Chapter Forty Two
Author's Notes: Sorry for the Cliffie. Just to piss you off, here's another one! How it must suck to be you! Just to clarify things, it's the 30th of October at this point in the story. This chapter may be a little rough for Lily/Harry lovers. Fear not, it will all work out in the end.
There was a stunned silence and Lily could hear her heart pounding throughout her chest. She stared at the picture in her hand before gazing up at Harry, or more specifically his eyes.
"Of course." Lily breathed. She gazed again at the picture. "I should have realized that earlier."
Harry said nothing as he sat there, he fingers lying on the armrest and his feet planted firmly in the chair. He resembled a cobra, poised and waiting to strike back to defend himself against the Snake Charmer's hand.
Lily kept staring at the picture and noticed a few things that seemed odd. First, James Potter was smirking in victory. That seemed strange, as his only son had been born. Second, her older self's eyes looked…off. They were different somehow than what she saw in the mirror everyday. But even with these notes, thoughts swirled around in her head until she thought she couldn't think straight. Why had he not told her? Why had he lied? And why had he kissed her? And… "Why the fuck did I marry James Bloody Potter?" she exclaimed.
"I don't know." Harry said calmly. Lily was taking this rather well. Or so he thought.
"So, you've been lying to me." Lily growled in a dangerous tone.
"For your own protection." Harry said. "What would have you done if I had told you?"
'I know what I wouldn't have done! I wouldn't have fallen in love with my only son!' Lily thought angrily. She gave Harry a piercing glare.
"For Fuck's sake! You should have told me sooner!" she shouted in rage.
"I know." Harry said calmly.
"Don't fucking give me that tone!" Lily shrieked and jumped to her feet. In her anger she kicked over the table set up nearby. The glasses on the table as well as a bottle of Butterbeer smashed into pieces as they came in contact with the ground.
"Don't act so fucking calm!" she hissed in a deadly whisper. White-hot anger flared up in her amidst the confusion and grief she was feeling. She wanted to smash Harry's calm face in; she wanted to remove that look of sympathy and…understanding from his eyes. How the fuck could he understand what she was going through? One of the best things that had ever happened to her had been a lie. She had kissed her own son…and had enjoyed it. She had loved every moment of spending time with him. Her summer holidays had been the best she had ever had even with the Deaths of her relatives all because of Harry. Her son. He had taught her magic she had never even heard of, he had been her friend, her confident…her boyfriend!
"And how should I act?" Harry questioned.
"For starters you should stop acting like you understand me you Arsehole!" Lily screamed and Harry almost winced at the sheer volume.
"But I do understand. I know what it feels like to have information that should have rightfully been told to you long ago revealed suddenly." Harry said. He had not moved once during Lily's tirade. In a faint sense of unplaced amusement he realized that this was also reminiscent of the end of his fifth year when Albus had told him the prophecy.
"Oh! You do now?" Lily snarled sarcastically. "That makes it all better then, does it?"
Harry was silent again. He just gazed calmly, not missing a heartbeat.
"The thing is," Lily started and glowered furiously. "That if you knew how it felt like…YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE IT TO ME!"
"Could you have accepted the truth?" Harry asked.
"Of course I could have!" Lily said and in a fit of rage, her holy abilities flared to life and in a burst of uncontrolled magic, Lily's empty chair exploded in a burst of blinding white light. Harry eyes flickered and he waved his hand to put out the small fire. Lily took no notice of this and was pacing the room angrily. She would conjure up an item, usually breakable and with all her might; she would aim it at the wall and let it fly while watching the breakable item smash.
"DAMN YOU HARRY!" Lily roared out; anger beginning to fade and pain seeping through. She picked up another item and with great force she lobbed it at Harry's head. Harry sat still and without the slightest indication the item (A ceramic vase) swerved away from his and broke on a wall. Lily crumpled on the ground in a heap, looking weary.
"Damn you to hell." She muttered softly. She just sat there and stared at the ground.
Harry stood up for the first time and walked over. He placed a hand on her shoulder but she batted it off.
"How could you do this to me?" Lily snapped. "How could you let me kiss you? Date you?"
"I didn't want to at first." Harry explained patiently. "But I couldn't help it."
"You couldn't help it? You're one of the most powerful wizards on this planet and YOU COULDN'T FUKCING HELP IT?" Lily was on her feet in a flash and shoved Harry away from her.
"Like you said, I'm a powerful wizard. That doesn't mean I am invincible. I am human. I make bad choices… though I don't think that I made a bad choice here. I fell in love with you and I didn't want to lose that. You wonder why I didn't want to tell you" Harry commented.
"Take that back!" Lily snarled.
"Take what back?" Harry questioned.
"TAKE IT BACK!" she shouted. "HOW DARE YOU SAY YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH ME? I'M YOUR FUCKING MOTHER!"
"That can't change my feelings. And it won't change yours either." Harry stated.
"It changes everything! I fell in love with my own son!" Lily shrieked. "I'm a fucking pervert!"
"No you're not." Harry declared. "Stranger things have happened. In the Wizarding world this thing happens all the time. My old best friend's parents were cousins."
"It still doesn't make it right!" Lily argued.
"To who?" Harry challenged. "I don't plan on telling anybody else, do you?"
"Of course not!" Lily snapped. "Do I look stupid to you? I must."
"You're not stupid." Harry said.
"You must think I am if you thought I was going to accept this like a good little girl." Lily sneered off. Her eyes were dark and her face taught in a mixture of anger and sadness.
"I never asked for you to accept it." Harry said slowly. "But no matter what, it would have come out."
"Which is why I should have been told straight away!" Lily snapped. Another wave of anger came over her and she growled and with a glare, another chair exploded.
"Very impressive." Harry said as he eyed the destruction of the Room of Requirement. "I must admit that when I was told the prophecy I reacted similarly to this. Though my efforts of destruction weren't quite as effective."
Lily whirled on him with storms of rage in her eyes. She raised her wand and uttered with a hate filled voice. "Crucio!"
Harry blinked as Lily's face turned to shock at herself as the curse zoomed along. He made no move to attempt to dodge and braced himself as he was hit. A searing white-hot pain erupted from him before it faded just as quickly. He was thrown back from the brunt force of the curse and lay on his back panting. Lily was at his side a second later with concern and despair in her beautiful eyes.
"Oh my god!" she whispered as she tried to help him up. "What have I done?"
Harry said nothing and took the hand she offered and staggered up. When he was up he started talking. "What you did was try to express your anger but you forgot something. That curse only works if you really want to see me in pain. Your righteous anger will not work."
Lily was silent before she stood and tugged on the door. It was locked so she turned back to Harry.
"Let me out." She asked.
"No." Harry said.
"Let me out. Now." She asked again.
"I can't let you leave, I won't let you leave." Harry repeated. "Not until I have explained my actions. Please, sit."
Lily sat at the offered chair and Harry sat across from her. It suddenly dawned on her how tired Harry looked. His movements were slow and his eyes were dull and expressionless as he sat. He was a 16-year-old force into war and trying to do his best.
"Look at the photo, more specifically your eyes." Harry instructed. Lily did as she was told and noticed for a second time on how different they looked. They looked like Harry's eyes at this very moment.
"That's why I let myself fall in love with you. Because I will do anything to keep your eyes from looking like that." Harry sighed. "I'm sorry. I'm more sorry than you ever know but please, I did it all for you."
"I fell in love with you Harry." Lily confessed with a broken heart. Harry's heart thumped as she dabbed at her eyes. "I fell in love with you and find out that you're my son, my flesh and blood."
"Don't do this." Harry asked softly.
"I do love you." Lily said and smiled bitterly. "I thought you were the best thing in the world. In the two months we've known each other I was content to be at your side."
"You still can." Harry said. "Remember, there are only options and the choices we make to reach these options. Don't make the wrong choice."
"But...I…cant." Lily stuttered.
"You can." Harry assured her. "It's your choice. I can't help you anymore. Your path is your own choice and I beg of you to choose what your heart feels. The mind is nothing compared to the heart and the heart is never wrong."
"It was wrong this time. It was wrong to like you, it was wrong to trust you, it was wrong to hurt me like this." Lily said.
"I know it was wrong to keep this from you but I had no choice." Harry explained anxiously.
"There are always choices." Lily said quietly.
"I didn't want to hurt you." Harry admitted.
"You already have." Lily said in a deadpan voice and Harry winced. "Maybe one day we can be friends again. I trust you, I like you and I love you but it won't work. The Wizarding world may be used to this sort of stuff but I'm not."
"What is your heart telling you?" Harry asked. "Is it telling you that this is the best choice?"
"For God's sake!" Lily yelled desperately. "It's telling me to kiss you, to hold you and to love you!"
"Then listen to it!" Harry commanded.
Lily was quiet. Finally she spoke. "I can't do this." She said quietly. A tear trickled down her cheek.
"Lily…" Harry pleaded, losing his calm composure for the first time.
"I'm sorry Harry." Lily whispered. She walked over and gave Harry a kiss on the cheek. "Find someone else. Date Narcissa or Bellatrix…or both. I know you like them and I know they like you back."
"I like you, " Harry said softly.
"And I like you but…" Lily hesitated then walked towards the door.
"I won't give up." Harry said as she walked away.
"Goodbye Harry." She said in an emotionless voice.
Harry collapsed into a chair and held his head in his hands. As Lily walked out she spared one last glance to the man she loved…and her son. Just in time to see a single tear trickle slowly down his cheek. The first tear ever to have escaped his eyes for 10 years.
And as she left the time flickered from 11:59 pm to 12:00 am. Harry had lost the person he loved the most. Twice on the same day.
A lone girl cried herself to sleep in the Ravenclaw tower.
A lone boy watched the view from the Astronomy tower with detached eyes.
And Albus Dumbledore turned off the monitoring system in his office and stared off into the distance with his light blue eyes that had stopped twinkling one hour ago.
Chapter Forty Three
Halloween was a terrible day for both Harry and Lily. Harry was still upset from the night before. He had barely slept as was now trying to stay awake in Charms class. Lily was also upset, mainly for Harry not telling her and also for her actually using the Cruciatus Curse on Harry. She hadn't slept either and was constantly glancing in Harry's direction, only to meet his pained eyes and looking away quickly.
Narcissa and Bellatrix had noticed the tension that was between their two friends. They had no idea why, all they knew was yesterday morning Harry and Lily were fine and today they were avoiding each other like a Death Eater would avoid Dumbledore.
"I wonder what happened?" Narcissa asked Bellatrix at Lunch. Bellatrix shrugged and observed the way the two would meet eyes then duck their heads.
"Something happened last night." She answered.
"No shit." Narcissa said sarcastically. "What happened though?"
"Only those two know." Bellatrix said. But little did they know that one other also knew what happened that night.
Albus Dumbledore was troubled this day. He had witnessed the last half of fight in the Room of Requirement. He had sensors laced around the castle that was able to tell him if the Unforgivables were ever used. He had been writing a letter to a Ministry Official when one of the silver instruments had gone off. He had quickly activated the security mirrors and had tracked the curse origin to the Room of Requirement where he had witnessed the words spoken by Harry and Lily. He had been a little shocked but had suspected for quite some time that the two were related somehow. Their eyes were identical. He was going to leave the Cruciatus Curse alone and hope that those two would work it out. He was saddened to see that Lily couldn't handle the truth, though he must admit that if the truth had been sprung upon him like that he would have been a little shocked as well. He had suspected for a long time that Lily had been abused since her parent's death. He had tried Legilimency but she had never looked him in the eye long enough for him to quietly scan her memories. No, he would wait. Wait and watch.
It was the second class of their elemental abilities in the DADA. They had been practicing spells and learning some obscure but useful defense spells. Harry had learnt the Multiplicus Charm, which he had already had known, the Cannonball Hex that was used widely during the sea battles of the French and English during the One Hundred year war, the laser Curse which sent a small but highly concentrated beam at someone (Considered borderline illegal) and the wizard SOS charm which sent a distress message to the Auror's or Hit Wizards that homed into your location.
"It's time to go back to our Elemental Abilities class." Professor Green said as he paced the classroom. "We did one class on these special skills a few weeks ago and now we're going to finish it up. As I said before, all Elemental Abilities are made up of three levels. The First level is the basic level. This level contains Earth, Fire, Water and Air. The second level contains the abilities of Ice and Lava. The second level is special because Ice is made up of the elements of Air and Water and Lava is made up of Earth and Fire. This means that while the caster can use their primary second level element, they can also use Air and Water and Fire and Earth for Ice and Lava respectively."
"Sounds useful." Harry whispered to Narcissa who was paying very close attention to the lesson. She was an ice elemental so it was good to see what she was capable of.
"Is there something you wish to add Harry?" Professor Green asked. Most teachers called him Harry these days as he would not give out a last name and Riddle was obviously a fake. Only McGonagall called him Mr. Riddle now and Harry suspected that this was because she never called a student by their first names.
"Just saying that being a second level elemental could be useful." Harry said.
"It is useful. 5 points from Slytherin for speaking out of turn." Professor Green said and continued his speech.
"The Third Level is reserved for the abilities of Lightning and Lunar elementals. Lightning Elementals are perhaps the strongest elemental attacks. They can level buildings, call upon storms and manipulate the weather to some extent. They are all offensive attacks and they have no defensive abilities. Lunar elementals are non-combat abilities. They tend to be Seer's or to dab into the arts of Divination. They can control Werewolf's to some extent due to their influence over the moon and are usually very dreamy and appear to be in a different world."
Harry blinked in shock. That sounded like Luna Lovegood from his old time. She was a Lunar Elemental?
"The fourth Level of Elemental abilities are Holy and Shadow. I believe that I've already explained these elements to you last lesson." Professor Green said and glanced at his notes.
"Ah, the fifth level." He said slowly. He turned his gaze onto the class. "The fifth level is considered a myth to some wizards. The fifth level of Elemental Abilities holds only one type, Chaos. Chaos is simply used to make chaos and mayhem. It is destructive, powerful and devastating. The last Chaos user was Supreme King Zanarka. He was an evil king of Atlanta about 300 years. There was a huge war and the king was killed. However, the King managed to kill and murder every single rebel soldier and unleash his powers just before he died to decimate the entire island. Atlantis used to be the size of Tasmania, a small island that is owned by Australia. Once Zanarka was done, there was no trace left of it." He finished softly.
"He must have been very powerful." Rodolphus said with a speculative glint in his eyes.
"He was. Luckily for the world, the last remaining knowledge of how to obtain the rank of Chaos was lost with him." Professor Green said. "Anyway, to those who have Elemental Abilities. I have been able to find tutors for you. Mr. Potter, Mr. Black, Mr. Lupin, I was able to find three Unspeakables who would be glad to teach you how to control your powers."
"Cool! When do we start?" James said anxiously. He had let go of his parent's memories and was working anxiously to prove himself to others that he could be as good as them.
"Very soon Mr. Potter." Professor Green said with a smile on his face. "They will arrive a little after Christmas. Now Ms Evans, I was unable to find somebody to tutor you but luckily Albus Dumbledore was passing by and gladly offered his services."
Lily looked perked up after hearing that she would be learning under the greatest wizard of the century.
"And Harry, I couldn't find a tutor for your elemental abilities in shadow so Ms Bellatrix Black will be tutoring you in that field. She had previous tutoring from an Auror who unfortunately died in the Battle of Hogwarts. As for your abilities for lightning, I was able to find several books on the subject but I'm afraid that you will have to learn the hard way by trial and error."
Harry nodded thoughtfully.
Halloween went by very quietly, too quietly for Harry's tastes. Ever since he had joined the Wizarding world something had always gone wrong on this day. Harry felt as if he was asking too much by hoping that this would be a normal Halloween. As usual there were decorations hanging in the hall with dark hangings, a stormy sky and floating pumpkins.
"You look a little tense. Well, more tense than usual." Bellatrix commented at Dinner. She had taken the news that she was Harry's new tutor with excitement and was looking forward to the lessons with the 6th year green eyes boy.
"It's Halloween. I hate Halloween." Harry muttered as he picked with his food.
"Superstitious?" Narcissa asked.
"No, it's just that since I was introduced in the Wizarding World something bad has happened on this day." Harry commented.
"Like what?" Narcissa questioned.
"Well, a troll attack when I was 11, My friends got petrified when I was 12, At 13 my room was attacked by an escaped convict, When I was 14 I was forced into a magical binding contract and last year was a total disaster, even without Halloween." Harry muttered. "I can only pray that this year will be normal."
A loud scream echoed throughout the halls and Harry groaned as everyone looked up from their dinners.
"Shit. This always happens." Harry moaned as a ghost floated in the hall at top speed. It was Nearly Headless Nick.
"HEADMASTER!" The ghost yelled.
"What is it Nicholas?" Albus asked.
"Demons!" Nicholas gasped. "They breached the wards through the plumbing!"
Albus' eyes widened. "Minerva, seal the Great Hall. Filius, strengthen the outer wards. Jason, you and Skye come with me."
Harry rolled his eyes as students started to panic. He pulled out his wand and gave it a quick flick, watching as sparks flew from it. "Told you that today was going to be bad." He said to Narcissa. He aimed his wand at the doors as Minerva sealed them shut after Albus, Moon and Green left. Minerva flicked her wand and the hall expanded by at least 3 times its usual size. Perfect place for a battleground. Some of the older students helped Minerva as she transformed tables into battle placements.
"20 Galleons say they break into here." Harry muttered to Bellatrix.
"Knowing how your luck goes in Halloween, I think I'll keep my money." She whispered back.
Soon enough there was a pounding on the door. Some 1st years screamed as the door splintered, even with the powerful sealing spell. Minerva tightened her grip on her wand and launched several powerful re-enforcing spells at the door to try to keep the door standing upright. It was no use and the door splintered and several creatures pushed past the fragmented ruins.
The Demons were all different. There were at least a dozen of them, some had four legs, some had tails, some had wings but all had the same black obsidian eyes with no pupils. Several resembled humans while other resembled giant bats, one resembled an eel with 8 tentacles and two looked like giant cats.
"Shit!" Bellatrix said in shock. No one moved, not even Minerva. Harry gripped his wand and slowly withdrew his old wand. Then, it all began.
Minerva launched several powerful pale blue spells that hit two humanoid demons. They gave a loud inhumane scream and growled. They ran forward faster than anyone could see and leaped high into the air, soaring at least three meters before jumping down. The other demons charged and several students started sending off spells. Most glanced off the Demons but some hurt them, leaving scorch marks on their wrinkled grey skin.
Harry flicked his wand and muttered. "Silpormo!"
A white beam lanced into a bat like demon, and the Demon screeched as it was launched into a wall. Harry quickly ducked as one of the cat Demons took a swipe at him. He rolled to his left but wasn't quick enough as it pounced on him, claws slicing through his robes. He grunted and kicked at the Demon. It gave a cry of pain and Harry pushed it away from him. He fumbled his wand and as the Demon made another pounce.
"Avada Kedavra!" He cried and a jet of green light hit the unsuspecting creature in the face. The Demon dropped like a stone, but panted in pain. The Killing curse hadn't killed it. He staggered up and leveled his wand at the wounded Demon.
"Croitoso!" He muttered and a flash of silver later, a Demon head fell to the ground. He heard someone scream his name and he quickly spun to see a demon with his tail poised, just about to stab him.
"Fuck." Harry mumbled in horror and tried to raise his wand. The tailed sliced through the air and Harry jumped back. The tail missed his head and connected with his wand, his old one. The Demon gave a cry as its blade melted and Harry's wand dropped to the ground in two pieces. As Harry whipped out his other one his wand pieces started vibrating. Both Harry and the Demon glanced down at the now golden glowing pieces of wood. The shine got brighter and brighter until Harry tried to jump back. The Demon had similar ideas and they both back away. The shine got so bright that Harry had to shield his eyes then a deafening explosion filled his ears and a huge golden web of flames filled his vision before a searing pain swept over his body and he fell unconscious.
A/N- That's right, Demons! I can tell you that this fiction will finish soon and the next story will focus on 7th year and the Rise of the Order of Phoenix as well as the starting of Demon Breeding grounds and what Harry, Lily, Narcissa and Bellatrix do to try to stop them. After the sequel will be another fiction, mainly about Harry after Hogwarts and the battle of the ages. I might write a story about what Harry does within the 4 years before October 31st, 1981 and after Graduation if I'm up to it. Keep in mind that the date in this chapter is now October 31st. 1975. They'll graduate Hogwarts in 1977 and on October 31st, 1981 Voldemort will be defeated…or will he?
Chapter Forty Four
Author's Notes: I'm not a fan of Inuyasha, I've never seen an episode of the show so don't expect a fox demon or whatever to pop up. Demons are evil; there are no half demons or what not. Bellatrix won't be in the paring anymore, so it will be Harry/Lily/Narcissa. Some people are still complaining about the ship. My advice, don't read my story. I find it strange that people like Lucius/Draco pairings but a lot of people complain about my ship. Is it because it's not slash?
Once again I'm at my Dad's house so I'll probably miss a lot of grammar mistakes because I'm writing this with wordpad and there isn't any Spellcheck or Word Count.
Harry murmured slightly as he felt the pull of consciousness. He rolled over on his bed and groaned as a piercing pain swept through his skull.
"Ow." He groaned quietly and opened his tired eyes. There was a light in front of him that was mixed with colors of gold, red, black and white and Harry tried to raise his arm to pluck the colored balls out of the sky when his eyes finally adjusted. He stared into the anxious faces of Narcissa, Bellatrix, Lily and Albus.
"Hi." Harry said when he tried to sit up.
"Don't overexert yourself." Albus cautioned as he pushed the young man back into the bed. Harry relented and gazed around at his surroundings. He was in the hospital wing on the bed that he usually slept in whenever he had gotten into trouble before at Hogwarts. He was in this bed after Quirrell, when his arm bones were removed, when the Dementors invaded the grounds, after the Third task and after the Department of Mysteries.
"What happened?" Harry asked.
"Demons attacked the school." Narcissa said, concern in her eyes.
Harry could faintly recall some grey leathery demons trying to pounce on him. Suddenly, everything came back to him and he groaned.
"Shit, my wand!" he muttered as he recalled the blinding explosion that had landed him in the hospital wing.
"Yes, I'm afraid that your wand was completely destroyed." Albus said, "Though I do believe that you have another one."
"Yeah I do. Why did it explode?" Harry asked.
"That wand was made from a phoenix feather, was it not?" Albus asked. At Harry's confirmation he continued. "A phoenix is a very powerful creature. When your wand broke the phoenix feather became unstable. What you saw was a very powerful elemental explosion."
"Damn. I liked that wand too." Harry muttered.
"Stuff the wand! We were worried about you!" Bellatrix exclaimed in relief.
"She's right." Lily spoke up for the first time. She looked pale and her eyes were clouded with emotion. "I saw the explosion. It was huge, wiped out four Demons and injured a few students. You were the worst though. You've been unconscious for 4 days."
"Four days!" Harry said and bolted upright, before groaning and lying down again. "Can someone get me a pain relieving potion or something? My head hurts like hell."
Albus took a vial of orange liquid from his robes and passed it on to Harry, who gratefully swallowed the liquid. It tasted like most potions do, like shit but Harry could feel his headache diminishing and the aches in his body fading.
"Thanks Albie." Harry said gratefully as he tossed the vial over his shoulder.
"Albie?" Albus asked in amusement. "I haven't been called Albie since my brother cast inappropriate charms on his goat and gave him a rotten attitude."
"Inappropriate charms?" Lily asked. "That sounds...weird."
"Not those kind of inappropriate charms." Albus said and chuckled lightly at Lily's rapidly reddening face.
"Right." Lily said hastily. "I knew that."
"So, about the Demons?" Harry asked. Albus sighed wearily, which he seemed to be doing a lot lately.
"They were merely what Muggles would call cannon fodder. They were sent as a threat." Albus said.
"They were easy to kill so why are they so bad?" Bellatrix asked.
"Those were merely simple demons, not very powerful. The Demons we have to worry about are the giant flame elementals called Firagan, with coal black eyes and legs the size of a tree. The Qendishi, Giant ice elemental Demons who fly high before swooping in a single but lethal pounce, the Shadow wraiths, who cleave humans with their swords of pure evil and also the Delrith, a human sized demon with enough power to level a Quidditch pitch." Albus said, the twinkle gone from his eyes.
"Shit." Harry said.
"Indeed. The war has just gotten more difficult." Albus said.
"But Voldemort never used Demons in the first uprising. I could have sworn that..." Harry trailed off, as if noticing Bellatrix and Narcissa were still in the room.
"Oh keep going." Narcissa said. "We've known for quite some time that you're from the future."
"How?" Harry asked in disbelief.
"Easy really." Bellatrix said and shrugged. "Especially when you left a History of Magic book in your room. We read through and pieced the information together. It was very burnt but we could tell that it was made in the future which meant that you had to come from the future."
"Wow. You said a whole sentence without being hyper. I'm impressed." Harry said to Bellatrix.
"Shut it, Potter." Bellatrix shot back.
"What the fuck do you know?" Harry demanded.
"I'm a Legilimens. On Halloween, Lily was upset enough to let her mental shields fall and I saw your entire conversation." Bellatrix said smugly.
"And you don't care that I'm a Potter?" Harry asked.
"Do you care that we're Blacks?" Bellatrix shot back.
"Good Point." Harry muttered and shot a look to Albus only to see that the wizard was not surprised at all.
"I have known since Halloween as well. I detected the use of an Unforgivable and was able to view the last of your spat with Miss Evans." Albus said cheerfully, as if illegal pain curses were regularly used at a school.
Lily blanched and she waited for the axe to fall. "So you saw me...?" she trailed off.
"Saw you what? All I saw was a lovely young couple fight and an instrument that needs to be fixed." Albus answered casually.
"Really?" Lily said in shock.
"Really what?" Albus said cryptically.
Lily turned to Harry, who shrugged and pasted a look on confusion on his face. "I don't know what you're talking about. Besides, that curse sucked. What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Lily said and beamed as if a load of weight had come off her shoulders.
Harry just rolled his eyes in disbelief and grumbled to himself. "Is the whole world against me?"
"Not really, just us." Lily said and smiled for a second.
"So, now what?" Harry asked. There was silence.
"We must persevere. The timeline has been changed vastly from what it should have been. I have been waiting for the consequences of your actions and have found that none will be coming." Albus said.
"Consequences?" Narcissa asked.
"I shouldn't exist in this time." Harry said. "So me changing things have obviously changed the future."
"There is not future, at least not from where you come from." Albus explained. At Harry's startled look he started explaining his theories. "There has been much research done on the effects of time travel. Many people have speculated on what would happen if such large time travel was possible. You see, despite the numerous inventions and updates in the time turners, we have not been able to travel back in time for more than a few hours. You however, have traveled decades to reach this time. May I ask how you managed to do that?"
"I was in mid apparition when I was hit by a curse called Alvei Paocabre." Harry said, his mind going back to that day. He had thought long and hard to why he had been transported here and he couldn't find any reason.
"The chances of opening a time portal in a vortex of magic are very slim, if impossible." Albus said.
"Eh?" Bellatrix uttered.
"He means that the curse that disrupted my Apparition had an extremely low chance of doing it. In other words, it was a fluke." Harry translated.
"Anyway, as I was saying. No one has ever traveled as far back in time that we know of. Then again, somebody may have done so but kept their mouths shut." Albus continued. "A very famous researcher wrote a thesis on this a long time ago when I was a child. He said that if someone managed to disrupt the flow of time then four things could happen." Albus paused here to pluck a lemon drop into his mouth.
"And those four things were...?" Harry pressed the aged wizard.
"Number one: The flow of magic would become distorted and lead into chaos with the eventual destruction of the entire Universe." Albus said seriously.
"Shit!" Harry exclaimed. "I hope that doesn't happen!"
"Real smooth Harry." Narcissa said sarcastically.
"I find it unlikely that the Universe will be destroyed as it is only a theory and if it were to happen, it would have happened already." Albus said to placate Harry's fears.
"Thank God." Harry sighed and shifted in his bed.
"The next theory was that if the person were to meet their past self, both would be destroyed and wiped from existence." Albus frowned, trying to remember his old teacher's work.
"Well since I'm not born yet, that won't be a problem." Harry said.
"The Third option was that if you met your past self, they would merge into one being. However, your human emotions would cease to exist and you would both die due to the strain of having two magical cores. The magic would overload and literally eat you alive."
"Again, not a problem." Harry muttered.
"The fourth option was that if the timeline was disrupted, then the future from where the traveler came from would cease to exist, along with himself." Albus finished.
"None of them make sense." Bellatrix said.
"I understand that." Albus said. "For what I believed has happened that Harry has opted option four. However, if one were to remember the rules of magic then they would know that the first rule is that magic is everywhere and it can't be created or destroyed. Rather like the rule Muggle's have for matter. Harry is or was under the influence of a prophecy. A prophecy is a very powerful thing and is magic's way of equalizing the balance of the universe. Since Prophecy's are made by magic and Harry was bound by one, when Harry traveled back to this year and first disrupted the flow of time, the prophecy acted as a shield and was consumed instead of Harry. So Harry now can only exist in our generation. His future does not exist anymore. It is true that he hasn't been born yet but he is here and he can't be erased. He won't be erased so Harry must live out his life starting from now in this timeline." Albus finished.
"Eh?" Bellatrix uttered.
"In other words, I'm here to stay." Harry said. "Well, that's both good news and bad news. Good news, I can stay here and fight without a stupid prophecy. Bad news, I won't see my friends for a very long time. Albus, can the prophecy be created again?"
"I would not think so. You bought the prophecy here so Magic has voided the start of it, counting on you or Lord Voldemort to complete it without the recital." Albus said.
"You make it sound like magic is alive." Narcissa said.
"In a way, Magic is alive yet in a way magic is a tool. The magic we use is just fragments of the magic that was used to create the universe. Billions of years ago there was an influx of magical activity, which compressed the universe and all of it's inhabitants. Then it exploded, creating a new universe. In millions of years, the universe will compress itself once again to start another formation." Albus said, thoughts on faraway places and arcane knowledge.
"How do you know that?" Lily asked, her eyes wide.
"Many people have studied our start of existence, and that is the rarely known theory that came out of all research and experiments. The power used to create the universe is a topic among popular myths. I believe that they still study it today, in a sealed room in the Department of Mysteries." Albus replied.
Harry stiffened. That was the Power the Dark Lord knew not?
"What is it Harry?" Lily asked in concern.
"Is there a way to use that power?" Harry asked rapidly.
"Not fully. The Ancient warlocks were able to wield the higher magic to a certain extent. I myself know how to use it to a limited function. Why do you ask?" Albus asked.
"Because when you revealed the Prophecy to me, you said that I had a power that was studied in a sealed room in the Department of Mysteries." Harry questioned.
Albus frowned. "There is more than one sealed room in the Department of Mysteries. I will look into it however and brief you if I find any details. Even if you could use that power, you would only be able to use a fraction of it like I. You can only channel so much magic from your body before overloading. Equivalent to a Muggle Nuclear Bomb is all you would be able to use before you would die. I will not lie to you, people have tried this at a level of a cheering charm and died. If the Prophecy did state this, then I expect that you would be able use it once but very minimally. People have tried to go over their limit and have been destroyed or driven insane. Only a few have survived and they were changed forever."
"Like Voldemort." Harry said softly.
"Yes, Tom played with magic's out of his control and they twisted him and warped his mind. He could never reverse what he has done to himself. He is very powerful and has channeled so much Higher Magicks in his body that he is no longer considered human."
"So I can use this magic against Voldemort. Why hasn't Voldemort ever tried to use it against Hogwarts?" Harry inquired.
"He has before but the wards were created by four very powerful people. He can not destroy them, only shut them down temporarily. I think he has now channeled his power into creating and summoning Demons."
"Shit. So even with the power, I'd still be hard pressed." Harry muttered.
"Fear not. Even without this power, you are still the Dark Lord's equal in magic." Albus reassured.
"I still have to boost my magic to reach his level." Harry said and tried to get up before being pushed down.
"Harry!" Lily scolded.
"But I have to..." Harry protested before relaxing and falling on his back, asleep. Albus sheathed his wand.
"He has had enough excitement for one day." Albus said. "Now we should leave him to rest."
After taking down the silencing wards, the group left, leaving a sleeping Harry behind.
Chapter Forty Five
Author's Notes: So people want Bellatrix to stay? Fine, I really didn't want to remove her anyway but for the life of me I can't figure out how I'll have the three girls get with Harry AND not kill each other in the process. So Bellatrix is back in. The Power I was talking about is just power. No little abilities or whatnot. For the guy who wanted a list of spells I used, I really don't have the time but I know a very comprehensive place to get some. Go to Spells and Creatures, by Ashen Haakon. There you will find an extremely good spell list. It's easier to just search the title at the Search Engine.
Harry was released from the hospital wing a few days later. His friendship with Lily seemed to be back and though she seemed hesitant to rekindle any romance with him, she would still send him odd glances filled with something every now and then. Harry wasn't sure what it was and considering his track record with girls he doubt he ever would. Fighting Dark Lords, Bring it on! Slaying Demons, Come get some! Using the Darkest of Dark Arts, why not? Try to think how a girl works…well; let's just hope they have space left at Saint Mungo's for him.
His friendship with Narcissa and Bellatrix seemed to have grown as well. He had always kept away a little bit just in case that they proved not to be trustworthy. While he could use Legilimency to find out Narcissa's intentions, Bellatrix knew both Occlumency and Legilimency. There was no way for Harry to slip through her shields unless he batted his way through. He may have been an average Legilimens, but he didn't rank anywhere near the scale of Voldemort and Albus. There was also no way of knowing if Bellatrix had shown Narcissa a trick or two to block her intentions. So Harry had tried to keep away from them and not get too attached. He finally came up with the idea to ask Lily about what her Poldumency powers said. She said that while they were hesitant, they were trustworthy enough to keep his secret. That also saved Harry the trouble of an Obliviation. However, he knew that any decent Legilimens would be able to get past the mental shield spells Narcissa kept constantly around herself. So he started thinking of a plan. Then, an idea clicked.
November breezed through fast. The Demon attack had been on the front page of the Daily Prophet and many parents had considered taking their children from school. Albus had been flooded with Howlers on why he let an army of Demons into the school. Albus had written each and every single parent back saying that Voldemort had temporarily neutralized the wards and begged them to reconsider their decision on taking their children out of Hogwarts. He had to explain that this was the safest place they could be and that as long as there was breath in his body, Hogwarts would not fall. The parents had reluctantly agreed in keeping them there and some had warned that the next time something like this happened, they would go to the School Governors. Albus knew those threats were just bluffs but pretended to heed their advice.
Currently, Albus was sitting in his office going over some paperwork in the construction of a Technomagic weapon. He had been designing these for a long time and with the help of Nicholas Flamel and hopefully Harry, he could finish them. The materials to get them were hard to get so only a few could be built at a time but those few would be a blessing for the side of light. Technomagic was Muggle technology mixed with Magic. It was hard to do since most magic didn't mix well with Electricity but it had been done. Albus had gotten his idea when he was reading in the newspaper of the Vietnam War. The Muggle guns had seemed like the perfect weapon to improve on and since then he had been working on this secret project, Codenamed: Alley Ball.
Albus was startled out of his thoughts by a loud knock on his door. He glanced over at a small, sleek golden rectangle and it flickered before showing a picture of a green eyes, black haired teenager with a Slytherin crest on his robes.
"Come in Harry." Albus called. Harry walked in looking bemused.
"I never learnt how you did that." He said as he took a seat.
"Did what?" Albus asked.
"How you know who's at the door." Harry responded.
"I have my ways." Albus said and winked. Harry snorted and looked curiously over the paperwork and the complex Arithmancy Albus was doing.
"What's this?" Harry asked.
"A little idea I've been tinkering with." Albus said absently.
"Looks more than a little. A titanium shell, four vampiric crystals, enough wires to connect a circuit board, shit! This is a gun!" Harry exclaimed in surprise.
"I didn't know you knew Arithmancy." Albus said, his eyes twinkling at the astonished Slytherin.
"Tom knew it." Harry said as he browsed through the papers.
"Ah." Albus said as if it explained everything. It did.
"Damn! A Crystallized Phoenix flame, an Antarctic gem, a desert rose, a pinch of Elixir of Life, what's this thing meant to do, shoot people or be a bomb. There's enough elemental components in here to cause a serious explosion." Harry mumbled.
"As in Self destruct? Yes that is one of its features." Albus said.
"This will take a while to build." Harry said and dropped the papers back on the desk.
"It will. I would like to ask your help in building it." Albus said as he sat back, his twinkling blue eyes scanning Harry.
"Me? Hell no!" Harry snapped.
"It would be a benefit to the team if you helped." Albus stated.
"I'll probably do more damage than good." Harry warned.
"I sincerely doubt that." Albus commented.
"You never know, for all I know I might make it into a microwave, or a radio." Harry frowned.
"A microwave?" Albus questioned.
"Never mind." Harry sighed. "I'll help. What do you need?"
"Just another spell caster in securing the components together. You don't need any knowledge, just power."
"Wait! You had me worried for that? Crazy coot!" said a disgruntled Harry.
Albus just chuckled and glanced out the window. It was a cold day, but as it was a Saturday, students were playing in the snow and having snowball wars.
"So, what brings you to my humble adobe? I'm sure a young teenager such as yourself would have plenty of other things to do then listen to the ramblings of an old man." Albus said lightly.
"You're not old." Harry protested.
"I am 156 years old." Albus stated.
"Well, that's old if you're going to live as a Muggle but as a wizard you still have at least 100 years left." Harry said.
"Ah! The bluntness of youth." Albus laughed.
"Anyway, is it possible for the Fidelius Charm to be used to hide certain knowledge."
"No. Though there is a spell similar that would help you. I am guessing that this is about the knowledge Narcissa and Bellatrix knows?" Albus presumed.
"Yeah." Harry sighed. "If Tom or his little arse kissers…I mean Death Eaters got a hand on that knowledge…and even you know that the Black family supports his ideals fully."
"I understand. I will cast the Secretus Charm when you are ready. Do you want to be the information holder?" Albus queried.
"Information holder?" Harry asked in confusion.
"It is the same as a Secret Keeper." Albus explained.
Harry shrugged. "Why not?"
"Well then, I believe that you've spent enough of this day in my office. Out you go, have fun… like teenagers should." Albus bode wisely. Harry left and Albus smiled gently. Even after all that had happened to him, Harry was able to have fun.
December came and the ground was covered in a thick layer of snow. The lake had completely iced over and sometime the Great Squid could be seen swimming under the 4 cm of ice. Narcissa and Bellatrix and even Lily and Albus had been very compliant with the Secretus Charm and now Harry was relieved that even if one of them wanted to tell someone, they couldn't. Unless he told them to tell somebody the secret, or told somebody himself, the secret would never be revealed.
Harry was doing well in his classes. He was tied with Lily at the top of his Charms class and held the title as best Defence Against the Dark Arts wand for over 50 years. With Professor Green, whose teaching skills Harry had to say rivaled Remus Lupin's in the future, he mastered curses and strategies. He absorbed defense skills and was reading material that was far beyond Hogwarts and somewhere in the 3rd class Auror programs.
With his large repertoire of spells, Dark Arts and Light, His elemental abilities, where Bellatrix was teaching him some very useful things such as shifting his body into shadow and transforming an item into shadow (Such as an opponents wand.) and his lightning abilities, where he was able to send deadly bolts of purple cackling energy from his fingers and to conjure a lance of lightning from the sky to strike at his opponent, he was confident that he was gaining enough strength for his next inevitable encounter with Voldemort.
Voldemort had been staying very quiet and there were rumors that he was preparing for another ritual. Harry saw how powerful Voldemort had become with the last ritual he had undertaken in shortly after the battle at the Nightclub and was worried about what Strength Voldemort could obtain with this one. Harry knew that his presence here had forced Voldemort to use these rituals. In the original timeline Voldemort had not encountered such a serious threat and had been content to battle without some of these risky rituals.
Harry was also preparing himself for a ritual. He had planned to do it in the chamber of secrets. He had obtained all the ingredients he needed, which included a Chimera heart, 4 drops of phoenix blood (Which Fawkes was happy to provide) and a Demon Claw (Which he had picked up from the Demon attack just being some of the few things he needed.
But right now he was practicing his dueling with Lily, Narcissa and Bellatrix. The three together made a wonderful team. Bellatrix was the power, her curses sizzling the air and lancing into Harry's shields. No wonder why she was going to be Voldemort's second in command. Narcissa was the rune master, her carefully placed runes creating everything from shields to golems. Lily was the defensive shield expert. Her charms and counter-charms would nullify or block Harry's spells. But they couldn't pull together the raw power of skill that Harry seemed to have. Dueling came to him as flying used to.
"Stupefy!" Bellatrix said and whirled on her feet, her hair flying in the breeze. The red beam whizzed over Harry's shoulder as he sidestepped and leveled his wand at Bellatrix. They were practicing in the Room of Requirement.
"Canio! Canio! Canio! Canio!" Harry muttered. Bellatrix dropped to the ground as four cannonballs erupted from Harry's wand. They flew over Bellatrix and neared Lily, who raised her wand and gave a short flick. Three cannonballs exploded in midair and the last hit a medium sized rune golem that had been summoned by Narcissa. She had summoned four of these monstrosities and Harry had to constantly banish them back, the other two members of the team not giving him enough time to destroy them completely. Narcissa has her hands outstretched; sweat beading from her forehead as she concentrated on moving the Golems.
"Flipendo!" Harry cried and a golem was knocked back 10 feet. He weaved a spell and sent a large magenta beam at Narcissa. Bellatrix stepped in front of Narcissa and slashed her wand. A pale blue shield emitted from her wand and the magenta beam veered off. Lily jumped forward, her emerald eyes flashing and sent several dark curses at Harry. Harry narrowed his eyes and shimmered as a dark grey curse sped towards him and straight through him. He reformed and waved his wand. He conjured several large statues and animated them like Albus had done in the Ministry back in his own timeline. They moved quickly forward and started battling the Golems. He dodged a black hex and jabbed his wand in the space in front of him.
A large brick wall was conjured directly in front of him. He smirked as it was broken down and with quick, sharp movements he sent the rubble and debris careening at the girls before it had even hit the ground. Bellatrix gave a cry of pain as a large brick smashed into her head and Lily weaved a protective ward around herself. Debris smashed into it and bounced off. A Golem jumped in front of Narcissa and was battered by several pieces of flying debris.
Harry gave a grin and drew his wand with speed that would outclass an Auror. He leveled it at Bellatrix, who had formed a white shield around herself as she tried to struggle up.
"Rallentando!" Harry muttered and a pale yellow beam sizzled from his wand and hit Bellatrix's shield. For a moment it looked like nothing had happened and Harry turned to exchange curses with Lily, sparks flying from both wands as they dueled furiously. Bellatrix staggered up and was about the send off a curse when her shield gave a groan and imploded. Bellatrix was knocked out cold and Lily was startled enough to be caught by a Stunning hex in the shoulder. She fell over limply and Harry turned to Narcissa. His statues had finished killing off her golems and Harry just raised an eyebrow as she panted heavily, trying to raise her wand.
"I…give." Narcissa panted and flopped to the floor. Harry quickly revived Lily and Bellatrix and they all stretched out on the ground.
"Damn." Harry said. "You've gotten better." He praised.
"Thanks." Lily said and stared into Harry's eyes, before quickly turning away.
"Not as good as you though." Bellatrix grumbled.
"I'm an exception." Harry remarked dryly.
There was a peaceful pause as the four just contemplated their thoughts. Finally Narcissa spoke up.
"So, what happens to me in the future?" she asked hesitantly.
"You really want to know?" Harry asked. Narcissa and Bellatrix nodded eagerly while Lily seemed to close off.
"Well, I guess you know what happens to Lily." At the two Black's nods he continued.
"Narcissa, you marry Lucius Malfoy and have once son, Draco Malfoy. A perfect clone of his father." Harry said.
"Thank Merlin you came! A brat with Malfoy!" Narcissa moaned and shuddered.
"Bellatrix was the Dark Lord's second in command. She was powerful, evil and spent fourteen years in Azkaban. Oh, she also gets married to Rodolphus Lestrange." Harry said, his eyes on Bellatrix. She looked faintly disgusted.
"Ew!" she muttered. "No more, please!"
"Fine." Harry said and grinned at the disgusted looks on Narcissa's and Bellatrix faces.
There was another silence until Lily started talking.
"Ready for tomorrow?" she questioned Narcissa and Bellatrix.
"As we'll ever be." Narcissa answered.
"Sure, I can't wait to go back home to Grimmauld Place." Bellatrix said enthusiastically before rolling her eyes.
"Really?" Lily said, shocked.
"No, I was being sarcastic." Bellatrix snapped.
"Hey, that's Narcissa's job." Lily complained.
At Narcissa's offended look Harry quickly motioned to stop her outraged complaint. Narcissa sighed, rolled her eyes and wrapped an arm around Harry, content to just sit and watch Lily and Bellatrix making jibes at each other.
Author's Notes: Yay! Over 750 reviews! I'm trying to speed things up now because I think I spent too long on single days. The story doesn't have much longer, maybe five to ten chapters left before the sequel. Prepare for one more Demon attack with a very powerful Demon and One more encounter with Voldemort as well as general trouble with the Slytherin Hierarchy. To answer the questions why they haven't been doing much is because he figures that Narcissa and Bellatrix will be punished when they get home.
Harry and Lily watched as the Hogwarts express slowly puffed its way out of Hogsmeade with Narcissa and Bellatrix on board. They had been unusually subdued as they had said their goodbyes and had given both Harry and Lily hugs. Bellatrix had told them both to be careful because she thought Rodolphus was up to something while Narcissa had told them to give the Gryffindor's hell for her. By the way they were acting it was like they were going away for good. Or perhaps that's what they felt?
The holidays were full of relaxing and happiness for Harry and Lily. Severus and Louise had gone on a holiday to Majorca. Harry had almost cracked himself after hearing that, remembering the time Vernon had always complained about not being able to afford going to the tropical islands. Rodolphus, Rabastan and Nott were still at school and trying to cause trouble but one quick duel and the three sulked away, planning their revenge. Harry and Lily mainly tried to practice. Lily was getting very good at her dueling and her lessons with Albus and her Holy elemental were paying off. She could create a blinding light in a thought, wield Holy elemental spells from her wand that shone with a white brilliance and dispel minor Demons that the Room of Requirement was only too happy to provide the illusions for. Harry himself was still practicing and was about to undertake a Dark Ritual. And that brings us to this very night.
"Ready?" Lily asked anxiously. Her eyes gleamed with worry as Harry stood in the Chamber of Secrets. Harry had taken Lily down to the abandoned chamber. She had been very excited to see the remains of a once proud Founder but had willed herself to stay focused for the ritual. She had to do nothing except watch and hope he didn't kill himself. He was undertaking a complicated ritual, one that could harm him if it went wrong.
His torso was naked and he had smeared 4 drops of blood of a phoenix over his heart. The effects would be stronger as the Phoenix had willingly given the blood. A large pentagram was drawn on the floor below in powdered Demon Claw. He also had squeezed the blood out of the Chimera's heart and smeared it all over his body. This ritual was designed to make the User stronger in the physical sense. Harry had seen how strong Voldemort was, even with his bony appearance he could easily crush a stone to dust with one hand. The ritual would also make him more resistant to curses, the effects of some curses dulling with minor curses and hexes rebounding. It would increase his focus, his strength and boost his magical power by 30.
"Oh yeah." Harry muttered. Unfortunately for Harry, it would hurt like a bitch.
Lily sighed as Harry began chanting. His voice echoed throughout the dark and dusty cavern, the dark language he was speaking creating chills down Lily's spine. She could feel Dark Magic radiating off Harry as his chanting started getting stronger, His hair started blowing in an invisible breeze that had been created and the Pentagram started pulsating. Lily gave a cry of shock as Harry lit up like a high-powered torch and she staggered back as an invisible power started flowing throughout the room. She was pushed back to a pillar and shielded her eyes as the light got brighter and brighter to the level where Lily was in pain. Fumbling with her wand, she cast a blindness spell on herself and the world went black. She could still here the chanting and feel the emitting power but she couldn't see anything. Slowly, the wind died and the power faded. Soon, silence filled the room and Lily restored her sight.
Harry said the last of the incantation and dropped to the ground. A quick glance at Lily showed that she was pressed back on a pillar with a black cloud hovering in front of her face. He stood slowly and flexed his muscles. He could practically feel the power inside them coiling like a snake, ready to strike. He grinned and turned to Lily, who had just cast the counter curse. She took one look at him and gasped.
Lily gasped loudly as she took in Harry's new appearance. He had an aura of suffocating power radiating and swirling around him, dark silver tendrils flickering and cackling every so often. His torso was now clean from the blood of a Phoenix and Chimera. He had more defined muscles, and his skin was paler. His hair had grown to his shoulders and had a silver streak running through it. The two most different changes that he had were a tattoo or insignia on his chest. It depicted to large black phoenix wings with silver feathers popping up every now and then. Then there were his eyes. Instead of the beloved Emerald that she had become accustomed to, they were missing pupils and shining with a silver light like Voldemort's would shine dark crimson and Albus' would shine unholy white when they were full battle mode.
"What?" Harry asked. Lily just kept staring at him, her eyes raking over his chest. He looked down and almost gasped himself at the set of Phoenix wings imprinted on his chest. He brushed a bang of hair out of his eyes and then frowned. His hair wasn't that long…or was it? He clicked his fingers automatically and felt the familiar tang of magic as a mirror was conjured. He took a look in the mirror and this time he did gasp.
"Damn." Harry muttered to himself. Slowly, his aura was dying down and his hair had stopped swaying. His eyes had dimmed and the original green color was fading in with pupils.
"So, what do you think?" Harry asked and twirled for Lily to see. She just gave a stunned glance.
"You look…good, you look good Harry." Lily said softly.
"Thank you." Harry said and smiled. "Want to try, I have enough ingredients left over for at least three or four more rituals.
"I don't know…" Lily hesitated. "Does it hurt?"
"Almost as bad as the Cruciatus." Harry stated.
"I don't even know the spell anyway." Lily said, though she was seriously considering it. She had felt the power off Harry and had imagined herself with that power, fighting the Death Eaters to save the ones she loved, which only consisted of Ha…Damn! She had promised herself she wouldn't do this to herself.
"I can cast it for you!" Harry said, excited at the prospect.
"Well…" Lily hesitated, her brow in a frown.
"Come on! It's worth it, just trust me. Watch!" Harry encouraged and aimed his hand. With a small flick, a green light pulsated from it, several shades lighter than the killing curse. It zoomed through the air and hit the giant statue of Slytherin's knee, exploding in a burst of light on impact. When the dust settled, there was a large hole where Salazar Slytherins knee used to be.
"See. I wasn't able to use an Explosion curse wandlessly before." Harry said and then he said something that clinched the deal. "Please. I'd like you to do this."
"Oh Fine." Lily said and sighed. "What do I need to do?"
Harry froze when he heard those words. "Ah… well first…the 1st thing is to…and you need some Phoenix blood and Chimera Blood."
"But what do I do with…OH!" Lily said with realization and blushed crimson.
"Yeah, sorry." Harry grimaced. Lily said nothing and lowered her eyes to the ground. Then, with a determined glint in her eyes, she squared her jaw.
"Fine." She said softly. Harry looked at her with shock.
"You know that I'll be able to…" Harry trailed off.
"Yeah" Lily affirmed "So after the blood, then what."
"Then I'll say the spell. It goes for about two minutes." Harry explained. "Once it's over, I say a short spell to bind the ritual to your magic, so it stays permanent then it's complete."
Lily nodded. "When do we start?"
"When you are ready."
Lily took a deep breath and undid the clasp to her robe. Harry averted his eyes and she pulled the robe over her head, leaving her clad in a pair of Jeans that she always wore under her robes and a black T-shirt. She pulled the T-shirt over her head and blushed deeply as she did.
"Damn you Harry." She muttered to herself softly. "The things I do for you."
Harry blushed as well when he heard that. He fumbled with the two bottles of blood and tried to hand them to Lily without looking at her. He may have just participated in a Dark Ritual but he still had his morals. Though when his hands touched something they shouldn't have and let go of one of the bottles and he turned his head to try to catch it, he caught a glimpse at what he had touched and started cursing his morals.
"Here." Harry said gruffly as he handed the bottle over. He turned around and walked to the pillar, blushing from head to toe. He hadn't been this embarrassed…well, ever.
Lily was blushing as well, especially when Harry had touched her. She poured four drops of Phoenix blood over her heart, and then smeared Chimera blood over herself.
Harry cleared his throat as he heard the empty bottles fall to the ground. "To do this, I need eye contact."
Lily blushed again and then tried to regain composure. "Okay." She said softly and Harry turned around, his eyes widening. Clad in only Jeans, Lily was perhaps the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. His eyes roamed her body; before he visibly shook himself out of his self induced stupor and stared at her in the eyes. She stared back, emerald meeting emerald and Harry began chanting.
As Harry began chanting, Lily stared into his eyes. The eyes that were usually expressionless, due to the mask Harry wore were staring into her with something she couldn't recognize. The Pentagram started heating up and Lily opened her Empathy talents. A surge of foreign feelings assaulted her mind, and she took a few seconds to sort them out before delving into them. Affection, Pride and compassion flooded her mind and she almost staggered at the intensity of it all. But another emotion was there as well. One she could recognize all too easily. One she felt every time she saw Harry, one she tried to crush down and bend it to her will. Lily almost cried out as a wave of pain fled over her. Her body began to ache and sear and she retreated to her mind and studied the facts.
Harry loved her. Not as a mother, like he should but as a girl.
All of the arguments Lily had given herself, all of her logical reasoning for why she Shouldn't love him fled from her mind as the pain tripled then started fading. She felt her hair grow and several changes take place on her body but she took no notice as she stared into the eyes out of the glowing vortex around her. Harry met her gaze, his mouth saying inaudible words but he managed to send a quirky grin between breathes and Lily almost giggled.
As the ritual closed and the glow faded Harry rubbed his eyes. He had been able to maintain eye contact all throughout the ritual, so it had been a complete success. He looked up only to find Lily right next to him. She grabbed him and pressed him to her, while capturing his lips. Harry was stunned but did what any half naked teenager would do when he held a half naked girl in his arms, kissed back.
When they stopped, Harry took a look at the changes that had happened to Lily and gasped in surprise.
A/N- What should Lily look like? No animal parts or whatnot. Also, what should happen next chapter? Judging by the way some of you people have worded your reviews, I got a good idea of what you want but I don't want to push the limits. Then again, R Rated movies have a lot worse in them.
Chapter Forty Seven
Author's Notes: Thanks for all your reviews. As for what Lily will look like, wait and see. The 30 was meant to be 30 percent but for some reason, the percentage doesn't work very well when uploading chapters. The Chamber was abandoned as in no humans. There is still a very large basilisk around, but he is loyal to the Heir of Slytherin, not Harry.
Harry blinked as he took in Lily's changes. She had grown from her 5 foot 1 to a respectable 5'6, just two inches under his new height. Her hair was long and came down to the middle of her back. It had a single white streak that went from tip to bottom. Where Harry had a tattoo of black phoenix wings, Lily had a small set of white phoenix wings with smatterings of gold and a singe black feather in the centre. Her eyes were her usual shade of green; except she was missing her pupils and they were glowing rather eerily. Harry could spot more muscles, but like him she had lost some of her tan, her creamy skin a lot whiter and paler than before. Oh, and let's not forget her breasts.
"Are you done staring at my chest?" Lily asked with a raised eyebrow. Harry shook his head and conjured another mirror for Lily to take a look at herself in.
Lily noticed the way Harry was looking at her and blushed when she noticed that he gaze had suddenly moved to her chest.
"Are you done staring at my chest?" Lily asked dryly. Harry shook his head and conjured Lily a mirror, which she took one look in and gasped as she took in the changes.
"Wow!" she said, amazed.
"You're telling me." Harry muttered. Lily flipped him the finger and continued examining her. She traced her fingers lightly over her tattoo and when her finger touched the black one, she gasped as a surge of heat flared, just below the brink of pain. Behind her, Harry also hissed as his one responded.
"What was that?" Lily questioned, wide eyed as the small surge of heat stopped when she removed her fingers.
"I don't know." Harry responded and frowned, deep in thought. He looked to be thinking heavily on something when a light or realization dawned on his face.
"What, what?" Lily huffed impatiently.
"I'm guessing it's a little like the Dark Mark, except you can control it to some extent." Harry put forward.
"You BRANDED ME!" Lily shrieked. Her Aura flared, emerald green and white flickering around her.
"No!" Harry exclaimed, horrified. "The ritual had been modified from another one I had known about. The other one…didn't suit my tastes. So when I cast the ritual for you, it had a different effect because I was the one controlling the magic, not you and it was set within a different set of parameters."
"Oh." Lily uttered and her Aura flared down as she calmed herself.
"You need to control that." Harry remarked and turned away. "Oh, anytime you want to put on a shirt?"
Lily just gave him a withering glare which he brushed off and snapped her fingers. A black and tight shirt appeared over her. "Much better." She muttered.
"I didn't know that you could do wandless magic." Harry said.
"What are you talking about…oh." Lily uttered as she realized what she had done.
"Maybe we should test ourselves." Harry supplied.
"Good idea." Lily agreed and Harry cast a charm. A heavy thud was heard as the seeing stone was transported to the Chamber of Secrets.
Lily grasped it and small writing began tracing itself on a piece of parchment. Finally, the stone stopped glowing and Lily picked up the parchment.
"It says, Charms 100, Defence Against the Dark Arts 95, Healing 93, Dark Arts 91." Lily read with surprise clouded in her voice.
"Hey! That's pretty good!" Harry smiled and patted her on the back. "See, I told you this would be a good idea."
"Yeah, yeah. Arrogant git." Lily mumbled as she started reading her abilities.
"This says, Occlumency Abilities (89), Animagus skills, Elemental Abilities in Holy (96), Empathy (96), Parseltongue, Poldumency abilities (80), Wandless Magic (50), Apparition abilities and Healing abilities (99)"
"That's pretty good." Harry praised before gazing speculatively at Lily. "But I'm pretty sure that you weren't a Parseltongue before or had the ability for Wandless magic."
"I know! How did it happen?" Lily asked and groaned. Things were just getting more complicated.
"Maybe…" Harry trailed off. "Maybe when I cast that ritual, Instead of just focusing your magic I actually gave a bit of myself to you."
Lily was silent. Then, she spoke. "That make sense…in an odd sort of way. What about you, did I give anything to you?"
"Shall we see?" Harry offered and took the stone. He grasped it and when it had done its scan he picked up the parchment and started reading out loud. "120 in Dark Arts, 120 in Battle Magic, 100 in Defence against the Dark Arts and 90 in Transfiguration. Shit, how did that happen?"
"You went past the limit." Lily said. "I thought Professor Green said that you couldn't get over 100?"
"He meant naturally. Rituals could take you anywhere." Harry said absently, his mind wheeling. This was perfect. He was finally starting to get the strength he needed to battle.
"What about your abilities?" Lily asked. Harry glanced down and started reading out loud.
"Apparition, Animagus, Elemental Magic in Lightning (90) and Shadow (100), Empathy (50) Legilimency (90), Occlumency (100), Parseltongue, Wandless Magic (75),"
"So, you didn't get anything from me?" Lily pouted. "Doesn't seem fair. Though your Elemental abilities are higher as well as your Legilimency and Wandless magic. But for some reason your Empathy has gone down."
"Probably trying to compensate for the increase in the other abilities." Harry commented.
"Then why didn't your specialties go down?" Lily pressed.
"They probably did. Remember, it only shows the four highest classes. I bet my potions and Divination scores are low, well lower than they already were." Harry explained.
"There's only one side effect of this ritual." Harry warned.
"The appearance right? What are we going to do about our appearances?" Lily asked.
"Huh?"
"We've grown over 4 inches and gained looks we didn't have yesterday." Lily said impatiently.
"Trust me, if you had looked like that yesterday…" Harry trailed off suggestively.
"Are you hitting on me?" Lily narrowed her eyes.
"Maybe." Harry teased.
Lily grinned and stalked towards Harry. She looped her arms around him and pulled him close.
"Is this what you want?" Lily asked huskily, her hair tickling Harry's face.
"The…" Harry gulped at the look of lust in her eyes. "The ritual…changes the chemical balance…in brains…more hormones produced…emotions amplified…only three hours."
Lily shrugged and pounced on Harry, swinging her legs around Harry's waist as she captured Harry's mouth. Harry staggered back as he drank in the kiss and hit a pillar. Lily pulled back and grinned. She flicked her hand and her top and jeans disappeared, leaving her clad in a silky black bra and panties.
"You weren't wearing those before." Harry said. "We shouldn't do this, you're being affected…MMPH!"
When Lily broke the kiss he sighed. "Fuck it. So am I." Flicking his wrist he conjured a large bed and stripped himself to his boxers. Dumping Lily on the bed, he pounced on her with a wicked grin on his face.
THE NEXT MORNING
Harry groaned and rolled over. He hit something warm and opened his tired eyes and yawned. When he focused them, he saw a mop of red hair in front of him. Stifling a gasp, he sat up and saw Lily next to him. Naked. Using his robes as a blanket.
"Fuck!" Harry snapped softly. It was enough to wake up Lily and she yawned as she sat up before looking around. Her face paled and she whirled to find Harry sitting right next to her.
"What the fuck!" She yelled. Her mind racing, she recounted last night's events. Groaning, she put her head in her hands. "Did I really do that?" she moaned in embarrassment.
"Oh yeah. Twice." Harry replied then smirked. "And once in the morning."
"Shut it." Lily snapped. She lay back down on the conjured mattress. "Well, a very…interesting side affect Harry."
"Thanks." Harry said cautiously. "So…you're not going to kill me anytime soon, are you?" he asked anxiously.
"Nah." Lily said lazily.
"Oh, good." Harry commented. There was silence until Lily spoke up.
"You angry?" she asked.
"Nup." Harry responded. "You?"
"Nah." Lily answered. "Any regrets?"
"Hell no." Harry muttered. "You?"
"Me either." Lily said, her eyes staring at the wall. "So, now what?" she ventured.
"Depends on what you want." Harry answered.
"I could get used to this." She said sleepily. Harry smiled and hugged her.
"So could I." He said. He lie down again and put his arms around Lily, sleepiness catching up to him.
"Any questions?" he asked.
"…Later." Lily said and yawned. She closed her eyes, leaving Harry awake as she drifted off. Closing his eyes and inhaling her scent, he went back to sleep, content to sleep in.
When Lily and Harry emerged from the Chamber of Secrets, a lot of people were surprised with their appearance save Albus. He had give Harry and Lily a wink when they strolled in for lunch admits the reactions of the hall which made them think on exactly how much Albus could see or sense in Hogwarts. At the Gryffindor table, James Potter gasped as an angel walked in holding hands with Harry.
"Damn! Is that Lily?" Sirius said, wide-eyed.
"Hell yeah!" Peter said, memorized.
"I'd sure like to bone her." Sirius muttered.
James narrowed his eyes at the clasped hands. He had given up on trying to get Lily but seeing her as she was now, he just had to get her.
The Christmas holidays passed quickly. Harry and Lily was now officially a couple. Lily had gotten over the fact that she was his mother in a different timeline and was seen constantly snuggling up to the Black haired Slytherin. Rodolphus had drooled when he had seen Lily which had ended with him getting a broken nose when he tried to fondle her and Harry serving a detention if Professor Flitwick's office, where he spent the evening talking about magic. Professor Flitwick was pleased that his favorite student had gotten someone to look after her. He had spent a lot of time holding a crying Lily during her younger years due to bullying. When he had seen the little incident, he had been overjoyed to see Harry react so strongly. He figured Lily could use the extra attention.
James Potter had been on a quest the last 2 weeks to woo over Lily. She had gotten so sick of him that her Aura had flared. James Potter was unlucky enough to be hit by the swirling magical energies and was stuck in the hospital wing for two days.
Lily and Harry continued seeing each other, and each night they would travel down to the Chamber of Secrets to practice. Harry had made sure that the Basilisk was asleep and had sealed the entrance, not wanting to kill such a magnificent creature. They practice their new strengths and magical abilities and were able to gain mastery in controlling the effects of the latest ritual. Harry had started writing up a new one to strengthen them yet again. He and Lily had discussed letting Bellatrix and Narcissa perform the ritual as well, and had agreed to it if the two girls were willing.
While in the Chamber of Secrets they had experimented with the properties of the Black feather. Lily could only alert Harry she was in trouble. But Harry could control it much like Voldemort did with the Dark Mark. He could summon her, and she would automatically be able to apparate to his position…when she learned how to apparate, something he planned on fixing very soon. He could sense her emotions and locations so if she ever got into trouble Harry would be able to find her. The mark was dubbed the Feather, A name that may have not been original, but could be used in a casual conversation leaving any eavesdroppers confused. They continued their late night escapades, both enjoying their new bodies with each other.
And so the days dwindled until it Harry and Lily woke up in the Chamber of Secrets on Christmas Day.
