Chapter 180 - “If I can lift it, will you give me that hammer?”

Xu Fu raised his head and looked toward the sun rising on the horizon. Because of the geographical time difference, it was early morning.

The sun had just risen.

As the sunlight poured down from above, Xu Fu gathered his thoughts and placed his hand on Thor's hammer.

At those words, Thor's expression darkened. Iron Man caught the change on Thor's face and immediately fanned the flames.

"Kid, I'm not saying this to insult you, but that hammer can only be lifted by Thor. You don't really think Thor—who's got both pride and reputation—would be afraid of some snot-nosed brat like you, do you? Right, Thor?"

Tony Stark sounded as if he were firmly backing Thor, but in truth he was deliberately provoking him, pushing Thor to accept Xu Fu's challenge.

After all, if Thor refused, wouldn't that be the same as admitting he was afraid of Xu Fu?

Such an obvious provocation might make an ordinary person walk away, but for Thor, the God of Asgard—who valued honor and power above all else—retreat would be unbearable.

Recalling his father's words, Thor knew that only those who were acknowledged could lift Mjolnir.

An idea flashed through his mind.

"You can't lift it. If you can, I'll give it to you!"

The words rang out with imposing force, perfectly matching Thor's image as the God of Thunder.

But the moment they left his mouth, Thor's heart leapt into his throat.

What if… what if Mjolnir chose the wrong master?

Despite his unease, Thor forced himself to appear calm, smiling as he watched Xu Fu's hand.

Xu Fu quietly gripped the handle of Thor's hammer and pulled upward with force.

The hammer did not move.

"I told you, he can't lift it!"

Thor let out a long breath of relief and shot Iron Man a triumphant look, his heart finally settling.

Good. Good. The hammer was still smart. At least it knew who its true master was.

Father was right after all. Thor smiled in relief.

As for Xu Fu, he could clearly feel the weight of Thor's hammer.

According to the storyline, Mjolnir was forged from material extracted from the core of a dying star.

Depending on the mass of such a star at the moment of its death, it could become a white dwarf, a neutron star, or even a black hole.

White dwarfs have relatively lower density—tens of tons per cubic centimeter—while neutron stars can reach densities of up to one hundred million tons per cubic centimeter.

Judging by the size of Thor's hammer, it was impossible to lift it by brute force alone unless one possessed stellar-level power.

Moreover, Odin had placed divine magic upon Mjolnir: only those approved by him could lift it.

Otherwise, one would face Odin's decree.

"Don't be so sure. I haven't even used my full strength yet!"

Xu Fu's gaze sharpened. He took a deep breath, gripped the handle of Thor's hammer with both hands, and adjusted his stance.

Counting silently—three, two, one—he exerted himself.

Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!

Almost instantly, the mountain cracked apart. A deep fissure split open beneath Xu Fu's feet, spreading all the way down to the base of the mountain.

"Ah—!"

Xu Fu erupted with all his strength. Veins bulged on his arms, his entire body tensed to the limit.

This was the first time since gaining his superhuman abilities that Xu Fu had encountered something that required him to go all out.

As his power surged, the mountain shook more violently, as if a massive earthquake had struck.

Captain America had just barely avoided the falling rocks from before and was nearly at the summit now. He could even see Iron Man hovering in the air.

But what was this sudden earthquake?!

What on earth were those three doing on top of the mountain?!(If you read violent novels, go to Feilu Novel Network!)

As the height of the mountain visibly decreased, Thor's expression stiffened. He glanced toward the distant village at the foot of the mountain and hurriedly activated his divine power, protecting the surrounding area from collapsing.

"Even with only sixty-five percent Kryptonian genes, under the sun, I am invincible!" Xu Fu roared inwardly.

He did not possess complete divine power, and this was precisely when the traits of the Hulk card came into play.

Xu Fu's emotions surged, and his strength increased explosively. Only then did he truly realize how terrifyingly powerful he had become.

Yes…

Thor's hammer trembled slightly.

Thor's eyes nearly bulged as he stared at the scene before him.

Fortunately, after wobbling briefly, Mjolnir fell still once more.

"Haha, it still didn't lift!"

The tension finally drained from Thor's face. He patted his chest and let out a breath. "This guy really is strong. Too bad he still can't lift Thor's hammer."

"Not necessarily," Iron Man said thoughtfully. "I feel like this kid still has strength left."

Tony Stark couldn't be sure of Xu Fu's limits, but his instincts told him that Xu Fu had not fully erupted yet.

Thor, however, was already convinced. He waved his hand dismissively. "Tin Man, you're wrong. He can't lift it. And even if he could, I don't need that hammer anymore!"

Thor spoke with great confidence, and Iron Man made an involuntary sound of surprise.

On Xu Fu's side, solar energy combined with the Hulk card's attributes granted him near-limitless power. He truly was using brute force to contend with the weight of Mjolnir itself.

But beyond the hammer's physical weight, he was also resisting the divine restriction Odin had placed upon it.

"Divine power of Odin… King of the Gods!"

Xu Fu could not be certain how much divine power Odin had invested into Mjolnir, nor how his own divine power compared.

Yet that vast, majestic force inspired a deep sense of reverence within him.

As the conqueror of the Nine Realms, Odin was undeniably formidable. Though aged and no longer in peak physical condition, that did not mean his divine power had weakened.

Just like mages—the older they became, the stronger their magic grew.

"If Odin himself were here, I wouldn't be his match. But this is only a divine restriction. I refuse to believe I can't break it!"

Xu Fu was stubborn by nature. Once he set his mind on something, he would not give up easily.

Besides, he had already declared that he could lift the hammer. If he failed now, it would be a real disgrace.

"The god who executes punishment!"

He raised his eyes to the sky and roared the name of his god.

In an instant, dark clouds covered the heavens, and countless lightning bolts flickered ominously within them.

Crack—boom—crash!

A sea of thunder erupted overhead. A bolt of lightning of unimaginable thickness descended and struck Xu Fu directly.

Thor's smile froze.

He stared at Xu Fu, bathed in silver lightning, his eyes glowing silver-white—no, it was as if the God of Thunder himself had descended to the mortal world.

"Hey, hey, Thor," Iron Man muttered quietly, "are you Thor… or is he Thor?"

Thor's face instantly turned iron-blue, leaving him utterly speechless.

Mjolnir, which had only trembled slightly before, now began to shake violently.

You can't lift it.
