Chapter 235 - Ten Hands Longsword (Totsuka Blade)

Chapter 235 – Ten Hands Longsword (Totsuka Blade)

"That... that's Susano'o?" Tsunade's eyes widened as she stared at the screen, at the colossal crimson figure looming behind Itachi.

Yusuke smiled faintly. "Of course it is. He awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan long ago. It would be far stranger if he couldn't summon Susano'o."

"Tsunade-neechan..." Kurenai spoke up softly, unable to hide her astonishment. "What exactly is that thing?"

It wasn't her fault. Most of the records about the true power of Uchiha Madara had been erased long ago by Tobirama Senju himself. It was only natural that few from the newer generations even knew the name Susano'o.

Yusuke glanced toward her, his tone calm and composed, like a teacher giving a quiet lecture.

"Susano'o is the third power that dwells within the Mangekyō Sharingan. When it manifests, immense chakra pours from the user's body, forming the shape of a divine warrior that both protects and attacks. It's the ultimate technique that combines absolute offense and defense. Many call it the power of the gods."

Tsunade frowned. "So… one can only manifest Susano'o after awakening both abilities of the Mangekyō Sharingan?"

"Exactly," Yusuke replied. "Even among those who awaken the Mangekyō, not everyone can access the unique powers within their eyes. And the number of people who can manifest Susano'o? Even fewer."

"But Itachi's body is already in terrible shape," Tsunade said gravely. "Still… according to our family's records, Susano'o's defense is absolute. Aside from my grandfather, no one ever managed to pierce it."

Yusuke nodded slowly. "True—but that kind of power always comes with a price. Susano'o is a double-edged sword. Every time it's used, the user's body and vision erode under the strain of their own power. Itachi's eyesight has already deteriorated badly."

"But Madara never showed such symptoms," Tsunade argued.

"That's because Madara possessed the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan—an immortal form of the Mangekyō," Yusuke explained patiently. "His eyes weren't of the standard type. They were of the Straight Tomoe pattern—something only Madara ever possessed."

"Eternal? Straight Tomoe?" Tsunade tilted her head, visibly puzzled.

"The Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan," Yusuke continued, "is formed by merging two sets of Mangekyō from blood-related siblings. But it only works when both are of the Straight Tomoe type. Otherwise, the fusion fails. In the entire history of the Uchiha Clan, Madara was the only one to possess that form."

He paused, his expression softening slightly as his gaze met Tsunade's. "It's the same as how, in your Senju Clan, only your grandfather possessed the Wood Release. And now… the new bearer of the Straight Tomoe stands right before your eyes."

"You mean... Uchiha Sasuke?" Tsunade asked quietly.

Yusuke nodded. "That's right. He inherited that pattern. And the Straight Tomoe—" his tone deepened, "—is the key that leads to the Rinnegan."

Tsunade's brows furrowed. "Then… does that mean Sasuke could one day reach the same level as Uchiha Madara?"

Yusuke's eyes turned back to the screen, where the two brothers continued their battle. "If you mean the Madara you've read about in history books," he said with a faint smile, "then yes… sooner or later, Sasuke will reach that height."

On the screen, the crimson giant began to change. The skeletal frame solidified, gaining flesh, armor, and the fierce visage of a Tengu with a crow-like beak.

In its right hand materialized a gleaming golden blade, and in its left—a spiritual mirror shaped like a swirling vortex.

Sasuke, meanwhile, had reached his limit. His chakra was nearly depleted, his body trembling from exhaustion. That was when the dark essence of Orochimaru, slumbering inside him, began to awaken—taking over his body in an instant.

From within Sasuke's form erupted a monstrous serpent with nine massive heads—Yamata no Orochi.

The creature roared, its nine heads lunging toward Itachi all at once. But Susano'o stood unshaken, raising its ethereal shield. The onslaught crashed against it like waves on a cliff, leaving not a single scratch.

Moments later, Itachi lifted his sword. With one fluid swing of the Totsuka Blade, all nine heads were severed in a single, graceful motion.

"Futile!" Orochimaru's voice echoed from one of the remaining heads, his pale face emerging between the white scales. "You can't kill me that easily!"

Itachi didn't answer. His crimson eyes gleamed coldly as he thrust the blade straight through Orochimaru's chest.

"I told you, that won't—" Orochimaru's words froze on his lips. His eyes widened in horror.

From the wound, a golden-orange light flared, and a strange spiritual aura enveloped his entire body.

Yusuke smiled faintly. "Foolish, as always, Orochimaru… looks like the battle's over."

Tsunade turned to him. "What do you mean?"

"The sword Itachi wields isn't just any weapon," Yusuke explained. "It's the Totsuka no Tsurugi—the Ten Hands Longsword. A legendary spiritual blade, also known as the Sakegari no Tachi, one of the fabled variants of the Kusanagi line. Anyone pierced by it is sealed for eternity—trapped in an endless drunken dream."

Tsunade's eyes widened. "That sword… isn't that the one Orochimaru spent years searching for?"

"Exactly," Yusuke said, nodding. "He scoured the world for the true Kusanagi. He found Sasuke's sword, Kusanagi no Tsurugi, and even the Ame no Murakumo—the Sword of the Gathering Clouds. But the blade he truly desired—the one capable of sealing souls—was in Itachi's hands all along."

Kisame's jaw tightened as he stared at the vision on the screen. "To think… Itachi-san still had a weapon like that hidden away..."

Yusuke rose slowly from his seat. "That's enough. The fight is over."

In a flash, he vanished—reappearing between the two brothers, who now lay collapsed on the ground.

Moments later, Tsunade and Kurenai arrived beside him, followed closely by Kisame and Team Taka.

"Enough pretending, Itachi," Yusuke said flatly.

Sasuke blinked, confused. "Pretending…? What are you talking about?"

Yusuke's voice softened. "Calm down, little Sasuke. The truth you've been chasing all this time—you'll hear it from me directly."

But before continuing, he lifted his right hand, his expression turning serious. "First, though… there are people here who shouldn't hear what comes next."

He formed a complex series of seals with blinding speed. His middle finger pressed against his index finger, while his left hand tugged lightly at the high collar around his neck.

"Domain Expansion — Infinite Void."

In an instant, the world around them shifted. A vast, boundless darkness stretched in every direction, glittering with countless stars and cosmic light. Within that infinite space, everyone's consciousness began to blur and fade.

Yusuke stood at the center, extending a finger into the air as faint streams of chakra radiated outward, enveloping everyone nearby.

Kisame, Zetsu, and every member of Team Taka collapsed, falling into unconsciousness—minds swallowed by the endless void.

When the world returned to normal, only three figures remained standing: Yusuke, Itachi, and Sasuke.

Sasuke stared at the man before him—part awe, part fear swirling inside his chest.

Just how strong is he…?

"Now listen carefully," Yusuke said, his tone calm but unyielding. "The truth behind the Uchiha massacre… is not what you think it is."

His gaze locked onto Sasuke's, unwavering.

"Itachi didn't kill them out of hatred."

Yusuke's voice lowered, each word carrying the weight of finality.

"He did it… to protect you."
