After taking a quick look at the contents of the box, Kevin pondered for a moment, then called over the Sea-Dolphin beside him and said, "Can you do me a favor?"

"What favor?"

"Help me find a deep place, the deeper the better."

Kevin said to the Sea-Dolphin.

The Sea-Dolphin circled around Kevin, then let out a sharp cry, calling its companions.

Before long, a message came from its companions, leading the Sea-Dolphins and Kevin to swim towards the deeper center of the ocean.

Once they reached the spot the Sea-Dolphins had found, Kevin manipulated the water currents, digging a large pit beneath the deepest part of the seabed.

He threw the box into it, then covered it up and filled it in, ensuring it wouldn't be carried out by the ocean currents.

Only then did he clap his hands in satisfaction.

Didn't The Boys just want to buy time? Then Kevin would help them out, making sure Translucent was neither seen alive nor found dead.

Buried at this depth, let alone Homelander, even if DC's Aquaman himself came, it would be tough for him to find such a box.

As for Vought International tracker buried inside Translucent's body…

When Kevin opened the box earlier, he had endured the nausea to find it and casually tossed it into a pile of garbage in a ditch, so there was no need to worry about Vought tracking it down.

"Develop peacefully, don't be reckless."

Kevin told himself this.

The later The Boys confront Vought International, the more time Kevin would have to develop, and the more retirement money he could earn for himself.

"Alright, I didn't find anything. There's no Translucent in the sea. I'll go back and say just that. Let's go."

Kevin turned to head back.

But after swimming for a while on the seabed, Kevin suddenly noticed a huge dark shadow.

Upon closer inspection, Kevin discovered it was an ancient ship that had sunk to the bottom of the sea.

Wait? An ancient ship??

Kevin was stunned at first, then his eyes gradually lit up, like glowing light bulbs.

Without thinking, he swam into the ancient ship and began to search it.

Searching and rummaging.

Kevin found a box.

Opening the box, it was, as expected, filled with what looked like very expensive jewels.

After more rummaging, Kevin found another box.

Opening that box, Kevin obtained two relatively intact pieces of gold.

Pure gold.

"I'm rich, I'm rich, I'm rich! Holy crap, why didn't I think of this before! Why stay at Vought International if I want to get rich? How much better to just go out to sea and be a treasure hunter! Isn't this much better than constantly slaving away filming!?"

Thinking about it carefully, how many ships have sunk on the sea throughout history, and how many of them were merchant ships laden with rare jewels?

Even if he didn't find all these ships, finding just one or two would be enough for Kevin to acquire unimaginable wealth!

He had such a large 'treasure mountain' at his disposal, yet he only just discovered it now…

As soon as Kevin thought this, he couldn't stop salvaging jewels from the seabed.

After spending a considerable amount of time salvaging a good number of jewels from the seabed, Kevin gradually couldn't stop smiling.

If it weren't for the fact that night was approaching, Kevin might have spent the entire day salvaging in the sea!

However, thinking that he still had things to do on land, Kevin couldn't really stay underwater like a deep-sea fish forever.

So, despite some regret and reluctance, Kevin left the treasure-filled waters before nightfall and returned to land to report the situation to Madelyn.

After asking his aquatic friends to help guard the jewels, Kevin went to report back to Madelyn.

After telling her that he had no news of Translucent, he immediately rushed back to the place where the jewels were hidden and dug out all the jewels and gold.

With the wealth in hand, Kevin breathed a slight sigh of relief.

Immediately, a problem presented itself to Kevin.

How was he going to sell these things…?

"Is this it?"

After work, Starlight Annie, with a disguised Kimiko, stood in front of a nail salon and asked Kimiko.

Kimiko, wearing a denim jacket Annie had bought for her and a baseball cap, looked through the nail salon window and saw the owner's face.

After confirming repeatedly, she nodded to Annie and gestured with her hands in front of Annie.

Having spent a day with Kimiko and barely able to recognize some simple sign language, Annie asked in surprise, "Uh, you want, yourself, alone… go in?"

Annie spoke while gesturing, as Kimiko still didn't understand too much English at the moment, and they could only communicate in this way.

Kimiko nodded again.

Annie turned to look at the salon owner, then looked back at Kimiko, whose eyes seemed to hold murderous intent, and shook her head, "No, you, stay here, wait for me."

Annie communicated with Kimiko using Kimiko's self-created sign language, telling her to wait there.

Because Annie was very worried that Kimiko would go in and immediately go on a killing spree, killing the nail salon owner.

And the reason Kimiko would do this was very simple.

The woman who was ostensibly the owner of the nail salon was secretly a human trafficker responsible for smuggling, and Kimiko had been brought to New York by her.

So Kimiko believed that she might know the whereabouts of Kimiko's brother, Kenji Miyashiro.

That's why Annie brought Kimiko here.

Annie had actually wanted to come here with The Deep to look for clues after his work was done.

But who knew that The Deep had been sent by Madelyn to do other work today? Annie waited until after work but didn't see The Deep, that punctual wage-thief, return, and Kimiko wanted to go by herself.

Annie had no choice but to go out with Kimiko first to find the human trafficker who had smuggled Kimiko over.

Seeing Annie say this, Kimiko craned her neck to look at the human trafficker inside, then met Starlight's gaze, and finally, after some hesitation, nodded and retreated, quietly following behind Annie.

"Good."

Seeing Kimiko obediently stay put, Annie breathed a sigh of relief, tidied her hair and hat, and walked into the nail salon.

There weren't many customers in the nail salon, almost none.

Normally, a nail salon with so few customers wouldn't last long, but then again, the owner's main business wasn't this.

The nail salon was just a disguise; it was likely that even frequent customers weren't really just customers.

Annie hadn't expected such a den of iniquity to be hidden beneath a glamorous shopping street, and she felt an urge to simply destroy the place.

But after thinking about it, Annie temporarily suppressed this impulse.

Things had to be prioritized; she had promised Kimiko to help her inquire about her brother, and that was the most important thing at the moment.

Annie entered the nail salon, while Kimiko remained outside, watching nervously.

Having traveled thousands of miles to this country, Kimiko had been persecuted from the very beginning, kidnapped and injected with drugs, and she actually felt quite insecure.

The reason she was willing to trust Annie and Kevin now was because they were among the few people who had shown her kindness since she arrived here.

However, this trust was actually very limited. If Annie failed to inquire about useful information or prevented her from finding her brother, Kimiko's trust would likely gradually disappear.

Kimiko watched the situation in the nail salon with trepidation and anticipation, but suddenly, everything stood still.

Pedestrians walking by, leaves falling from the sky, Annie's movements in the nail salon.

Including Kimiko's own movements, everything entered an extremely slow state.

Then a hand stopped Kimiko's waist, and in the next moment, picked her up and ran into the distance.

When time resumed flowing, Kimiko had already disappeared.

A minute later, Annie, who hadn't gotten any useful information from the human trafficker, walked out of the nail salon.

She was about to tell Kimiko the very regrettable news.

But when she arrived at the spot where Kimiko should have been standing, she found the place empty, with no one in sight.

"Kimiko?"

Annie instantly panicked.

She frantically searched for Kimiko's figure in the surroundings but couldn't find anything.

"Shit!"

At this moment, Annie knew.

She seemed to have caused trouble.

She stood rooted to the spot, pacing back and forth a few steps, quite at a loss, until after a while she thought of something and quickly took out her phone to call Kevin.

Thankfully, the call was answered quickly.

"Kevin? I lost Kimiko."

The moment the call connected, Annie stated truthfully.
