Chapter 42: I, Hoshikawa, Am the Chef God
"Hiruzen!"
A fierce roar suddenly echoed through the Konoha Root base in the middle of the night.
Danzō Shimura woke up with a gloomy expression.
In his dream, the conversation of "You regret, I'm angry, bang" had replayed again.
He couldn't help but clench his fist.
Hokage!
He swore with tears in his eyes that he would become the Hokage!
Danzō Shimura took a breath and got up.
He walked through a dark hallway and arrived at a room.
He pushed the door half-open, stood at the doorway, and looked at a sleeping Yamato on the bed.
Of course, his codename was now Kinoe.
Yamato was the only survivor of the Wood Release experiment.
However, it was worth noting that Orochimaru didn't know this. He thought the experiment had failed and all the test subjects were dead.
Danzō Shimura had played a trick and got a free Yamato, bringing him back to Root.
"At least I have hope now." Danzō Shimura showed an ugly smile.
As a student of the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, he had seen the invincible Wood Release of the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju.
As long as Yamato grew up, he could defeat Hiruzen Sarutobi.
Once Hiruzen Sarutobi died, during Konoha's time of crisis, he could become the Fourth Hokage and the savior of Konoha.
This plan was flawless!
But his ambitions went far beyond that.
No matter how powerful Yamato was, he was still an outsider.
Danzō Shimura wanted to transplant Hashirama's cells and acquire Wood Release.
He had tried before, but the Hashirama cells were too corrosive to transplant.
Now that there was a successful case in Yamato, it might be possible.
Danzō Shimura closed the door and went to the Root office.
He had woken up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep, so he might as well check the progress of the Wood Release research.
The lights turned on.
Danzō Shimura picked up a document from the desk and glanced at it, his face turning extremely grim.
The document was from Hiruzen Sarutobi.
Two things.
First, he had to pay for the damage to the Hokage's office.
Second, Hoshikawa was now Tsunade's student, and he should stop fantasizing.
Danzō Shimura was so angry that his body felt cold in the middle of the night.
She could have taken him in as a student at any time, but she chose today. This was clearly targeting him.
"Hiruzen! You'll regret this!" Danzō Shimura roared to the heavens.
The news of Tsunade taking a student spread quickly.
With Hiruzen Sarutobi's deliberate indulgence, the news spread throughout Konoha overnight.
Of course, this was limited to the major ninja clans and Jonin. The ordinary villagers would probably find out in a couple of days.
"What's wrong? You don't look happy?" Sakumo Hatake opened the door and saw Kakashi Hatake standing by the window, exuding a gloomy aura.
This was the first time he had seen his son react this way.
He knew the reason without even having to ask.
The boy, who had always been called a genius, had lost to Hoshikawa in the Hatake clan's swordsmanship, a skill he had never been defeated in before.
He had gone from being sullen to having a 'don't-smile' challenge.
"Nothing," Kakashi Hatake said stubbornly.
"I talked with Lord Hokage yesterday. Do you know why you lost?" Sakumo Hatake asked after a moment of thought.
"Why?" Kakashi Hatake turned around and asked expressionlessly.
"Proficiency," Sakumo Hatake explained. "If you had the same level of proficiency in swordsmanship, you could easily defeat Hoshikawa."
"I'm going to train right now," Kakashi Hatake said and started to walk out.
"Hey! Eat first!" Sakumo Hatake quickly called out.
At the Sarutobi clan's compound.
Although school was out, Asuma Sarutobi still woke up early.
Losing to Hoshikawa had left him with no desire to sleep in.
However, not long after, his enthusiasm was dampened.
"What did you say?" Asuma Sarutobi asked, his face full of shock. "Damn it! Why didn't you stop her?"
Tsunade wasn't just any medical ninja; she had a terrifying amount of power.
If Hoshikawa learned the Strength of a Hundred Seal and Monstrous Strength, Asuma Sarutobi's scalp would tingle just thinking about it.
How could he even fight a opponent with maximum offense and recovery?!
"Are you scared?" Hiruzen Sarutobi asked with a smile.
"Why would I be scared?!" Asuma Sarutobi said, sticking his neck out. "The past is the past, the present is the present, and the future is the future. I won't lose forever!"
"That's a good thing to say," Hiruzen Sarutobi coughed, reminding him. "Tsunade is my student."
Asuma Sarutobi was stunned for a moment, then his eyes lit up.
So what if she's Tsunade?
Her teacher is my dad!
By extension, his seniority was one level higher than Hoshikawa's.
"I'll give you special training these two months," Hiruzen Sarutobi said with a smile.
He finally had a chance to let Asuma experience the depth of a father's love!
...
Hoshikawa raised his hand and knocked on the door.
He didn't have a key to Tsunade's house.
The last time he was able to go in was because she was drunk and forgot to lock the door.
A moment later, the door opened.
Tsunade wasn't wearing her usual sleeveless top and dark blue pants. She was in a white nightgown.
The nightgown was large, but it still couldn't hide her voluptuous figure, making it look all the more bulging.
And Hoshikawa noticed that she was only wearing the nightgown.
Because there was a hint of something shiny underneath.
"So early?" Tsunade asked, yawning.
"It's not early. It's almost nine," Hoshikawa had trained with Kurenai Yūhi for two hours before coming here.
The first reason was that he guessed Tsunade would be sleeping in.
The second reason was that Kurenai Yūhi had asked him sadly, "Are you going to see Tsunade-sama again?"
"I'm going to change," Tsunade paused. "I want to eat ramen."
After placing her order, she turned and went back to her room.
Hoshikawa looked away and went to the kitchen, where he began to cook ramen.
A few minutes later, he came back to the living room with a bowl of ramen.
Tsunade had already changed back into her clothes, and her beautiful blonde hair was tied up into two pigtails.
She picked up her chopsticks, slurped some ramen, and her eyes lit up. "This ramen of yours is pretty good."
This was actually the effect of the E-rank entry 'Chef'.
Hoshikawa watched Tsunade eat heartily, and his suspicions grew. He had a feeling that the subsequent entries would have the effect of the food being so delicious that it would cause clothes to burst off.
He had to admit, the anticipation was building.
I, Hoshikawa, am the Chef God!
"Ah!" Tsunade took a sip of the soup, put down the bowl, and let out a long sigh.
Hoshikawa automatically took the bowl and chopsticks to the kitchen.
Tsunade looked at his retreating figure, deep in thought.
What should she teach him today?
She had given Hoshikawa some pointers before, but it wasn't real teaching.
"Teacher," Hoshikawa appeared in front of her after he finished the dishes.
"First, let me see your chakra control." Tsunade sat up straight, a rare serious expression on her face.
Hoshikawa looked around, picked up a cup of water, and with a surge of chakra, the water began to swirl.
In the original story, chakra control was usually practiced by climbing trees or walking on water.
Hoshikawa was using a simplified version of the training method for the Rasengan.
"Very good." Tsunade nodded in satisfaction.
The most commendable thing about Hoshikawa was his extremely strong fundamentals, which showed he had put in a lot of hard work.
In reality, it was because of his entry system, which had a progress bar.
Once he learned something, he wouldn't forget it; it would just accumulate.
"Today, I'll teach you a basic medical ninjutsu, the Healing Hands Technique." Tsunade picked up a fruit knife and looked at Hoshikawa.
