When they get home, Henry warms the food in the microwave while Riley insists on dragging himself up the stairs to get Skye.
He reaches Skye's room, where he's sprawled on the bed half-asleep, still clutching his tablet.
Coaxing him softly, Riley even tell him that he'll drop him off to school himself in the morning. That promise is all it takes; Skye blinks awake, rubbing his eyes before agreeing, letting Riley lead him downstairs.
The faint smell of reheated food greets them. When they reach the dining table, Henry and Andrew are already seated, the table set as if waiting for them.
Henry looks up immediately when Riley and Skye appear, the line of his mouth softening in that quiet, unspoken way that only Riley notices.
Henry too promises Skye that on the weekend, he'll take him out anywhere he wants to go. The words hang in the air for a moment, surprising all of them... especially Skye, whose stunned expression is almost comical.
