Chapter 7 - Surprising outcome

Lucius watched with growing disappointment as the demon he expected to struggle to fight against the humans or even get one shotted by them wasn't even getting damaged by the girl's spells.

The male had managed to escape by using what looked to be a stone.

'Why would they come to hell if they were this weak?' Lucius thought incredulously

The 'confident' human girl didn't look so confident anymore and was slowly backing away, she had an expression of panic and disbelief on her face along with the same stone that human male had used to teleport out of hell.

'Maybe I can try something.' Lucius thought

Lucius slowly got up from his hiding spot and clenched every part of his body, planning to run as fast as possible to where the girl was and then steal the stone in her hands.

The world turned extremely slow in Lucius's point of view and his mind became razor sharp and extremely focused, anything and everything apart from his goal was now ignored. All thoughts in his mind suddenly stopped and disappeared.

Lucius had once again, now willingly, entered the state of mental blankness.

Lucius could see the ice shards created by the female mage in slow time, they were so slow to him he almost pitted the foolish human. He quickly moved towards the girl in his enhanced perception state, still seeing everything in slow motion.

When he had arrived in front of the dumb girl, she hadn't even realised he was even there, Lucius didn't even use his shadow as he punched a hole right through her, even destroying the fancy noble looking clothes.

His little body even flew through her donuted body due to how small he was.

And that was when the enhanced perception and the incredible boost in speed suddenly disappeared. When the girl finally realised what had happened her face morphed into a horrified and fearful expression.

She stuttered, trying to form words that were not forming as she choked on her own blood, her hands reached down where her torso was supposed to be, grasping empty air as she seemingly tried and failed to spawn her guts back into existence.

She finally managed to mutter one word before she died though.

"D-Demon" She forced out

'Isn't that obvious?' Lucius laughed in his mind

* Thud *

Her donuted body finally fell down, blood spilling everywhere as her dead body bled out.

And that was when the sudden hunger came over Lucius.

A small light blue orb slowly flew out of the corpse of the girl, Lucius had to actively stop himself from lunging at the damned thing like a wild beast.

He also had to actively enforce his will on the connection he had with the demon he defeated because as soon as the orb flew out of the girl's body, his connection with the demon started to waver, as if it was trying to break free. It was literally salivating from all mouths, Lucius had no doubt if he wasn't holding it back it would have already pounced on the thing.

'No hasty moves, no hasty moves no hasty moves.' Lucius had to continuously repeat this in his head due to how much this was affecting him.

Eventually, Lucius had managed to once again tame the damn creature and could now think properly.

'This, is most likely a soul ' Lucius thought in wonder

'I ca-'

'Im just gonna eat it, I cant resist this feeling forever, and im a demon so it should be beneficial to me.'

And so Lucius did just that, he quickly ran up towards the floating soul and grabbed it. With the last bit of resistance he could muster against this feeling he wondered how he was able to grab a soul with his bare hands, then that thought quickly left his mind as the soul found its way into his mouth.

In an instant a wonderful, amazing and pleasurable feeling washed over him, it felt so good it might just be better than sex, like it was to the point Lucius would choose this feeling over sex 9 times out 10.

Lucius could even feel himself get slightly stronger, not as much as gaining a last name but a boost nonetheless. He could feel his reserves of demon energy increasing, he realised however that his infernal essence was not increasing at all.

Lucius stood there for about 30 minutes just staring at the sky and thanking Nemur and even his 'rival' for allowing him to be reborn as a demon.

….

…..

…..

'Ok' Lucius calmed himself, shaking off the almost intoxicating feeling he got when consuming the soul.

'That was both the best feeling I have ever experienced in my entire life and also incredibly dangerous, but if I could barely resist it I doubt newborn demons would be able to resist it, they seem mindless and not very intelligent at all.'

Lucius finally managed to shake off the entire feeling as he looked around and suddenly stilled.

'....Where was that other girl?' Lucius thought

Lucius quickly called his demon to his side and his shadow tentacle started entering into its coiled state. He looked around, making sure not to overlook anything and realised….that the girl was gone.

'What the hell?'

'I vividly remember seeing three humans…..the guy, the girl I just killed and the cowering girl that was fearful of everything.'

'So…how did she escape my sight?

Lucius quickly thought about everything he did since seeing the three humans, so as to figure out what the hell was happening.

' So first, I saw them, the three of them. Then I ordered my demon to attack them, then the male stole a stone from the cowardly girl, then broke it and left.'

'After that it's like my perception couldn't perceive the girl anymore…..and for some reason I thought it was normal and did not question it.'

'Then I charged at the girl who was attacking my demon, still completely ignoring the other one….then when I finally killed her I didn't check to see if she was around….I can partially blame that on the feeling that suddenly came over me but even before that….Its like I couldn't see this girl for too long!'

'Is this some sort of special ability!?' Lucius thought

'Well now I know she has some unique ability, I'll be ready this time, wherever she is.'

Lucius turned to the dead corpse, looking at the stone that had fallen out of the girl's hand when he punched a hole through her.

'Lets see what this is.'

Lucius made his way over towards the stun and picked it up.

As soon as he did however, the stone crumbled to dust in his hands.

'...'

'Well, not much of a loss to be honest, I have no idea where it would take me. But based on the guy's excitement when he was using it I think it's safe to assume that it probably takes the person who crushes it to the human world. Not a place I want to be right now, especially when I'm so weak.'

….

….

….

Lucius had now nestled himself back in his little fiery embrace near the volcano, he was analysing everything about the 'fight' that had happened between him and the human girl.

He had activated Mental Blankness and it felt calm, what was most surprising though was the incredible boost in speed it gave him and the almost god-like perception he got from using it. He didn't know where the speed boost came from, it was a mental ability why would it boost his speed?

And the extreme perception boost was unexpected but very welcome, he basically had a no consequence sharingan.

'Though without the ability to copy things.' Lucius thought in amusement

'All I had to do to get it was die, suffer in the void for over ten years then get saved by a god. Pretty simple to be honest.'

Lucius had a good laugh before he decided enough was enough.

' Well, I can't stay here forever, I have to explore more of my surroundings now. I should be able to take on any newborn demon with me and my pet demon so I should be able to freely explore the area.'

Lucius got up and headed outside where his pet demon was waiting for him. He realised over time that it was getting easier and easier to control this demon. Like the will of the creature was slowly submitting completely.

He could already order it to do literally whatever he wanted it to do but now it had a certain ease to it that wasn't there before.

Lucius made his way towards where he first saw his pet demon and started exploring from there. He kept walking with his pet demon following closely behind for about three hours.

He made sure to remember the path to his base just in case he needed to run and escape from something.

Eventually after another three more hours he stumbled upon what seemed to be a village, not an ordinary one though obviously, he was in hell.

The entrance to the village had two wooden poles that had two skulls attached to them, Lucius didn't know whether or not those were human skulls or demon skulls. He also moved with extreme caution because mindless newborn demons can not create an entire village, so either there was a demon of higher rank here or there was an anomaly.

Both were bad for Lucius right now.

He made sure his tentacle was in its coiled state and ordered his pet demon to walk in front of him.

Then he stopped and realised that if something attacked him from behind he wouldn't have the demon to protect him, since he could already see in front of him he told the demon to continue walking behind him

'Tired of calling you pet demon, your name from now on will be ... .Zafar.' Lucius thought while looking at the demon.

Surprisingly, Zafar gave off an appreciative feeling from the link towards Lucius when Lucius told him his name.

'I guess that explains why it was getting easier to control him, it looked like he was getting comfortable.' Lucius thought in amusement
