Chapter 14 - Chapter Fourteen

Chartreuse…Tuesday…

Myself and Evan were seated silently on the cold tiled floors of the bathroom. None of us said a word but we had questions to ask.

I took slight peeks at Evan and I noticed that he was just staring at the ground without blinking. He looked distant and lost, confused and worried. I wondered if it was because he saw me in that form. I never expected to turn into that at the taste of blood and now…I can't get my mind off his blood…

The fucking blood of a gay!!!!

"There should be a perfect explanation for all these?" He muttered "I was expecting Daphne to be here and not you…" he trailed off as he proceeded with his sentence.

"No wonder Daphne wanted to rush after you immediately you walked out. She got caught up with Samuel and I was curious to know if you are a vampire. I mean…no one knows the kind of demon you are so I was hoping to find out." I confessed.

Evan still didn't look up. He seemed like he was in a daze. A painful daze he had to wake up from.

"I…we…we are evil…." He kept on muttering to himself. Tears were welling up in his eyes and that got me surprised.

Was Evan Ville crying?

I crawled towards him. I somehow felt a sense of responsibility when I noticed he was crying. Almost like…I had to take care of him.

"Why are you crying?" I asked, trying to reach out to him but he effortlessly pulled away like I was a plague. My hand was left hanging in the air and I wondered why what he did burned my chest. It wasn't supposed to be a surprise. We hated each other.

I retreated from him at that thought. I hated this guy before me. I shouldn't be helping him.

"Are you a vampire or another type of bloodsucker?" I asked and that made him look up at me with a strange emotion in his eyes.

"You already know everything. You helped me elaborate it even." He said in a low voice.

My eyes widened an inch. What he was pleading for me to tell him where actually relating to what he truly was? I never really thought about it even. All I ever thought was his connection with Logan Howard and not the fact that his parents were Hades and Vandidar. He was definitely a creature of stone and darkness by his father, Hades but what about his mother?

"What then are you?" My curiosity got the best of me.

He looked down but I didn't miss the fact that his eyes watered. Was it really saddening?

"You see these vines wrapped around me…" he said, looking down at himself. The dark green vines wrapped around his body gave him a scary aura and his eyes were no longer azure but orange.

"What about them?"

"This is what shows that I am a Vandidar descendant but by Hades. I am a Luran. I am a demon who can't control his urges to drink blood. I am dark on all angles. I have no light inside me. Look at what I did, I would have killed you. It was even worse than the time I bit into Daphne. I emanated darkness this time. Evil, sin. I emanated them without knowing and I could have killed you…" he continued to speak, muttering to himself. I was surprised that he thought that way.

Here I thought that I was evil because I had drank blood. Ganeths never lust after blood but come to think of it calmly, I am no longer a pure blooded Ganeth but something else.

"You shouldn't think that way, Evan." I spoke calmly.

He looked up, his eyes now red. I don't think he was reasoning straight anymore.

"Why not? I nearly killed you. If I hadn't remembered that you are the girl that has…" he paused. That made me curious but I didn't push it. He sighed "I am evil…"

"I am dead." I broke out. Immediately I said that, he looked up sharply at me.

"Dead…?"

"The time you all thought I was missing, I was actually recovering at the school clinic. Beverly had made use of the two phases of the darken just to resurrect someone very dear to her. A life for a life. Since she is a death soul, all she had to do was to get me, a living insence and Sandra, a cooling catalyst for her ritual. Sandra died in the process and now her soul is in me. I died but came back to life. Yesterday, I had undergone a sudden metamorphosis that turned me into this." I smiled unhappily while raising up my thin, slender hands "The fact that my skin turned black while I drank your blood something I never experienced before." But your blood is the only meal I want right now, I thought. I couldn't add that part.

"No wonder Beverly left the school suddenly after recess." Evan lowly said.

We remained in silence for a good time before a knock on the bathroom door interuppted our thoughts.

"Evan? Chartreuse? Are you guys in there? What the hell are you doing in there? Making out?" Sheridan's drunken voice could be heard from the other side. Myself and Evan exchanged glances and he placed his index finger on his sexy thin lips…no, his lips a sign for me to keep quiet.

"You need rest, Sherry." I heard Jinx gentle voice say.

"I want to be sure none of them died while at it." I believe Sheridan winked while saying this. I heard Jinx sigh. I don't blame him. Sheridan is one stubborn werewolf.

"Chartreuse, are you in there?" His calm voice asked and there was silence for a long time.

"They are in there, Jinx. I can percieve their scents from here." She drawled.

"And what does it smell like?"

There was silence and what we heard next made us frown. It was a thud on the wall I was leaning on.

"What are you doing, Sheridan?"

"Your scent captivates me a the moment, Jinx." I heard her say in a low voice.

"You will regret your actions by morning, Sherry. You have to wait for the full moon to…" another thud was heard on the wall and this time it was louder.

"Fuck the full moon, Jinx. Fuck my bloodline. I really hate the fact that the full moon has to be on my birthday before I have a mate. I am not immortal, okay? If I wait…if I wait, I may never get the chance to love or be loved." She said, tearing up.

I really felt bad for her. I really wished he full moon would fall on her birthday. Why does the moon goddess have to be cruel to her descendants?

"You don't have to cry, Sherry. You have always been loved. Loved by your family. Loved by friends. Loved by people. Many love you, Sherry. I know there is a difference that is why I want to assure you that there is me. I love you, Sheridan. I always did. I just pretended not to. I mean, I don't want to ruin our childhood friendship. I love you so so much, Sherry. I always felt magic burst within me anytime we met." I heard him chuckle at that "That explains why something bad always happens whenever I saw you for the first time in the day or the last time in the day. It just stopped happening when I finally gained ground on my abilities." I heard him sigh "I love you, Sherry, to the moon and back. You will always be my diamond. The diamond that beautifies my world…" I heard his voice trial off and it was silent for a long while before I heard the small sound of a smack. They kissed.

I wanted to get up and congratulate them but then I noticed the sullen expression on Evan's face. My eyes widened when I remembered the fact that he loved Jinx but he just heard his love interest confessing to a friend.

I heard swift retreating footsteps; "Sheridan!!" I heard Jinx call and his footsteps followed. I turned to the guy before me.

"Evan…" I whispered but he didn't even spare me a glance. He just stood up,and picked his hoodie and slowly walked towards the door. I didn't bother to stop him but I grabbed himself by his arm making him freeze. I felt some electrocuting burns pass through my arms and I pulled away the same time as he did.

"Sorry about that… don't just do anything rash."

"Like you care." My eyes widened. Why was I suddenly feeling affected? "We should meet Dr. Fred tomorrow during recess." He said and opened the door, leaving. I stood at the door frame and watched him leave.

I sighed. Just when school resumed, I hated this guy but ever since I came back dead, I have been having this wierd feeling towards him. What exactly is it? Is it pity? Is it concern? I just could tell the feeling or emotion. I couldn't tell my emotions any longer. They have been a mess since I came back undead. I really needed to get back to my Ganeth self.

I suddenly remembered the crimson liquid of Evan. I felt my skin tingle and my tongue was about to reshape to a serpent's tongue just like it did when my skin turned black. I tried to calm down but it was hard. I really needed that taste again.

"Get a hold of yourself, Chartreuse. You have to check up on Jinx and Sheridan." I said to myself and left the bathroom immediately.
