★Nuel's POV★
Out of everything Eryndor told me, he made no mention of what he had stolen from my wolf.
He spoke of his lost days, of how he'd ended up trapped inside my body and how he couldn't leave. Of how he needed me and how somehow, I needed him too.
My wolf still lay sprawled beside us on the cold floor, eyes dim, body unmoving. Even as Eryndor finished speaking, it couldn't talk. It just breathed shallowly, its strength drained as if something vital had been taken.
Then, the door appeared on the wall again, glowing faintly like before. Without a word, Eryndor turned toward it and I followed.
He led me back into the room where my body lay.
Except this time, the air was different. The calm was gone. The scent of panic clung to everything. Healers rushed back and forth, bumping into each other, shouting orders, passing herbs and vials with trembling hands. My body jerked violently on the bed, limbs seizing without control.
"You'll die soon," Eryndor whispered beside me.
