Hours passed and Apa kept opening hidden doors. They kept leading to more cells.
"This is some kind of prison maze. Some rooms even have two doors," Juvita said as they walked from room to room.
In some instances, they reach a dead end and work their way back. In a room with torches as light sources, they could not tell day from night.
After hours they hit a dead end, unlike the other times. There were no other doors. Apa, Juvita, and Brav made their way back to camp.
They had made camp in the first room. Around a fire, the rest of the team was seated.
"Don't you find it strange that we have not had an encounter with monsters?" Rye mentioned and Uvilus glared at him.
"You should be thankful, you might be the first to die if we run into one," he blurted out.
Rye expected someone to defend him but everyone kept quiet. He looked around and bowed his head.
"How long do you think, it will take to get to the fifth floor?" the gunner in the third team asked. The gunner said breaking the silence.
"We planned for a month. Now, I don't even know where we are," Uvilus confessed.
Moments later Apa, Brav, and Juvita walked out of the maze.
"We hit a dead end," Apa announced to the rest of the team.
"What do you mean?" Uvilus got up and walked toward her.
The leader of the third team quickly got in-between them.
"Careful!" the tamer whispered. Uvilus sucked his teeth and walked away.
He picked up his shield which was leaning against a wall. He walked through the maze smashing walls at random.
He propped his shield in front of him. Uvilus ran into walls causing them to crumble like a gingerbread house.
As the others heard the crashing, they ran to see what was going on.
"Calm down, knocking down walls carelessly can cause a cave-in."
"I don't care. I am getting out of here one way or the other," Uvilus screamed and ran through wall after wall. Apa, Rye, and the others chased him.
When they caught up with him. They were out of the maze. In front of them was a winged creature seven feet tall.
"This is unfortunate," the creature said and immediately lunged at them. Face lifted her arm and lit candles that materialized mid-air.
Before anyone realized it had closed the gap between them. He swung at Uvilus but his shield caught it.
Brav lunged at him, and he punched the creature in the chest. It slid back creating sparks as its toenails clawed the ground.
"What are you waiting for? Fight!" Uvilus commanded.
