The overseer of the team of students whose name was Gideon Fleece was allowing Radway to lead him and the students into the dungeon.
Gideon Fleece was a lizardman with black and green scales though the majority were green.He possessed a muscular figure and scythe like claws on his hands and feet.He possessed a long tail that was corded with muscle.He was 7 feet tall so he was one foot shorter then Radway.
The size difference wouldn't mean much since Gideon Fleece had the physical capacity to utterly demolish Radway due to his bloodline cultivation as well as his techniques and spells.In all honesty Gideon Fleece felt as though the dungeon task would be easy.
He had checked the drops of the mobs including the one that could apparently speak.Even though those drops had far higher quality then the rest they wouldn't be to costly on the overall market unless they underwent sufficient testing and got an upgrade in quality.
It simply wasn't of use to anyone relatively past the mediocre stage.He of course meant the F rank.The rank full of talented beginners and trash nobodys.The ranking system went like F,E,D,C,B,A,S from weakest to strongest.People of B rank rarely fought and they could destroy cities.People of A were rare and acted as the deterrents of war between nations.People of S did exist but they were rarer then A and only dealt with world and civilisation ending threats which did occur from time to time.For context the threat of the Vampire King in Novalok was considered A rank which was a big deal.
"Are we close sir Radway?"
"It's just up ahead yep you can see it right now.Though the mana does seem thicker then before...huh...weird."
Radway was slightly surprised but he knew that dungeons could be unpredictable especially the newer ones that were still rapidly growing.It could be chalked up to one of the dungeons unique features though since no two dungeons were the same.
"Oh how much thicker do you think the ambient mana is now compared to before."
"Hmmm I'd say it's about three times as rich compared to before."
Radway made an estimate based on his observations.
"Sir Radway has anyone else ventured into the dungeon?Has anyone died in there?"
"Not that I know of the dungeon hasn't been made public yet and it currently belongs to your organisation.Only one kobold miner has died in there.Have you sent anyone into it?"
"Not at all the only few reasons I can think of then is that there are now stronger mobs which is unlikely.There is also the possibility that there are more treasures inside of there which is also unlikely.The most likely option is that the dungeon has pooled its resources and created a powerful boss monster."
Gideon came up with a theory which got the majority of the students excited.They all wanted to test themselves against a good opponent...well most of them.
If the dungeon only had a boss and a few easy mobs then this would be easy sailing.
As they reached the entrance of the dungeon Gideon stepped in front of everyone.
"I'll be heading in first.Stay outside for now and wait for me to go back outside.I promise I won't be long."
With that Gideon headed into the entrance.The first second he experienced when he appeared in the dungeon was the view of a large cavern with a forest in it.The cavern was brightly lit despite the absence of sunlight.
The second second was him experiencing the short fall.Then a dozen sharp points against his body's scales.He had fallen into a spiked pit trap.
"Tch...intelligent mobs."
Gideons next action was getting out of the pit and burying it in soil.The trap was primitive but it could probably kill or severely injure some of his students.When he was done he proceeded to get back out of the dungeon and letting them all know what happened.
Radway was a bit surprised but this sort of thing had happened before.The occasion when the smart mobs in a dungeon would put a trap at the entrance.This could be sorted by disarming the trap and then keeping two powerful guards inside the entrance.
"It's currently safe to head in so let's go."
Gideon made his declaration and the team of students along with Radway entered the dungeon.
