Chapter 1 - Before Her Life

Even before her first breath, her life had already been written in whispers.

Her parents were once the picture of happiness.

Laughter echoed in their small home, promises were made under quiet night skies, and her father's love for her mother seemed unshakable. But that was before the pregnancy.

When her mother told him she was expecting, something in him shifted. He began to come home late, his clothes carrying the sharp scent of alcohol.

The warmth in his eyes dimmed, replaced by a coldness that grew with every passing day.

With nowhere else to go, Mary's mother found shelter in her sister-in-law's house. But instead of comfort, she met cruelty. Every day was a reminder that she was unwelcome sharp words at the dinner table, suspicious glares in the hallways, silence heavy with judgment.

It was within that storm of shame and bitterness that Mary came into the world.

Her first cry was not met with joy. No smiles greeted her arrival, no celebration followed her birth. Instead, the room was heavy with resentment, as though her very existence was an inconvenience too great to bear.

And so began the life of a girl destined to carry burdens she did not choose.
