Chapter 11: Kurenai Yūhi's Walle
"Matron, are you heading out?"
Hoshikawa had just arrived at the orphanage when he saw Yakushi Nonō hurried out.
"Hoshikawa?"
Yakushi Nonō was slightly startled and asked in surprise, "Why are you here? Is something wrong?"
"Nothing, it's Sunday today, so I thought I'd come back to the orphanage."
Hoshikawa shook the picture books in his hand and said, "And bring them some gifts."
"You're quite thoughtful."
Yakushi Nonō showed a gentle smile.
"These little gifts are nothing."
Hoshikawa shook his head and said, "Because everyone has been so good to me."
"Then go see them."
Yakushi Nonō stroked his head and said, "Matron needs to go to Konoha Hospital."
"Are you going for surgery?"
Hoshikawa asked casually.
Yakushi Nonō held three positions: matron of the orphanage, a Root ninja, and a doctor at Konoha Hospital.
Given her strength, anyone requiring her for surgery was likely no ordinary ninja.
"I'm going to a meeting."
Yakushi Nonō paused and said, "Lady Tsunade has returned to the hospital; she's the director of the hospital."
"Lady Tsunade?"
Hoshikawa's eyes lit up, and he asked, "Can I come? I'm a big fan of Lady Tsunade and have always wanted to meet her."
Tsunade, as one of the Legendary Sannin of Konoha, was an idol for many ninjas.
Saying he was her fan wouldn't raise any suspicion.
"It's a meeting today; it's not appropriate for you to go."
Yakushi Nonō thought for a moment and said, "Next Saturday, I'll take you to meet her."
"Alright."
Hoshikawa could only temporarily suppress his curiosity.
"I'll go now, see you next time."
Yakushi Nonō withdrew her hand and headed towards Konoha Hospital.
Hoshikawa looked at her retreating figure thoughtfully.
Tsunade is indeed in Konoha Village at this time.
But unfortunately, he only had Yin Release talent, not Yang Release.
His Yin Release talent came from the enhancement of his spiritual power after awakening his past life memories.
What about Yang Release talent then? Physical strength?
Hoshikawa suddenly thought of the E-rank entry 'Robust Physique' that he hadn't acquired yet. Perhaps one of its synthesis paths was Yang Release talent.
Regardless of whether it was true, it was worth a try, as training his body had no downsides.
After a week of training, the progress bar for 'Robust Physique' had reached 60%.
Another week, and he should be able to acquire it.
Perhaps even less than a week.
Because he was now training for longer periods.
Hoshikawa entered the orphanage, gave the picture books to the children, played for a while, and then said goodbye and left.
He walked on the street, wondering when Yakushi Kabuto arrived at the orphanage.
Although the original story didn't specify the exact time, it was certainly after the Third Great Ninja War.
A sense of urgency washed over him.
Ninja Wars were incredibly dangerous; even Kage could fall.
"Hoshikawa!"
Kurenai Yūhi's voice came from above.
Hoshikawa looked up and saw her dangling little feet.
Under the warm sunlight, they gleamed brightly.
He had unconsciously returned to Kurenai Yūhi's home.
There were two trees at her doorstep: one was a pagoda tree, and the other was also a pagoda tree.
"What are you doing up there?"
Hoshikawa asked.
Kurenai Yūhi put on her shoes and jumped down from the tree.
After landing steadily in front of him, she held out her hand.
Hoshikawa raised an eyebrow, staring at her.
"You went out and didn't bring me anything?"
Kurenai Yūhi put her hands on her hips and said, "You fail!"
"No money."
Hoshikawa coughed lightly.
But in reality, he had forgotten.
Kurenai Yūhi froze.
She then remembered that Hoshikawa was an orphan and had no source of income.
"Here... here you go!"
Kurenai Yūhi shoved a wallet into his hand, then turned her face away, leaving him with a slightly reddened cheek.
The wallet was pink with a rabbit pattern on it.
Hoshikawa paused, then instinctively opened the wallet; it contained a stack of banknotes.
He suddenly felt a discomfort in his stomach.
But living off a beautiful loli, he still couldn't bring himself to do it.
Most importantly, Kurenai Yūhi wasn't wealthy.
If it were the Hyuga or Uchiha clan, he might consider it.
But the little loli from the Hyuga family hadn't been born yet.
If it were a little loli from the Uchiha family, there wouldn't be so many problems; the Hokage series would probably be cut in half, counting flashbacks.
However, he could definitely think of ways to make some money.
"No thanks."
Hoshikawa grabbed Kurenai Yūhi's wrist, handed the wallet back to her, and said.
"Huh?"
Kurenai Yūhi tilted her head, her eyes blinking, looking adorably confused.
Hoshikawa's heart stirred. He reached out and stroked her head.
Kurenai Yūhi subconsciously leaned back, but couldn't evade him, only able to glare.
"You still haven't told me what you were doing here."
Hoshikawa casually changed the subject.
He rubbed Kurenai Yūhi's hair twice before retracting his hand.
Hmm, smooth hair, nice touch.
"My dad is looking for you."
Kurenai Yūhi came back to her senses.
"Where is he?"
Hoshikawa entered the house, standing in the entryway to change his shoes.
"I'll go get him."
Kurenai Yūhi put away her wallet and skipped to Yūhi Shinku's room.
Soon, the two reappeared in the living room.
"Hoshikawa."
Yūhi Shinku got straight to the point, "How is your chakra molding technique lately?"
Hoshikawa stood up and demonstrated it.
"Good."
Yūhi Shinku smiled and said, "Your proficiency is almost catching up to Kurenai's."
Hoshikawa had only been learning for a week, but Kurenai Yūhi had been learning for almost half a year.
It could only be described as terrifying.
Kurenai Yūhi snorted softly upon hearing this.
She was a bit displeased but couldn't find any reason to refute him.
Yūhi Shinku, seeing this, found his daughter adorable.
He reached out, intending to pat her head, but Kurenai Yūhi perfectly dodged with a backflip.
"Your chakra is barely up to standard now; you can start trying to learn genjutsu."
Yūhi Shinku felt a touch of awkwardness. He coughed twice and said.
Speak of the devil, and he shall appear. He just wanted to get stronger.
Hoshikawa's spirits immediately lifted.
Although genjutsu became quite awkward in the later stages, it was still quite useful against ordinary ninjas.
Kurenai Yūhi also became serious.
This concerned her and Hoshikawa's future rivalry.
She couldn't lose!
"Genjutsu, taijutsu, and ninjutsu are the three basic skills of a ninja, but few specialize in genjutsu."
Yūhi Shinku slightly raised his chin and said with a hint of pride, "Because genjutsu is the hardest to learn, it requires sufficient talent."
In front of his daughter, he wanted to show off properly.
And he certainly wasn't lying; in the entire Konoha Village, no one understood genjutsu better than him.
The Uchiha clan excluded, of course.
"So, Uncle Shinku is a ninja specialized in genjutsu?"
Hoshikawa guessed his thoughts and consciously asked.
"I am indeed."
Yūhi Shinku said with a wide smile.
"Hurry up and teach us."
Kurenai Yūhi urged.
She just wanted to learn genjutsu as soon as possible, then defeat Hoshikawa and become the leader.
Yūhi Shinku's expression stiffened.
Was this still his sweet little cotton swab?
