"Wait, wait,wait..." her brain suddenly remembered a piece of information from Livia's memories. Not exactly recent memory but a memory from her childhood when she used to live with her parents.
"There's a study room and Library in Livia's family mansion. If the Maren family was researching curse magic, then there's bound to a hidden chamber or basement to study those curse magic. Because they can't just create and research it openly.
Why didn't I think of this before??" She suddenly found her heart racing with excitement and hope.
"Coachman" -Livia called out with a shout.
"Ye-Yes miss!" The coachman replied, startled by Livia's sudden shout.
"Turn the carriage around. We are going home…The Maren mansion"
The coachman blinked in confusion, clearly caught off guard. "Ri-Right away, Miss"
"…."
"But before let's pick Anna & Marisha from the townhouse."
-----
"M-Miss Livia!? Why have you suddenly come…Without any notice…"
It was early in the morning when the carriage arrived in the Baron Maren Mansion. It took a full day and two nights to the estate. After briefly surveying the mansion, Livia entered the mansion. There the servants couldn't help but be surprised and a little bit frightened at Livia's sudden visit. Because after Livia had run away, the only time she had visited the main residence was for the Maren family's regular dinner parties. And that little visit was anything but pleasant for the servants.
"What's your name?
Livia asked, pointing at the maid who was standing at the corner of the main entrance. The maid replied with a start.
"Y-yes! I-I'm Lily Greenhoff"
Lily was a newcomer who had only been working in the Maren mansion for four months.
As soon as Livia asked her name, all the servants turned their head turned towards Lily. Their eyes filled with pity.
'Ah…She's done for.'- someone muttered in a low voice. But Lily heard it very clearly. She suddenly felt crying, knowing what those words meant.
Because she had been warned beforehand about the Maren Family's young mistress, how terrifying she was.
That she would curse people to death, her personal maids never lasted more than one month. And whenever she visited the main residence, she would dismiss at-least one servant. Sometimes she would hit them if she was angry.
While she didn't know about the first and last one was true or not but she knew that the middle one was definitely true.
'Am I getting fired?'
Images of her family flashed through Lily's mind. 'I'm sorry, Mom, Dad. Sorry, my little brother. I thought I was lucky to get this job, but it had to be at the Maren residence.'
"Where's my parents?"
But the word "Fired" she had been waiting for never came. Instead, what came was an unexpected question.
"That They-They went to the eastern territory of Duke Feliste"
"IS that so?"
"Yes!"-Lily quickly nodded.
"When will they be back?"
"They said they would be back by tonight or tomorrow morning"
"Hmm…I'm going to the underground Library. When they come back please let them know"
"Yes! I understand miss."
Lily nodded stiffly.
"Alright, thank you"
"Yes, Miss. …Is that all I need to do?"
"Yes, why?"
"Oh, no, nothing. I apologize for the impertinent question."
"No, it's fine. You all can go back to work now."
"Yes! Miss."
The servants, who had been standing in a line to greet Livia, answered in unison. Their resounding response made it hard to tell whether this was the entrance hall of a noble residence or some army barracks.
Livia smiled wryly and disappeared in the underground Library with Anna and Marisha.
Soon the servants started to get back to their own work.
After standing in the same place for a while she asked the other maids suddenly
"Lucy, I wasn't fired right?"
"What are you talking about, let's get back to work before we really get fired."
