Chapter 9 - Ch-9, The other side

Room no. 15C

I had just come back from the ground. After changing my clothes and washing up, I sat down to practice again.

I practiced for five periods, then stood up and picked up the book Simplified History by Atharva Garfield. Since I had already grasped the basic knowledge of this world, I began reading this book to get some idea about its history.

From what I've read so far, this continent is divided into three major regions—Tesseris, Atherion, and Velore. They are separated by two great rivers: the Nuksaw River, which divides Velore and Atherion, and the Triom River, which divides Atherion and Tesseris.

Currently, all three regions are ruled by different empires. Tesseris is ruled by the Solarion Empire, Atherion by the Veythral Empire, and Velore by the Obsidian Empire.

The relations between these empires are strained, and there's a high possibility of war in the future. This is also the reason I've been given such high priority—so that they can use me as their weapon. In the end, I guess I'm just a tool... sighs

I pushed those thoughts out of my head and continued reading.

*Knock*

"Come in," I said.

It was Emma, a student in the Research Department—someone I've known from the very beginning.

"Hey, Emma. What is it? Do you need something or any help?" I asked.

"No, no, thanks for asking, but I don't need anything. I just came to inform you that today is the capital's birthday, and it will be celebrated at the 30th period in the meeting hall. Please be on time so we can celebrate together," she explained, her face bright with a smile and her eyes shining.

"Got it. Anything else?" I asked.

"No, you continue your reading," she replied after noticing the book in my hand.

"Okay," I said, and with that, she left the room.

---

It was almost the 30th period. I dressed up and went to the meeting hall. The hall was enormous—circular in shape, with a large round table in the center. Four straight corridors extended from it, each leading to different rooms, kitchens, and other facilities.

When I arrived, I saw Miss Margaret, Miss Khushi, and Master Andrew, the head of the Adventure Department. They were all dressed nicely and were talking to the capital, laughing and enjoying the moment.

I sat down at the dining table and started eating. The food here tasted similar to that of Earth.

Thinking about Earth reminded me of my family. I wonder how they're doing… I thought.

---

Earth, Kumar House:

Ayushi:

It's been almost two years since my brother disappeared. No sign of him leaving the house, no trace of kidnapping… he just vanished, like he never existed.

Our family hasn't been the same since then. Mother isn't the same anymore. Father isn't the same anymore. Everything has changed. No one is happy like before.

We contacted the police, but still no sign of my brother.

With tears filling my eyes, I thought only one thing: Come back, brother… come back from wherever you are. Just come back… we miss you.
