Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Applying to go to the BattlefieldKonoha Village.

The next day, the rain had stopped, and Konoha was filled with the vibrant energy of prosperity under the sun.

A rainbow appeared over Konoha, bringing innocent and joyful smiles to more villagers and children.

Even the ninjas passing by couldn't help but smile when they saw the rainbow in the bright sunlight.

"Big Sister Mikoto, congratulations. You're about to become a Special Jonin."

After returning to the village and listening to Uchiha Mikoto, Uchiha Yoru smiled and offered his congratulations.

However, Uchiha Mikoto's eyes held a hint of sadness and solemnity.

"Grandfather's health isn't great. Even though my Sharingan is only a two-tomoe, I need to take on the clan's responsibilities."

Just one short sentence revealed a lot of information.

It meant that Elder Setsuna, that old man, was on his last legs.

As the elder's only blood-related granddaughter, Uchiha Mikoto would inherit his legacy.

"Elder Setsuna...?"

Thinking this, Uchiha Yoru felt pleased inside, but his face still showed a look of concern.

Uchiha Mikoto saw his expression and let out a self-deprecating laugh.

"It's fine. It's probably for the best if the old man goes soon. It would make things easier for the clan."

The two of them walked toward the Uchiha compound together, while Uchiha Yoru's mind processed the information he had just received.

While Uchiha Mikoto might be a bit young for the rank, with her two-tomoe Sharingan and her age, Elder Setsuna's hawkish faction still needed an heir.

It seemed that... this powerful support...

Suddenly, Uchiha Mikoto turned around and looked intently at him, her slender hands cupping his face as she stared deeply into his dark eyes.

"Yoru!"

At that moment, Uchiha Mikoto's expression was one of complex solemnity.

"We don't have much time left. Your promotion to chunin will be coming soon, but you must work to awaken your Sharingan as early as possible. We'll need you in the future!"

Upon hearing this, Uchiha Yoru's expression became resolute as he nodded.

"Big Sister Mikoto, don't worry. I'll definitely help you."

"I can't let her down," Uchiha Yoru thought to himself.

Elder Setsuna's health was failing, and the only person who could inherit his power was Mikoto. She was currently without much support, so she needed his help.

This was also why, after awakening her Sharingan and being mentally stimulated, Mikoto was so eager for him to awaken his eyes.

The moment the two returned to the compound, they heard a shocking piece of news.

"Something happened to Nawaki, the First Hokage's grandson!"

Upon hearing this news, both Uchiha Mikoto and Uchiha Yoru's faces showed shock.

Uchiha Mikoto was shocked because this was the sole remaining direct bloodline of the First Hokage.

Uchiha Yoru was shocked because Tsunade was already aware of the plot, and yet something still happened?

...

In front of the Memorial Stone.

Tsunade, wearing a blue trench coat, stood silently before a newly erected stone tablet.

She clutched the necklace in her palm, her face filled with sadness, and two lines of tears streamed down her cheeks.

Her silence was laced with killing intent!

"Nawaki!"

The sound of shuffling footsteps approached. It was Uchiha Yoru, who had just returned from a mission. He was too tired to go home and change his clothes, so he had rushed straight here.

Holding a bouquet of white chrysanthemums, Uchiha Yoru walked to Nawaki's gravestone and said in a low voice:

"I just got back this morning and heard the news. Captain Tsunade, didn't you already...!"

Bang!

Before Uchiha Yoru could finish his words, Tsunade swung her arm, and his body was sent flying with a thud, landing a dozen meters away.

The white chrysanthemums scattered across the sky.

Tsunade's face was filled with killing intent as she stared at the person who had arrived.

"Cough, cough!"

Uchiha Yoru slowly got up, wiped the blood from his mouth, and silently picked up the scattered white chrysanthemums.

"Captain Tsunade, someone must be trying to drive a wedge between you and the village!"

Uchiha Yoru's face was full of disbelief as he stared at the heartbroken Tsunade.

The Senju clan couldn't even prevent Nawaki's death?

He had already given her the intel, and yet he still died! He didn't know if the death was real or fake, but one thing was certain: he had to believe it was real.

Things had gone far beyond his expectations, but he had already come this far. Uchiha Yoru had no choice but to push forward.

"Shut up! You evil little Uchiha!"

As she looked at Uchiha Yoru, Tsunade had already deduced that this kid was just a pawn. However, she still had to act to confuse the enemy hiding in the shadows.

"Kid, this is the intel you personally brought me, from that old ghost Setsuna of your clan!"

Tsunade glared at him, speaking each word slowly. Her eyes were filled with tears of rage.

When Uchiha Yoru heard this, his expression instantly changed, and then a look of resolution flashed in his eyes.

"Captain Tsunade!"

Uchiha Yoru's eyes were filled with a look of determination, which made Tsunade's heart sink. She was worried that she had gone too far with the act and that the kid would do something reckless.

However, the next moment!

"Captain Tsunade, as a genin, Uchiha Yoru will personally take action to eliminate the village's traitors!"

"Shut up!"

Tsunade's sharp gaze swept over him, and she let out a cold shout to stop the nonsense of this kid whose brain was fried by the will of fire.

Assassinate Elder Setsuna? This kid really had the guts to say that!

Tsunade's secret about Nawaki was only known to her and Grandma Mito. But this kid was now giving Tsunade a headache, yet she had to continue to act aloof and heartbroken.

"Kid! Remember the ninja secrecy rules!"

Tsunade's cold, warning voice echoed, essentially telling him to keep his mouth shut. Uchiha Yoru gradually lowered his head and fell silent for a moment.

A light breeze blew by as Tsunade turned her back to him, looking at her brother's gravestone.

Uchiha Yoru walked forward silently, slowly placed the white chrysanthemums in front of the stone, and bowed his head without a word.

Seeing this, Tsunade sighed inwardly, feeling that she had been a bit unfair to the kid. But Nawaki's secret was too important for her to reveal easily.

However, this kid knew about the intel. Thinking of this, Tsunade said in a hoarse voice:

"This intel was the work of enemy spy ninjas!"

Tsunade was directly telling Uchiha Yoru that this was the official story and that his intel had already been officially categorized.

However, Uchiha Yoru lowered his head even more. His mind was racing, and a look of sorrow appeared on his face.

"Is it because of the war?"

Uchiha Yoru's somber expression seemed to imply that the intel couldn't be revealed because of the war, as it would cause an uproar in Konoha.

Tsunade remained silent, seeming to agree.

In front of Nawaki's grave, two people stood, but neither was truly mourning for him.

After a long time, Uchiha Yoru, with his back to Tsunade, clenched his fists as if he had made up his mind.

To Tsunade's shock, the kid turned around and stared intently at her, his eyes filled with resolve.

"Captain Tsunade, Uchiha Yoru requests to go to the Land of Rain battlefield!"

At that moment!

Uchiha Yoru was determined to go to the battlefield, to make this intel disappear forever, and to make himself more valuable.

"What the hell! This stubborn, single-minded Uchiha kid!"

Tsunade's heart was filled with frustration, but she had to admit, this was so Uchiha.

However, the next moment, Uchiha Yoru's brow suddenly furrowed, and a pained look appeared on his face as his body began to tremble.

"Kid!"

In an instant, the elite jonin Tsunade immediately sensed that something was wrong with the kid.

"Not good!"
