"Rias, everyone alright?"
Tenra found Rias and her group amid the fading chaos.
"We're fine—Gasper got hurt, but Asia's healing him now."
Rias wiped sweat from her brow, dispelling her Crimson Emperor armor. The last enemies had just been dealt with.
The Khaos Brigade's ambush had thrown everyone into battle. Rias's team was as formidable as ever, but what surprised Tenra was Gasper—this time, he'd actually stepped up. Using his Evil Eye, he'd supported the group, giving the enemy devils hell. Of course, that made him a target; he'd been wounded, but Asia's healing had him bouncing around again.
Tenra ruffled Gasper's hair. "Nice work."
The timid boy beamed, nodding hard.
"I'll keep trying, Tenra-sama!"
For the first time, Gasper felt he'd really helped. Pride swelled inside him.
Rias glanced toward the distant sky. "Onii-sama and Azazel are still busy. Let's go help."
Tenra nodded. "Let's."
Elsewhere—
"Ophis, if we beat you here, peace would finally come, right?"
Azazel's voice cut through the tension, eyes narrowed and dangerous as he stared down Ophis.
"Impossible. I do not lose."
Her face was blank, tone flat. Not arrogance—just fact.
Azazel shrugged. "Figured as much."
He hadn't expected a real answer. Whether it was him, Sirzechs, or even everyone here combined—none could stand against Ophis.
Infinite Dragon God—her very existence broke the rules.
Sirzechs spoke next, voice low. "Ophis, what do you want? Why lead the Khaos Brigade?"
Ophis gazed up at the sky. For a fleeting moment, emotion flickered across her delicate face—longing, maybe loneliness.
"A silent world. I wish to return to my homeland—the Dimensional Gap. To enjoy its quiet. That is all."
For Ophis, the Dimensional Gap was home. This world was a cage. She'd pay any price to break free.
Sirzechs and Azazel exchanged glances. They understood.
The Dimensional Gap was ruled by Great Red now. If Ophis wanted back, she'd have to fight him.
If those two gods ever clashed, the world itself might not survive.
It was too soon to panic—but they knew they'd have to stop it, somehow. Before either could speak, Tenra and Rias's group flew in.
"Big brother."
"Rias, Tenra-kun."
They landed beside Sirzechs and Azazel—then spotted Ophis. Rias blinked, stunned.
"A… child?"
Ophis looked seven, maybe eight. Dressed in a cute frock, she seemed utterly harmless.
But was it her imagination, or did her powerful brother and Azazel seem… wary of this little girl?
"Rias, that's not a child. That's Ophis—the leader of the Khaos Brigade."
Tenra eyed Ophis too, noting her innocent, almost angelic look.
"O-Ophis? The Infinite Dragon God?!"
Rias's shock was mirrored by Akeno, Xenovia, and the others.
A being of infinite power, top of the food chain—shouldn't she look more regal? Instead, she was just… adorable. The kind of kid you'd want to hug.
Of course, no one dared.
No one wanted to tempt fate.
As the girls tensed, Tenra soared forward.
"Tenra!"
"Don't go, Tenra-kun!"
Panic rippled through the group. Sirzechs called out a warning.
"Hey, kid—don't get reckless. Even you could die."
Azazel's eyes glinted with interest, but he still cautioned Tenra.
Tenra waved them off. "Relax. I've got this."
He drifted to a stop before Ophis.
"Ddraig. Albion. You carry their scent."
Ophis's eyes flicked to Tenra.
"I'm Tenra Kamiyo—the Red Dragon Emperor and White Dragon Emperor. Ddraig and Albion's host."
He grinned, then—with a flourish—produced a comically oversized lollipop.
"For you. Try it."
The entire group nearly fell out of the sky.
Was Tenra seriously offering the Infinite Dragon God… a lollipop?
She'll get mad, right?
She has to get mad.
Everyone braced for the apocalypse.
Instead, Ophis accepted the candy and licked it.
"Delicious."
Her jewel-like eyes sparkled. She tilted her head, honest and childlike.
"If you like it, have more. From now on, we're friends."
Tenra's smile was dazzling—and just a bit sinister, like a mischievous uncle with a plan.
Except he wasn't luring a kid—he was luring Ophis.
"Friends?"
Ophis seemed puzzled by the word, but didn't dwell on it.
She conjured a black snake in her palm and offered it to Tenra.
"A gift for me?"
Tenra's lips twitched with amusement. Ophis nodded.
"For you. This is all I have."
Just a fragment of her power, but Tenra knew—the magic in that snake could boost a Low-Class Devil straight to Maou level.
Of course, if a weak devil tried to absorb Ophis's power, they'd explode before they got the chance.
"I don't need your power, Ophis. Didn't I say? We're friends now."
Tenra shook his head, chuckling softly.
He wasn't rejecting her out of pride—he simply had bigger plans.
Ophis looked briefly confused, then closed her hand and reabsorbed the snake.
"I'm going back…"
Without another word, she vanished.
No drama, no fanfare—just gone.
Tenra shrugged. He hadn't gotten what he wanted, but he wasn't disappointed.
This was just the first step. Get Ophis familiar with him—next time, he'd push further.
He turned back—
And found everyone staring at him like he'd grown a second head.
