Chapter 11 - Starting A Family

Waking up the next day, looking at Robin, still sleeping peacefully beside him, Ian realized he had finally started a family.

It was a shame he hadn't awakened any of the marrying and having many children systems.

With a sigh of regret, Ian didn't disturb Robin, who was still asleep. Hearing the sound of the wind outside the window, he remembered Captain Enchi's words last night that they would return to the 315th Branch that morning.

He quickly got out of bed, dressed, and covered Robin with the blanket.

Her plump legs were exposed, reminding him of the previous night. But remembering that he still had things to do, he kissed her on the forehead and then opened the door to leave.

Feeling the spring… No, should he say autumn breeze, Ian, feeling refreshed, set off for the dock.

Little did he know that after he pushed open the door and walked out, Robin, who had been soundly asleep, opened her eyes slightly. Her pretty face was tinged with a hint of shyness and complexity, as if a voice inside her was telling her she would regret it.

But after a moment, she no longer regretted it.

Now that she had made the decision, what was the point of regretting it?

After clearing the chaotic voice in her mind, she turned sideways, facing the direction where Ian had been lying, grasped the warm blanket covering her body, inhaled the unique scent, and slowly closed her eyes again.

From today on, she has a home too.

"I thought you were already married, but it turns out you're only engaged."

Captain Enchi grumbled while watching Ian run over with such energy.

Then, with a strange expression on his face, he said: "But now it seems you're married."

Then he pulled out another cigarette, lit it, and said calmly: "I never thought you would start a family so soon."

When he first arrived at the 315th Branch, this guy was full of fighting spirit, eager to do this and that, even brazenly considering the admirals and the emperor of the sea his rivals. Honestly, he thought the West Blue was about to produce another great figure.

This guy's future… Would either be the pillar of Marine Headquarters or a pirate wreaking havoc on the seas.

But to his surprise, not long after, he applied for retirement. And then, not long after, he got married and started a family.

"What a shame! Are you really not coming back? You can still be a marine even if you have a family. It will be busier, but it will provide a stable income, just like me. And even if you want to go to Marine Headquarters, you can take your wife with you."

"… "

Why go to headquarters now? To walk into a trap?

Ian sighed helplessly, shook his head, and said: "I've already retired, so I'm not going back."

"It's no big deal. Even if you retire, you can come back."

"Forget it, let's not talk about this."

Seeing Captain Enchi still trying to persuade him to go back, Ian changed the subject, lowered his voice, and then said: "I want to learn the complete Six Styles and Life Return. Do you have any ideas?"

"Yes!"

Captain Enchi nodded without hesitation, but before Ian could be happy, he flicked the ash from his cigarette and said: "Go to Marine Headquarters."

"…"

Ian looked at him speechlessly, then said helplessly: "Is there any way besides joining the Marine Headquarters?"

"The Six Styles are important training materials for Marine Headquarters. No marine can teach them privately. Of course, some people didn't abide by this rule. Otherwise, pirates wouldn't have learned the Six Styles."

Captain Enchi exhaled a puff of cigarette and complained without hesitation: "It's a pity that all I know is Iron Body and Finger Guns, I can't teach you the complete Six Style."

He frowned and pondered for a moment.

"To acquire the complete Six Style, you either need to attend training at Marine Headquarters or purchase it on the black market."

"But compared to headquarters, the Six Styles on the black market are much more disorganized. No one knows what the sealers of these things might add to them. As for Life Return…"

He paused briefly and scratched his head in annoyance. "That's more difficult. It's not that it's hard to acquire, but that most people learn it unconsciously. And those who can master it are geniuses among geniuses. So, forget it."

He sighed and tossed the empty cigarette butt into the sea. "Seeing as you saved my daughter before, I'll think of a way for you!"

Then he waved to the Marines behind him. "It's getting late. Let's go back!"

With that, he turned and left without further ado, ignoring Ian.

But Ian didn't care. He smiled and waved, watching the warship slowly sail out of the dock.

Only after the ship left did he remember something and shout: "By the way, remember to transfer the bounty from the Giant Bear Pirates to me!"

"That brat…"

Captain Enchi, who had been a little excited, couldn't help but frown at Ian's words. "Always getting me into trouble! What a waste of joy."

"Captain, why didn't you tell Ian that Admiral Aokiji was looking for him?"

The deputy beside him asked while frowning in confusion. "If he heard that an admiral from Marine Headquarters had noticed him, Ian might excitedly come back."

"Excited? That kid keeps shouting about wanting to chop Admiral Sakazuki in half with one swing; he's not going to get excited just because an admiral noticed him."

Captain Enchi complained in a sullen tone, then added in a serious tone: "Keep this to yourself and don't spread it around."

Up to now, he still hadn't figured out what it meant when Admiral Aokiji came that day to investigate Ian's information.

Could it really be because he coincidentally attended Ian's wedding and became curious?

How is that possible?

Does an admiral have so much free time?

Thinking of this, Captain Enchi's face was filled with complex emotions.

He lit another cigarette, took a long breath, and said slowly: "I hope… Nothing happens!"

"I'm back."

"Welcome back, dear."

When Ian returned, Robin was already awake.

Lunch was ready, and she was sitting alone at the table with a notebook laid out in front of her. She seemed to be writing something while waiting for him.

Curious, Ian leaned closer. When he saw the words written in the notebook, he froze and couldn't help but read them aloud: "Green grape winemaking process?"

What was this about?

"After seeing the merchant press down the price yesterday, for some reason, this idea just popped into my mind."

Caught under Ian's gaze, Robin showed an embarrassed smile and said: "I thought, if we can turn green grapes into wine, maybe we could sell them for a higher price."

As she spoke, Robin seemingly noticed Ian staring blankly at her.

She hesitated and asked: "Dear, what do you think of this…? Did I do something wrong?"

"No."

Hearing Robin's slightly concerned voice, Ian regained his composure and smiled: "You've come up with a brilliant idea."

But he couldn't help but grumble inwardly: After retiring, I go home to revitalize the countryside...?
