Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Are You Giving Up After Just One Try?

Chapter 52: Are You Giving Up After Just One Try?

Sakumo Hatake let out a sigh after leaving the Hokage's office.

They'd talked to him again.

He walked silently down the street.

What was most important for a ninja?

According to the ninja code, it was the mission.

But he could not abandon his comrades for a mission. That was his conviction and his principle.

Whatever, let them talk. In the end, he had completed the mission and saved his comrades. He had a clear conscience.

"I'm home, Kakashi." Sakumo Hatake put his thoughts away and opened the front door.

But when he didn't get a response from Kakashi Hatake, he was a little surprised.

What's going on?

Sakumo Hatake walked into the living room and saw Kakashi Hatake sitting on the sofa with a gloomy expression.

Did he lose to Hoshikawa again?

That's strange.

In Sakumo Hatake's opinion, Kakashi Hatake's strength already exceeded that of a Genin. With some experience, he could become a Chunin.

And the special training he had personally designed for the past two months was top-notch.

"What's wrong, Kakashi?" Sakumo Hatake asked, sitting across from him.

"..." Kakashi Hatake came back to his senses and explained what had happened.

"Monster Strength?" Sakumo Hatake looked surprised.

Monster Strength was not an ordinary jutsu. It was very difficult to master.

It was completely unexpected for Hoshikawa to be able to use it.

"Kakashi," Sakumo Hatake asked with a smile. "Are you giving up after just one failure?"

"Of course not," Kakashi Hatake said.

"Good. That's my son." Sakumo Hatake nodded in satisfaction.

"Should I still apply for early graduation now?" Kakashi Hatake hesitated for a few seconds. "The things taught in school are no longer very useful to me."

"You made a promise to Hoshikawa. You should keep it," Sakumo Hatake paused. "I have an idea. Go train with Hoshikawa."

To be honest, he didn't want Kakashi Hatake to graduate yet.

He was only five years old, too young.

"Will he agree?" Kakashi Hatake was stunned and asked.

"He will," Sakumo Hatake said with confidence. "I'm a good judge of character."

Hoshikawa left the kitchen, holding a plate of tempura.

Tsunade hadn't returned yet.

Just as he was worrying that the tempura would get cold, the door opened.

Hoshikawa walked to the entrance.

Tsunade was standing at the entrance, changing her shoes.

She bent down slightly, and the heavy burden made her clothes seem precarious.

Hoshikawa swallowed.

This woman was a walking armory.

"Teacher," Hoshikawa walked up to her and took the dark green jacket she had just taken off.

"How was the first day of school?" Tsunade asked, then patted his head and walked toward the dining table. She had already smelled the food.

"It was alright," Hoshikawa said with a sigh.

"What's wrong?" Tsunade picked up her chopsticks. "Did something unhappy happen?"

"Not really," Hoshikawa said, sitting across from her. "It's just that the Hokage-sama is very talkative."

Tsunade laughed with a look of schadenfreude.

Hoshikawa glared at him with dissatisfaction.

"It's fine," Tsunade said with a smile. "You'll experience it many more times in the future."

"Don't try to comfort me if you're not going to do it properly," Hoshikawa said, angrily grabbing a piece of fried shrimp with his chopsticks and putting it in her mouth to shut her up.

Tsunade wasn't shy at all. She bit down on the chopsticks and used her tongue to pull the fried shrimp into her mouth.

Hoshikawa looked at the glistening saliva on his chopsticks and fell into silence.

"These chopsticks haven't been used," Tsunade said, swapping chopsticks with him after swallowing the fried shrimp. "Your cooking is getting better and better. Nice, keep up the good work."

This was thanks to his system.

Hoshikawa cooked for Tsunade every day, and his progress bar was constantly increasing. His E-rank entry 'Chef' was already close to being upgraded to D-rank.

"Take the day off after tomorrow," Tsunade suddenly said, thinking of something. "I'll take you somewhere."

"Where?" Hoshikawa asked curiously.

This was the first time Tsunade was in such a hurry that she would take up his school time.

"You'll see when we get there," Tsunade said casually.

Hoshikawa keenly noticed that she was a little distracted, making him even more curious, but he didn't ask further.

After dinner, it was time for their daily training.

"Teacher, when can I learn Monster Strength?" Hoshikawa asked, thinking of the lie he had told Kakashi Hatake earlier.

"Monster Strength requires a high level of physical fitness," Tsunade said, walking up to him. "Don't move. Let me see your development."

What kind of aggressive words are those?

Hoshikawa complained in his heart but still stood still obediently.

Tsunade reached out and pinched his shoulders, arms, thighs, and other parts.

After a moment of thought, she said, "I feel like you're still a bit lacking."

"So I can't learn it now?" Hoshikawa felt a little disappointed.

The destructive power of Monster Strength was terrifying.

In the original story, its performance was on par with a regular Rasengan, and sometimes even more powerful.

"Besides your body, Monster Strength also requires excellent chakra control," Tsunade said after thinking for a moment. "Let's train your chakra control first."

Hoshikawa was a little stunned.

Because he had to learn medical ninjutsu, his chakra control was already the best among his peers.

Classic things like walking on water and climbing trees were easy for him.

But he hadn't expected Monster Strength to have such high requirements.

No wonder Shizune hadn't learned the Creation Rebirth or Monster Strength after following Tsunade for so long.

"How do we train?" Hoshikawa asked.

"Climbing trees," Tsunade said, walking outside.

"Climbing trees?" Hoshikawa followed her. "That's not difficult for me anymore."

"Just this tree," Tsunade said, pointing casually. "Go up."

Seeing this, Hoshikawa didn't ask again and walked to the tree.

Under his control, chakra surged into his feet, and he stepped on the tree bark, climbing up step by step.

"Hoshikawa, watch out for the kunai," Tsunade reminded him, then raised her hand and threw two kunai.

Is this how we're going to play?

Hoshikawa's face changed slightly, and he quickly dodged.

"There's more," Tsunade said, flicking her hands and throwing four kunai this time.

Although Hoshikawa reacted quickly, a kunai still hit his thigh.

He lost his balance and fell from the tree.

The kunai was made of wood.

Although he wouldn't get hurt under Tsunade's control, it still hurt when it hit his body.

"Are you giving up after just one try?" Tsunade asked with a smile.

"Again!" Hoshikawa patted his butt and got up.

He had to at least last seven tries!

The night passed, and Hoshikawa was bruised and battered, but it was nothing major. He and Tsunade were both medical ninja.

A new day.

The first class of the second year taught the Body Replacement Technique, one of the Three Basic Jutsus.

"The Body Replacement Technique, in essence, is a form of misdirection. It requires you to prepare a substitute beforehand, such as a log or a wooden board," Ichiirō said from the podium. "The principle is to use the substitute to block the enemy's attack as quickly as possible in a cloud of smoke."

Although Hoshikawa hadn't learned the Three Basic Jutsus, he was able to learn them almost instantly due to his superior chakra control.

As for the other students, their progress was much slower.

The Three Basic Jutsus were probably the only three ninjutsu that many Genin could learn, and it took them six years to do so.

But such Genin usually didn't survive for long and were destined to be cannon fodder.

It had to be said that the ninja world was just that cruel.
