Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Taunting the Fire Man to the Point of Collapse

Five or six young men and women, laughing and chatting, burst through the door, and the moment they saw Ethan Young, their expressions froze.

Then, with great interest, they observed Ethan, whispering to each other.

"Bobby, why is there an extra person in your dorm, and an Asian one at that?"

"Wow, he's quite handsome, and his eyes are so intense."

"Hi! Are you Bobby's new roommate? His last roommate ran away in the winter because of him, do you know why?"

Ethan had a headache from all the chattering in the room, but he roughly recognized these young people.

The boy called Bobby was Iceman, who possessed Omega-level potential, with the ability to create ice out of thin air.

Fortunately, it was summer now, and having Iceman around would definitely be cool.

There was also Kitty Pryde, who was indeed very cute in reality, and Pyro John, who was fiddling with a lighter.

The remaining few made no impression, so they probably didn't appear often.

At this moment, Iceman Bobby walked out and introduced him to the other mutants.

"This is my new roommate, a mutant the Professor just rescued today."

He looked at Ethan and asked.

"Hey! I don't know your name yet."

"Ethan Young."

Ethan got off the bed and stated his name openly.

Actually, before he recovered his memories, since he was an orphan, he didn't have a name.

People on the street called him by nicknames, and in the research institute, he only had one nickname, T-34.

"My name is Bobby, my ability is ice manipulation. I can make a cold drink without a refrigerator."

"My name is Kitty, my ability is phasing. What's your ability?"

Ethan thought for a moment; the replication ability was his best disguise.

When using the same abilities as other mutants, he wouldn't need to explain too much.

Moreover, if he revealed his replication ability, these curious kids might want to see it in action.

Then he could take the opportunity to absorb, a simple psychological induction.

"Replication. As long as I touch you, I can replicate your abilities."

"Wow, then we can phase together! I've already thought about how to tease the teachers."

Kitty Pryde looked expectant and immediately took a few steps closer to him.

Meanwhile, Pyro John's eyes were sharp, seemingly scrutinizing him.

"Replication? With that ability, how did you get caught? If it were me, I would never let them touch me."

"You were caught right after your abilities awakened, and there were no other mutants around. You weren't born with a lighter, were you?"

Seeing that John was showing off, Ethan retorted sharply.

After all, Pyro's ability required a lighter to be used.

Asking Pyro if he was born with a lighter was definitely a top-tier taunt.

Sure enough, John flicked his lighter, his gesture indicating he was about to unleash his power and set fire.

Bobby and Kitty quickly intervened.

"Hey, John, you provoked Ethan first! Put that fire away."

"Right, if you actually do something, you'll violate the academy's rules!"

"Never mind the rules, I'm just having a chat with him!"

John twisted his neck, staring at Ethan with disdain.

The lighter in his hand clicked repeatedly, spitting out flames again and again.

"My name is John, my ability is controlling flames. Do you want to replicate my ability?"

Of course, Ethan wouldn't refuse. Although Pyro's ability was quite dependent.

But it was also an advanced ability to control plasma, and with the upgrade of the Super Furnace, it could evolve to Omega level.

Who knew, just as he was about to ask John for a strand of hair, John pressed the igniter.

A fiery eagle formed of flames swooped towards him.

He quickly reached into the flames and used the Super Furnace, and the flames were instantly siphoned into his hand.

**[Flame smelting successful, new ability generated - Fire Body]**

Fire Body, in fact, was the ability of body cells to release energy and produce flames, which was vastly different from Pyro John's ability.

This ability was similar to Iceman's ice creation; Iceman creating ice out of thin air was entropy reduction, while his Fire Body was entropy increase.

In the future, as long as he kept smelting and upgrading, he could also reach the Omega level.

John did provide a good ability, but daring to suddenly attack him, he had to properly deal with him.

...

From John releasing the flames to Ethan smelting out the Fire Body, it was only a second.

Everything happened very fast; Iceman had just widened his eyes, his hand reaching out towards Pyro, ready to stop him.

And Kitty let out a scream, but things didn't turn out as bad as she thought.

Ethan melted the fire eagle, tidied his hair that had been blown by the heat, and calmly asked Pyro.

"These flames smell like gasoline. Do you have any other tricks?"

"Isn't your ability only able to replicate by touch? How can you absorb my flames?"

Pyro asked in shock. He had just wanted to scare this newcomer with flames.

And he thought Ethan needed to touch a mutant's body to replicate abilities, so he would surely scream in fright upon seeing his flames.

But not only was Ethan not scared, he calmly absorbed all the flames.

This calm way of handling things, and his mysterious replication ability, truly scared him.

"Yes, my ability is replication, but I don't necessarily have to touch your body. Touching the flames you use also works."

Ethan snapped his fingers, and a stream of flame appeared at his fingertips, then gradually grew larger until it was half a person tall.

"Wow, I thought your ability could only be used with a lighter, but it turns out you can just use it directly."

"So, you haven't developed this ability well. The gift God gave you has been turned into trash by you."

John saw that Ethan could easily use flames, and the look in his eyes seemed to carry pity, disdain, and contempt.

As if in a huff, he immediately snapped his fingers like Ethan, wanting to create flames out of thin air.

But he snapped for a long time, his knuckles even hurting a bit, yet he still couldn't produce flames.

"This! What's going on? Why can't I use it?"

He shook his trembling hands, making forceful movements, but he just couldn't emit flames.

A voice gradually formed in his mind: he really hadn't used his ability well.

And Ethan, opposite him, was a genius; with just one contact, he achieved an effect that John hadn't reached in over a decade!

Bobby and Kitty, standing by, were dumbfounded.

Ethan at this moment had a very strong aura of a superior, just standing in the same room as Ethan gave them a feeling of being suppressed.

Moreover, Ethan's replication ability exceeded their imagination.

They originally thought he could only use abilities to the same extent upon contact, but the truth was that Ethan could replicate abilities far beyond the original owner's.

It sounded terrifying; who would dare to conflict with him in the future?

At this moment, Pyro was completely questioning himself, pushing Iceman aside at the door and frantically running out of the room.

Iceman shrugged helplessly, then walked towards Ethan.

"I'm sorry, Ethan, John's temper is just like that. Can we please not tell the teachers about this?"

Kitty, however, interjected, asking,

"Ethan, how did you do that? How can you replicate abilities just by touching fire?"
