The vessel continues driving, and the field Kaito once found himself in is long gone.
A young man taps Yukki on the arm. "How'd you end up here?" He asks Yukki.
Yukki laughs. "I got picked out of my class for this, the empire thoughted be a good fit." Yukki says but then he looks gloomy. "Wish the missions failure didn't effect my grade though, if we fail i flunk!" Yukki panics. The young man laughs. "Well you're in luck, this will be an easy ride." The man says and then punches Yukki's arm playfully. "If you ask me, seems like they just handed you a free passing grade!" He assures him.
Yukki smiles back before another man laughs. "Then maybe you should be in the noblelady's quarters." He teases. Yukki nearly jumps out of his seat. "Are you crazy?!" He shouts at him and everyone laughs at him. "i'm sure she'd feel much safer with you, her "Guard" by her side." A women soldier says.
He seems nervous. "Just be close by that way when we get back she can tell the soldiers you did good. I'm sure the big wigs will love that!" The young man tells him. Yukki gets determined then nods. "Right!" He says as he stands up. "I'm gonna befriend her!" He shouts as he storms back.
After he walks away the soldiers cheer him on.
Yukki sweats nervously. "Ms, Nyla?" He calmly enters the room as he sees her messing with her hair.
She notices him and adjust herself to sit straight up, adjusting her posture. "Yes?" She asks. "Are you doing alright?" Yukki asks. She gives him an elegant smile. "Of course, it's very sweet of you all to guide me back home." She elegantly says. Yukki is stunned, "Even the way she speaks screams rich!" Yukki says. She tilts her head. "Is something the matter?" Nyla questions, her golden hair shimmering.
Yukki shakes his head. "No, miss, it's just gonna be a long ride, thought you could use some company." He says.
She looks at him for a moment before giving another elegant smile. "How kind of you!" She points to the seat across from her. "Please, sit, I was getting bored back here." She says. Yukki quickly goes to sit. As he sits he sees that heavy box he carried in. "Not being rude, but what's in there?" Yukki asks. Nyla looks over at the box. "Just clothing." She says.
Yukki looks at it nervously. "Clothes weigh that much?!" He thinks.
Nyla passes him a drink. "If i may ask Yukki, what school do you attend?" She asks him. Yukki holds the cup in his hand. "I'm not sure if you've heard of it, i only recently got in, school year just started, i've only just moved into the dorms this is actually my fir-" Yukki looks at Nyla and he realizes he's rambling. "I go to elysian." He states.
Nyla giggles. "That's the academy of the arcane, correct?" Nyla asks. Yukki laughs and nods. "Yeah, school of the greats as they say." Yukki says. Nyla takes a sip of her drink. "How'd you get into that school? Isn't it ranked six in all the empire?" She asks.
Yukki smiles and looks down at his cup. "It wasn't easy, had to really study like crazy, it's funny my brother and I got in also because of..." Yukki trails off. Nyla is confused by his sudden silence. "Something wrong?" She asks.
Yukki shakes his head. "Nothing, just uhm, a bad memory actually." He blows it off. "What about you miss?" He asks. Nyla sighs. "You are aware you don't have to be so formal with me, we're the same age." She says to him. He laughs. "Sorry, but it's respectful for someone in your position, Miss Nyla." He says and he can see that she's upset by it.
Nyla takes another sip. "I'm busy all the time," She says as she sits her cup down. "i'm currently returning from business for my father, and after that it's back to my studies." Nyla explains. "Must get boring." Yukki says absently before realizes what he said. "i-i'm sorry, i didn't mean to offend!" He apologizes. Nyla burst out laughing. "Don't be." She says before she looks at him smiling. "It does get very boring!" She says and they laugh together.
Nyla and Yukki's conversation continued for hours and before they knew it, nighttime had rolled in. "Looks like it's getting pretty late." Yukki mentions. "I should rest, father said it's important to get all eight hours!" Nyla says. Yukki nods. "I'm gonna go check how things are up front." Yukki says. Nyla nods to him and Yukki leaves the room.
He returns up front to see most of the soldiers also sleeping. "How long until we reach Mozam?" Yukki asks. The older man still awake and behind the wheel looks at him. "About a day, as long as we keep pace." He says, his fatigue heard in his voice. '
Yukki sits down and rests his eyes.
He wakes up to the sun slightly in the air. "I fell asleep?" He asks. Yukki begins stretching.
As he's stretching he's alarmed by someone yelling. "I see a flag!" He yells. They all look out the window and see three vessels riding for them. "Not good, we got adventurers, non friendly!" A woman yells out.
The roof opens up. "Get your arcane rifles and protect the crystia bulb, if it blows we're dead!" The older man yells. "Sir!" The soldiers quickly grab the rifles and climb up to the roof. Yukki goes to grab one. "Not you, you're not trained, and you need to be protecting Miss Nyla!" He yells as the vessel shakes from a blast. "Sir!" Yukki salutes and runs over to Nyla's room.
She's covering her head ducking under a table. "What is going on?!" Nyla asks frightened. Yukki runs over to her. "We're being attacked!" He yells. A hook is shot through the window sending glass flying everywhere. it latches onto the vessel and begins dragging it towards the adventurers.
Yukki looks out of the window and sees what looks like their boss standing on the roof. "Give up all your valuables, and everyone lives, fight back and it only gets worse!" He shouts at them.
"They must've been following us and waited until we got to the mountains!" Yukki says. The adventurers begin climbing across the hooks blocking the rifle shots. "Dammit there's too many of them!" A soldier shouts from the roof. The adventurers jump into the window and kick Yukki into a wall.
One slashes a sword at him, and Yukki quickly dodges. Yukki unsheathes his sword and stabs the adventurer thug in the arm. He drops his sword and Yukki slams his head into the wall and kicks him off the vessel. Another one much larger then the other slams Yukki into the ground.
Kaito is woken up inside of his box by all the trouble. "Five more minuets!" He groans. Nyla looks confused like she heard talking.
The man tries to stab Yukki and he moves his head. Nyla slams a vase on the man's head. He didn't even feel it, but he still turned to her. Yukki grabs the man and headbuts him and then flips him out of a window. A man with a Mace jumps on board.
Yukki goes for him. He swings the heavy mace and slams it into the ground. Shaking the entire vessel. Yukki struggles to hold himself up and the man shoulder charges him into the wall. Yukki punches him, the man just laughs it off and then drags Yukki across a table and then throws him into a wall.
The man laughs. "Boss told you it'd get worse." He mocks Yukki. The man raises the mace to hit Nyla. She covers her head, But all their attention turns to the box. Kaito comes from the box yawning. "What good sleep!" He happily says. Kaito looks around and notices he's in a devastated room. "Where am i?" He asks.
The large man charges after Kaito. Kaito reacts quickly and dodges him. The man swings his mace at Kaito's head. He dodges under it, and then kicks the man in the stomach.
The man winces and then tries to charge Kaito. Kaito smiles and then hip-tosses the man onto the ground. Kaito allows the man to get back up.
Nyla is watching the fight nervously.
The man shakes the mace and the head comes off attached to a chain. Kaito stretches his shoulders. The man swings the mace again and Kaito jumps back. He dodges attack after attack and the man gets angry. He swings down at Kaito again. Kaito jumps towards him this time and lands a knee to the mans chin dropping him.
Yukki looks at Kaito as he holds his side. "Who is this?!" He says amazed by Kaito's fighting talent.
Kaito reaches into the box and grabs his bag. He then notices Yukki and Nyla. "Hey, there any idea what's happening?" Kaito asks. The vessel shakes again as it's hit by another attack.
The back of it is blown open and Nyla falls out. Yukki panics. "Ms Nyla!" He shouts. Before he even notices Kaito jumps out after her. Yukki looks at the trouble behind him. "The soldiers will be ok, they're trained for this." He says. He then looks at the opening in the vessel. "More importantly, i cannot leave Miss, Nyla with this stranger!" Yukki braces himself and then jumps out after them.
He regrets it quickly as he sees that he's now falling downhill.
