Chapter 14 - Fight!

They all stared at the seven-foot ashy creature. Its skin was a mixture of red and gray, with scars on its chest and shoulders. It was mostly red with only its chest being gray. On each arm was a line that ran from its shoulder to its elbow.

On its horns were gold rings that looked fused to them. Around its wrists were silk cloths fastened with a leather string.

It was naked except for a leather kilt with a couple of wool linings.

Sticking out of its kilt was a tail about a yard and a half long.

Rye froze, his stomach churned and saliva started to fill his mouth. The creature lunged at them and Uvilus put up his shield.

Brav punched it in the chest and sent it stumbling backward.

"Fight!" Rye heard Uvilus say and he snapped back to reality. He puked, fortunately or unfortunately, there was nothing to throw up.

All that was left when he was done was a thin slime of saliva that refused to snap. Rye panted still leaning. He wiped his mouth with the sleeve of his tunic.

The gunner fired at it in quick succession. It shielded its face with one arm. The bullets bounced off him with no effect.

The tamer, put out his hand, and a magic circle lit up. From the circle, a Pix jumped out. A creature about four feet tall with spiral horns and fangs.

He commanded the Pix to attack only to be smacked away with one hand. It tumbled into the gunner who was in the process of reloading.

"Spread out! Surround it!" Uvilus commanded as he unsheathed his short sword.

He banged it against his shield. The sound of metal clashing made the creature cover its ears.

Face with her hand still up twitched and the candles turned green. Wounds of her teammates in her candle's domain started to heal.

They all spread out like Uvilus suggested. Fireballs appeared over Juvita's shoulders. Face's hand twitched again and the candle turned blue.

This gave them buffs in strength, agility, and stamina. The fireballs flew striking the creature.

The explosion subsided and they saw it was unfazed. It slowly pinched on its beard extinguishing the flames.

In an instant, it disappeared right in front of Rye's eyes. The gunner fired at a blare, and he chased as he continued to fire.

Uvilus put up his shield, in time for stray bullets to ricochet off it.

"Watch it!" he screamed.
