The technician was the first to report the situation from the battlefield.
Director Fury frowned and paced back and forth across the bridge.
Agent Coulson had returned to headquarters and was now standing beside Fury, watching the remote video feed.
"Sir, don't worry. Thor is not an enemy."
"But as far as I know, Loki is Thor's brother!" Fury replied sharply. "No matter who Thor decides to help, once he makes a move, we won't be able to retrieve the Cosmic Cube." Director Fury rubbed his temples, clearly exhausted.
Xu Fu and Banner had already ended their discussion.
Dr. Banner said he needed time to digest what they had talked about. He remained in the S.H.I.E.L.D. laboratory, fully immersed in research.
As for Xu Fu, out of sheer boredom and solitude, he made his way to the bridge.
"So… Thor is there?" Xu Fu asked.
"That's right. How much do you know about Thor?" Director Fury asked cautiously.
Xu Fu smiled faintly."A little."
"Agent Fury," Xu Fu said calmly, "please open the deck. I need to step outside for a moment."
As soon as he finished speaking, Xu Fu turned and walked away.
Director Fury's gaze flickered between Xu Fu and Agent Natasha. An image flashed through his mind, and a bold thought surfaced.
Is Xu Fu planning to interfere in Thor's affairs?
He didn't know whether this would be good or bad.
Shaking his head, Fury called out to Xu Fu's retreating figure,"Mr. Xu Fu, I'll have a jet prepared for you—"
"No need."
The words had barely fallen when Xu Fu stepped straight into the air.
A thunderous explosion echoed through the sky.
Director Fury immediately issued an order."Record Xu Fu's flight! All intelligence departments, focus attention—then disperse!"
The S.H.I.E.L.D. cameras locked onto Xu Fu.
On-screen, the young man had originally been wearing a suit, but at some point it had changed into a pitch-black combat uniform. A dark cloak, like a hunter's mantle, billowed behind him.
His entire body shot forward like an arrow released from a bowstring, moving at terrifying speed. The velocity was so extreme that the surrounding air visibly compressed into dense shock masses.
Suddenly, the compressed air exploded.
In the blink of an eye, Xu Fu vanished into the distance as a tiny black speck.
"Hiss—"
Director Fury was genuinely shaken. At this moment, his thoughts were completely occupied by Xu Fu.
Even Thor, the God of Thunder, could not reach such speeds.
And if one considered the physical pressure on the body at that velocity, along with the immense heat generated by air friction—
"Report, sir! The target is traveling at over Mach 9—more than three times faster than a MiG-25! And… he's still accelerating!"
The technician rapidly relayed the data, which was immediately transmitted to intelligence agencies for analysis.
Within minutes, Xu Fu had flown directly from New York to Stuttgart, Germany.
In the mountainous region outside the city, Thor was fighting Iron Man and Captain America, while Loki hovered nearby, watching the battle below with great interest.
Loki had already intended to hand the captives over to S.H.I.E.L.D., so he hadn't attempted to flee even when he had the chance.
At the moment, he was simply enjoying the spectacle.
Suddenly, Loki's divine instincts screamed in warning. A chill ran down his spine, and every hair on his body stood on end.
He turned around abruptly.
Hovering in the air behind him was a man dressed in black, looking down at him with a faint, mocking smile.
"Who are you?" Loki asked, frowning.
He examined Xu Fu from head to toe. Although Xu Fu possessed godlike power, he was clearly not an Asgardian deity.
More importantly, Xu Fu wasn't relying on divine energy or any artifact to remain airborne.
He was simply… flying.
"God of Mischief Loki… ah—excuse me, Evil God Loki," Xu Fu said lazily."You're much weaker than I expected."
Xu Fu slowly descended, closing the distance between them. He reached out and grabbed Loki's scepter.
Instinctively, Loki didn't retreat. Instead, he swung the scepter forward, aiming directly at Xu Fu's chest.
Damn it!
Before the tip of the scepter could pierce him, Xu Fu's hand clamped firmly around it.
Loki froze.
In the next instant, Xu Fu tightened his grip around the gem embedded in the scepter.
A terrifying spiritual fluctuation erupted outward in all directions.
Bang—crack—boom!
"You broke the scepter?!" Loki staggered back several steps, shouting in disbelief."Fool! Do you have any idea what you've done?!"
Loki stared at Xu Fu in shock.
Not only because Xu Fu had crushed the scepter's divine protection with one hand, but because under the violent energy backlash, Xu Fu hadn't even moved.
Ignoring Loki's agitation, Xu Fu spread his arms slightly and exhaled softly.
The metal fragments of the scepter fell away, leaving behind a transparent, droplet-shaped gem. Xu Fu pinched it between his fingers and examined it carefully.
"The Destroyer entrusted the Mind Gem to you," Xu Fu said calmly."They really do think highly of you."
Those familiar with the story knew that Loki would later open a portal, allowing the Chitauri army to invade Earth, in search of two Infinity Stones located there—the Space Stone (the Tesseract) and the Time Stone (the Eye of Agamotto).
Unfortunately, Loki was never a true warrior. Or rather, the heroes of Earth were strong enough to disrupt the plan. The mastermind behind it all was forced to retreat into the shadows, waiting for Odin's death in Asgard before emerging again to collect all six Infinity Stones.
In the cinematic universe, Odin's true power was never fully displayed. He appeared to be nothing more than a decaying, weary old man.
But as the most powerful god of the Norse pantheon, even the mastermind feared that this terrifying old god might briefly revive and sabotage everything—just as he had once done when conquering the Nine Realms.
More than a decade later, the killer finally got his chance. Of course, that was all part of a later story.
"You… actually know about the Destroyer?" Loki's expression changed drastically.
He couldn't figure out who Xu Fu was, but one thing was certain—Xu Fu was absolutely not on his side.
"My lord," Loki said cautiously, "since you know of Thanos, then you must understand how terrifying he is. Return the gem to me, do not interfere with my plans, and—"
Before he could finish, a shadow suddenly appeared behind Xu Fu.
Loki's doppelgänger materialized, wielding a dagger and stabbing straight toward Xu Fu's heart.
This was a sacred dagger forged by Asgard. Even Superman could not withstand its power.
Xu Fu didn't even look back.
He casually swung his elbow behind him.
Boom!
An elbow strike infused with divine power instantly shattered the doppelgänger.
Loki's face changed again. Seizing the brief distraction, he attacked once more—discarding the shattered remnants of the scepter and summoning two daggers, which he hurled at Xu Fu.
"You're too weak," Xu Fu said coldly.
He reached out, seized Loki's wrist, and swung him with brutal force, smashing him straight into the ground.
Bang!!!!
The earth exploded. Rubble and debris flew everywhere.
Xu Fu didn't stop.
He continued slamming Loki down again and again with deafening impacts.
It had to be said—as an Asgardian, Loki's body was incredibly resilient.
The surrounding rocks were completely pulverized, yet Loki himself remained physically unharmed.
Still, as he lay in the gravel pit, hands clutching his chest, eyes unfocused and vacant, it was clear—
His fragile heart had suffered catastrophic damage.
