Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Daily Life of Raising Phoenixes, Part 1

Attia lovingly embraced the two fluffy phoenix chicks, giving them a vigorous rub.

Although they were currently only turkey-sized, they already displayed a hint of extraordinary temperament.

The Purple Phoenix was covered in deep purple down, and two small horn-like protrusions on his head shimmered with a faint glow, seemingly containing infinite energy.

His purple pupils were nimble and sharp, seemingly understanding Attia's thoughts.

The Colorful Phoenix, on the other hand, was like a walking rainbow, her multicolored down shimmering with a dreamlike luster under the reflection of the lava.

"Chirp!"

The Purple Phoenix suddenly opened his tender yellow beak and let out a crisp cry.

Then, flapping his still-unfeathered wings, he wobbled towards Attia, his sharp claws leaving a few red marks on Attia's arm.

"You want to perch on the fire paulownia tree outside?"

They already had a strong telepathic connection, so Attia quickly sensed his intention.

However, although Attia was very strong, he was only a little over four years old, so it took him a great deal of effort to pick up the Purple Phoenix.

Only after he walked out of the cave did he discover that the abandoned paulownia mast had actually regrown into a towering fire paulownia tree.

However, the lowest new branches were seven or eight meters high, and Attia's small arms and legs would certainly not be able to place the two phoenix chicks on the tree branches.

Just as he was feeling troubled, Gaia, along with Captain Ethan and several other Phoenix Guards, had already arrived.

"Purple Phoenix?"

When Gaia saw that he had truly reappeared in the human world, she immediately became extremely excited and rushed directly towards Attia and the Purple Phoenix.

"Chirp~"

Unexpectedly, the little Purple Phoenix immediately bristled, and a scorching purple flame suddenly ignited on his tender wings, indicating that he was ready to throw it at Gaia if there was any disagreement.

"Purple Phoenix, don't get agitated! This is my mother, they won't hurt you."

Only then did the little Purple Phoenix retract his down, and the flame gradually extinguished, but the little Purple Phoenix clearly became somewhat tired.

"Attia, what species is that Phoenix?"

Although she couldn't get close to the Purple Phoenix, Gaia was extremely satisfied even just looking at him from a distance.

"Colorful Phoenix."

"Colorful Phoenix?!"

Gaia became even more satisfied upon hearing this; this pair of phoenixes could be considered the best among phoenixes.

"Attia, phoenixes only perch on fire paulownia trees, and they only eat seafood and fire paulownia fruit."

"Now that this fire paulownia mast has come back to life, it should be the divine tree they choose to inhabit. However, as their master, you need to personally place them up there!"

"This is the phoenixes' first test for their master! In our Eastmoor language, it's called—Nest Settling!"

"Ah?!"

Attia was already struggling to hold the little Purple Phoenix; how could he possibly climb up a seven or eight-meter-high fire paulownia tree by himself?

Attia, holding the little Purple Phoenix, looked up at the tall and straight fire paulownia tree, his beautiful little face involuntarily crinkling into a frown.

"It seems I can only use a ladder!"

Having made up his mind, Attia immediately instructed Captain Ethan,

"Ethan, quickly set up a rope ladder on the divine fire paulownia tree."

Ethan and his team were very efficient; they quickly prepared the materials and began nailing wedges and setting up the rope ladder on the giant divine fire paulownia tree.

Attia also returned to the cave and brought out the Colorful Phoenix.

As the Colorful Phoenix approached, the divine fire paulownia tree seemed to become even more lush and vibrant.

At this time, Charlotte and Joel also brought a bucket of fresh sea fish, a large plate of fire paulownia berries and fire paulownia petals, and a jar of fire paulownia honey unique to Phoenix Island.

"Young Master, it is said that these are all foods phoenixes love; please feed them and see!"

The Purple Phoenix's eyes immediately lit up the moment he saw the food, and a spark involuntarily burst forth from his amethyst-like pupils.

"Chirp~"

Sensing his eagerness and urging, Attia quickly grabbed a delicious trout and brought it to him.

The little Purple Phoenix immediately began to peck at it impatiently; with each peck, a wisp of purple smoke would rise from the surface of the fish, as if it had been roasted by flames.

In just a few bites, the little Purple Phoenix swallowed a five or six-pound fat trout.

Attia had no choice but to choose an even larger fat fish and bring it to his mouth, and the little Purple Phoenix immediately began to feast again.

"You little glutton."

Looking at the ravenous little Purple Phoenix, Attia couldn't help but shake his head dotingly, then quickly caught another one and handed it to the Colorful Phoenix, saying,

"Colorful Phoenix, you eat some too!"

The Colorful Phoenix, who had been somewhat drowsy, opened her eyes blankly upon hearing Attia's call, her multicolored down shimmering with a dazzling halo in the moonlight.

Unlike the Purple Phoenix, the Colorful Phoenix seemed to have no interest in raw meat; instead, she gently pecked at the fire paulownia berries and petals on the plate.

Finally, she drank the entire large jar of fire paulownia honey.

"It seems the Colorful Phoenix prefers vegetarian food! Hahahaha~"

The little Purple Phoenix ate five or six fat trout in a row before contentedly closing his eyes and taking a nap.

The Colorful Phoenix also quickly fell into a deep sleep after eating the fire paulownia berries, petals, and honey.

Although the Phoenix Guards were skilled, it was still dawn the next day when the rope ladder was finally set up.

"Attia, quickly place them on the fire paulownia tree!"

Gaia said softly,

"This is very important to you, so be extra careful!"

Looking at the rope ladder swaying in the wind, Attia took a deep breath, hugged the Purple Phoenix tightly with one arm, and carefully climbed onto the ladder with the other hand.

The Colorful Phoenix, on the other hand, obediently lay on a stone beneath the fire paulownia tree, watching them, her multicolored down appearing even more radiant in the morning light.

"Chirp!"

The Purple Phoenix's claws hooked tightly onto Attia's arm, afraid of falling, but he let out a clear cry to encourage him.

"Don't worry, I can do it."

Attia gently comforted the Purple Phoenix for a moment, then firmly climbed the rope ladder.

Although this rope ladder was very sturdy, it was eight or nine meters long, and the mountain wind nearby was not small, so it swayed quite violently.

If Attia hadn't been in good physical condition and his mental age wasn't already over twenty, it would have truly been a huge challenge.

It took over half an hour, but Attia finally climbed to the lowest thick branch, then carefully placed the Purple Phoenix onto it.

As soon as the little Purple Phoenix touched the fire paulownia wood, he immediately flapped his wings excitedly, his purplish-black down slightly bristling, and a purple flame suddenly rose, dyeing the entire fire paulownia tree with a layer of purple.

The tree full of fiery red fire paulownia flowers on the divine fire paulownia tree also began to slowly bear light purplish-red fire paulownia berries.

"Go, this will be your home from now on."

Attia smiled and stroked the little Purple Phoenix's head.

The Purple Phoenix tilted his head and looked at Attia, then suddenly opened his tender yellow beak and gently pecked his brow.

This made Attia feel an extreme comfort from soul to body, and he was so excited that he almost let go of the hand holding the rope ladder.

Then, Attia carefully placed the Colorful Phoenix onto the branch as well.

The Colorful Phoenix was much more composed than the Purple Phoenix; she elegantly took two steps, her multicolored down gently fluttering in the breeze, like a flowing aurora.

"Chirp~"

Amidst the Colorful Phoenix's melodious chirping, the eastern sun suddenly shot up from the horizon.

Phoenix Island, bathed in the morning light, seemed to become very different from then on.

Wherever the sunlight shone, wherever the sea breeze gently blew, it seemed to bring even more surging vitality to Phoenix Island.

Attia, standing at a high place, looked at everything before him with satisfaction, but suddenly his foot slipped,

"Crack!"

The ladder beneath his feet suddenly swayed, and a crossbar actually cracked!

"Ah—!"

Attia couldn't help but let out a cry of surprise, his body instantly lost balance, and he fell backward!
