Chapter 41: Students Are Not Allowed to Disobey Their Teacher
The nature of the meal changed the moment Tsunade started drinking sake.
Hoshikawa, being a child, had a small appetite and was full quickly.
But Tsunade had one cup after another. The smell of alcohol, mixed with the food's aroma, came rushing at him.
"Stop drinking, Teacher!" Hoshikawa couldn't help but remind her.
"What's all the noise about, you little brat?" Tsunade asked, her face flushed with alcohol.
"You still have to teach me later!" Hoshikawa said, a little frustrated.
"I... I know my limits. It won't... won't affect anything." Tsunade swayed her sake cup and downed it again.
"It's not good for your health to drink too much." Hoshikawa's eyes narrowed, and he reached out and snatched the sake bottle from in front of her.
"Give it back to me!" Tsunade leaned forward, swaying. "I think you completely misunderstand. Remember, a student cannot disobey their teacher!"
With her movement, her clothes shifted, and her fair skin shone as brightly as a chandelier.
Hoshikawa was lost for a second. In that split second, the sake bottle was back in Tsunade's hand.
"You're... you're still a bit too young to fight with your teacher." Tsunade said with a triumphant look.
You're not fighting fair!
Using such a devious method to launch a sneak attack.
What kind of student could withstand such a test?
Hoshikawa sighed. There was nothing he could do about this drunkard.
He deeply understood the meaning of being out of his depth.
"What? Are you... are you mad?" Tsunade took a swig from the sake bottle, glanced at him, and asked.
"No," Hoshikawa shook his head.
There was no reason to be angry over such a small thing.
"Then give your teacher a smile." Tsunade looked at his expression, reached out, and pinched his cheek.
What kind of hooligan is this?
Hoshikawa was furious and glared at her.
"Hahahaha!" Tsunade laughed happily, her face flushed. "You're so much fun!"
"I'm not your toy," Hoshikawa protested.
"Students are for playing with," Tsunade said with a bright smile.
Hoshikawa suddenly felt a pang of regret. Was this a sinking ship he had just boarded?
But he would tolerate it for now and retaliate later.
The dinner finally ended in a cheerful atmosphere.
"You rest. I'll do the dishes," Hoshikawa said as he cleared the table.
"So self-sufficient." Tsunade nodded in satisfaction. She got up, went to the sofa, and lay down.
She let out a comfortable sigh, feeling more and more that taking on a student was the right decision.
Hoshikawa took the dishes to the kitchen.
A few minutes later, he finished the dishes and returned to the living room.
He paused, a little stunned.
Tsunade was lying quietly on the sofa, her eyes closed, a stark contrast to her previous state. She was a sleeping beauty.
"Teacher?" Hoshikawa hesitated for a few seconds, then called out tentatively.
Tsunade frowned in her sleep, then she wrapped her arms around him, pulling him to her chest and covering his mouth.
Hoshikawa's head directly hit her, bouncing back and forth a few times.
He was in a daze for a few seconds before he realized what had happened.
He had almost fallen into the "baby restaurant."
"Quiet, I want to sleep." Tsunade released him and went back to sleep.
Soon, her breathing became steady.
Hoshikawa felt the rise and fall on his face and struggled to crawl out of her embrace.
He took a deep breath, and the fragrance still filled the air around him.
"I knew this would happen." Hoshikawa looked at the sleeping Tsunade and shook his head.
But wasting a night wasn't a big deal.
Everything in its own time.
And after the final exams, he would have a two-month-long vacation, which gave him plenty of time.
Hoshikawa didn't disturb her again and went home soon after.
"You're back?" Shinku Yūhi asked curiously. "What did Tsunade-sama want?"
"She took me in as her student." Hoshikawa glanced around but didn't see Kurenai Yūhi.
Oh, she took you in as her student.
Shinku Yūhi smiled, then his expression froze.
He shot up, asking with urgency, "What did you just say? Who took a student? Who's the teacher?"
"Am I the teacher?" Hoshikawa couldn't help but laugh. "Of course, Tsunade-sama is my teacher."
Tsunade was a student of the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and one of the Legendary Sannin. The news of her taking a student would surely not be kept a secret.
And why would he want to hide it?
In a way, the more famous Hoshikawa became, the safer he would be.
Hmm, should Kumogakure get a reward for this?
Hoshikawa thought that he could take a trip there sometime.
Besides that, he had to cash in on the royalties from 'Taimanin' and find someone to forge a good katana for him.
"Hahahahahaha!" Shinku Yūhi was stunned for a few seconds, then finally couldn't hold back and burst into laughter.
Are you one of the four Uchiha fools?
Hoshikawa couldn't help but inwardly mock him for his exaggerated laughter.
"I'm guessing it's because you defeated Kakashi, which made Tsunade-sama make up her mind," Shinku Yūhi said, calming down and taking a deep breath. "Hoshikawa, work hard. Don't disappoint Tsunade-sama's expectations."
"Yeah." Hoshikawa nodded and asked, "Where's Kurenai?"
"She's in her room doing homework." Shinku Yūhi still couldn't hide his excitement.
Although Hoshikawa's surname wasn't Yūhi, he studied genjutsu and lived in their house, so there wasn't much of a difference.
With him becoming Tsunade's student, they would also benefit.
And they might even become a family.
Shinku Yūhi watched Hoshikawa walk into Kurenai Yūhi's room, a smile on his face.
"Hoshikawa?" Kurenai Yūhi heard the door open and subconsciously looked up.
"Why are you doing homework as soon as we're on vacation?" Hoshikawa asked with a serious expression. "Shouldn't homework be done the last two days before school starts?"
"What kind of thinking is that?" Kurenai Yūhi snorted.
"It's a real thing," Hoshikawa said with a serious face. "Let me tell you, I have four 'don't-do's' for homework. First, I don't do the simple ones..."
Kurenai Yūhi was amused by his words and laughed happily.
After a moment, she patted her chest to stop laughing and asked, "Why are you back earlier than usual today?"
Learning medical ninjutsu was time-consuming, so he wasn't usually back so early.
"I didn't learn today," Hoshikawa said casually. "I became her student."
"You became Tsunade-sama's student?" Kurenai Yūhi asked in surprise.
"Yeah." Hoshikawa nodded.
"That's amazing!" Kurenai Yūhi said excitedly. "That's Tsunade-sama!"
"It's nothing," Hoshikawa sighed. "She's very troublesome."
"..." For some reason, Kurenai Yūhi felt a strong urge to punch him.
...
Night fell.
Tsunade woke up.
She looked at the familiar ceiling, and her thoughts slowly returned to her.
"This little brat is considerate." Tsunade noticed the blanket covering her.
She pushed it off, sat up, and, with a flick of her hand, a burst of chakra hit the light switch precisely.
The living room lit up.
"Hmm?" Tsunade picked up the note on the coffee table.
It was from Hoshikawa.
"Go to bed when you wake up. I'll come back tomorrow morning."
Tsunade looked at the words and fell into a daze.
