"DXD: Infinite Loot System"Chapter 321: This Is an Opportunity
Tension crackled in the Kamiyo household's main hall. Every girl—Akeno, Yubelluna, and the rest—wore wary expressions, their eyes fixed on the newcomer. Even the usually fearless Ile and Nel huddled together, curiosity and anxiety battling across their faces.
All eyes were drawn to the figure at the center of it all: Ophis, the Infinite Dragon God, infamous leader of the Khaos Brigade.
Yet, at this moment, she was perched serenely on Tenra's lap, utterly absorbed in licking a lollipop.
"H-hello, Red Dragon Emperor-sama. I'm Le Fay Pendragon."
Le Fay stepped forward, nerves fluttering, but her excitement at meeting her idol shone through.
"Hello, Miss Le Fay. You're Arthur Pendragon's sister?"
Tenra offered a gentle smile, sizing her up.
Young as she was, Le Fay radiated impressive magical power—almost rivaling Yubelluna.
A prodigy, no doubt.
"Yes, Arthur is my brother."
"Um, Red Dragon Emperor-sama, I really admire you. Could I have your autograph?"
She bowed, cheeks aflame, and held out a notebook with trembling hands.
Tenra blinked, surprised—then chuckled. So she was a fan.
He accepted the notebook and scribbled his name.
"Will this do, Miss Le Fay?"
He handed it back.
"It's perfect, Red Dragon Emperor-sama!"
"I'll treasure it forever!"
Le Fay clutched the signed notebook as if it were a priceless artifact.
"No need to be so dramatic. It's just a name. If you ever want more, I'll sign as many as you like."
"Really, Red Dragon Emperor-sama?"
"Of course. Having such a cute and talented fan makes me happy too."
"Um, you can just call me Le Fay…"
"Sure. Then you should call me Tenra, not 'Red Dragon Emperor-sama' all the time."
"I—I couldn't! I'll stick with Tenra-sama."
"Suit yourself. Whatever makes you comfortable."
As Tenra chatted with his starstruck fan, across the room Azazel found himself pinned by Rias's glare.
"Azazel, why did you bring Ophis here? This is nothing like what we agreed!"
Rias's voice shook with indignation.
"C-calm down, Rias. Didn't I warn you not to be too shocked?"
Azazel tried to placate her, voice steady but sweat beading on his brow.
"Relax. This isn't a battlefield. She won't attack. If she wanted to, all of us together wouldn't stand a chance."
"Don't try to dodge the issue! This is insane!"
"That's Ophis—the head of the terrorist organization attacking every major faction! Why would such an enemy appear in the most important city for the alliance? Why would she be in our home?!"
"Even my brother and Lord Michael haven't sent any word. The town's security hasn't reacted at all."
"Azazel, you hid this from everyone, didn't you? Secretly contacting the Khaos Brigade and bringing Ophis here—do you realize that's high treason against the alliance?!"
Rias's anger was justified—her words were heavy, and if anyone else were in Azazel's place, tempers might have flared dangerously.
"Rias, please, calm down. I'd never betray the alliance we worked so hard to build. I thought this through before acting."
"Look over there—Ophis is completely calm. She won't harm anyone right now."
Azazel nodded toward Tenra and Ophis.
Rias glanced over. Sure enough, Ophis sat quietly, focused on her lollipop, while Tenra gently patted her head and joked with Le Fay.
Rias's mouth twisted—her earlier panic suddenly felt foolish.
"Tenra!"
She hissed his name, cheeks burning with a mix of embarrassment and annoyance.
"Ahem, Rias, Azazel's right. Take a breath."
"True, Ophis leads the Khaos Brigade and has the power to destroy us, but she herself isn't a threat at the moment. There's no need to be so tense."
Tenra's words were calm, and with a glance to Akeno, she moved quickly to comfort Rias.
Rias drew several deep breaths, her composure slowly returning.
It wasn't hard to see why she'd been so rattled. As Tenra's official fiancée—the de facto head of the household's harem—Rias carried immense pressure. The sudden arrival of a foe they couldn't possibly resist had thrown her off balance.
"I'm sorry, Azazel. I went too far. Please don't take it to heart."
Rias bowed her head in apology, her sincerity clear.
Azazel wiped his brow, managing a wry smile. "As long as you've calmed down, it's fine."
He'd taken a verbal beating, but he wasn't about to hold a grudge.
Rias's cheeks reddened, and she apologized again.
The tension in the room eased. With Rias calm, the other girls relaxed as well.
"Azazel, it's time for answers. What's really going on?"
"Even with all your skill, you couldn't possibly get Ophis out of the Khaos Brigade, right?"
Azazel's eyes sharpened. "You caught that. No, even I couldn't do it. Vali reached out to me—he brought Ophis and the others here."
Tenra and the girls exchanged surprised glances.
"Vali… What's he after?"
Tenra frowned.
"According to Vali, he doesn't like how the Khaos Brigade uses Ophis for their own ends. So he took her out. Of course, that kid's pretty tsundere—he probably has other reasons too."
Azazel stroked his chin, amusement flickering in his eyes.
Tenra couldn't help but smile—knowing Vali, that sounded about right.
"Then why bring Ophis here?"
Tenra pressed, echoing the question on everyone's mind.
Azazel's expression turned solemn, his gaze sweeping the room.
"Because I believe this is an opportunity!"
