Chapter 12 - Interrogation

Gideon Fleece overseeing the team of students and the escort Radway had entered the dungeon. The students were somewhat surprised by the surrounding interior of the dungeon but most of them had either entered dungeons before or been educated about them.

"Sir Radway care to lead us to the mobs."

"Uhhhmmm yeah sure."

Radway personally would have rather had the more powerful overseer Gideon take the lead but he supposed that it was alright. There was only one mob in this dungeon that could contend with him and he killed it easily. He just hoped he wouldn't meet the boss mob.

Radway approached the tree line with the overseer and his students following a certain distance behind. He was about to step foot into charted territory when he felt a murderous intent. In reflex he grabbed with his left hand and moved his head back a bit.

His scaly hand grabbed on to something with a physical form and mass but he couldn't see anything. It was only when he tightened his grip and heard some creaking along with a yelp that he saw the figure of one the strange creatures became visible to the group.

The strange creature was holding a stone tipped spear which would have penetrated through Radways eye had he not moved his head back.Radway for his part was holding onto the creatures wrist which had its internal bones slightly crushed.

"You didn't report that these creatures could turn invisible." Gideon was startled as he turned to Radway hoping he could give some context.

"I honestly had no idea they could do that." Radway was startled.

Did the creatures already possess the ability to do that when he killed them or did they gain the ability afterwards.Gideon looked into Radways eyes for any trace of deception or lies but he witnessed none. Not to mention this creature was somewhat stronger then the norm.

Radway was about to impale the creature on his long claws but Gideon stopped him.

"Wait I would like to ask him some questions Sir Radway." Gideon stepped forward and watched as the creature turned its gaze toward him.

"Can you understand me monster?" Gideon asked thoughtfully to which the creature remained silent.

"I see then do you understand me now." Gideon held out his scythe like claw on his right index finger which secreted a verdant green liquid that sizzled as it dripped on the ground. He then shoved the claw into the creatures almost broken wrist. The effect was immediate as the green liquid entered the creatures blood stream.

"Aaarrrggghh...it hurts...it hurts so...much." The creatures words stunned the students who didn't expect it to speak the common language.

"Oohhh so you can speak...and here I thought you were mute.So tell me what is the name of your species and why can you turn invisible."

"I...I'm a human and...well...I can't...tell you." The human appeared hesitant as though he would be punished for speaking up.

"Ohh now don't be like that I'm glad you answered my first question but you should be aware that I can make my persuasion quite effective. For example the venom that I injected into your blood stream has the ability to increase the sensitivity of your pain receptors and makes your body feel like it's on fire." A cruel gleam entered Gideons eye which made some of the students gulp audibly.

"I...I...still can't...tell you." The human then appeared to concentrate on something. It was like he was hearing something the rest of them could not. "I guess I...can give...some information.Gaia...she said I could tell you.I learnt...the rare invisibility skill...after levelling up to level 1."

This new information caught the entire group off guard.Skills?level 1?What in the world was he talking about?

Gideon looked into the humans eyes for any trace of deceit.Gaia was probably the name of the dungeon or another human. It was rare and not impossible for a dungeon to be smart in the early stages and be able to interact with its mobs.

"Well human I find it quite hard to believe that you simply out of nowhere learned how to turn invisible.Tell me have you ever learned of cultivation." Gideon asked this question hoping that the human would reveal that he was lying but his confused expression said it all. This creature had never even heard of cultivation.

"I guess that answers my suspicions."
