"Where is Loki's scepter?"
On the bridge's conference deck, Director Fury appeared to be questioning Agent Natasha, yet his gaze ultimately settled on Xu Fu.
Steve answered honestly, "Xu Fu destroyed Loki's scepter, but there was a gem inside it. On the side."
After a brief pause, he added, "I think our search for the Cube can start with that gem. It feels very similar to Hydra's weapons."
"I don't know much about Hydra," Director Fury said thoughtfully, "but the power of that scepter is definitely related to the Cosmic Cube."
Xu Fu smiled and shook his head slightly."Director Fury, first of all, this item is called the Mind Gem."
He extended his hand, and a transparent container materialized out of thin air.At its center lay a droplet-shaped yellow gemstone.
"Secondly," Xu Fu continued, "Dr. Banner, you cannot control the power of the Mind Gem. Otherwise, you could take it and study it yourself."
With that, he casually tossed the container to Dr. Banner.
"The Mind Gem…" Fury narrowed his eye. "So Loki used this to control Barton and Dr. Erik?"
His gaze never left the container in Banner's hands.
Both the Cosmic Cube and the Mind Gem were treasures beyond imagination for Earth.
"You could say that," Xu Fu replied calmly, "but the Mind Gem requires a special vessel to function properly. Loki's scepter was crushed by me while the Mind Gem was still active."
Xu Fu had attempted to manipulate the Mind Gem with his divine power, but failed.
Perhaps his divine power was still insufficient—or perhaps a special medium was required, such as Loki's scepter or the Infinity Gauntlet.
With such vessels, controlling the Infinity Stones became far easier.
Thor rested Mjolnir at his side and frowned."What do you mean by 'still active'?"
"Thor, can't you sense the spiritual fluctuations of the Mind Gem?" Xu Fu replied."It is constantly releasing psychic energy. That energy subtly influences everyone present."
The Mind Gem was radiating power without pause.
Because Xu Fu already knew the course of events, he quickly traced the source of the disturbance.
Dr. Banner, still holding the container, stiffened. The moment he realized what Xu Fu meant, he flung it onto the table as if shocked, leapt to his feet, and retreated several steps.
He was clearly worried that a certain green giant might lose control under the Mind Gem's influence.
Xu Fu almost forgot about that detail.
"Relax. Just construct an energy barrier around it. The Mind Gem is extremely important. Leave its research to Tony."
As soon as he finished speaking, Xu Fu raised a finger. A bolt of lightning flashed, forming a sacred barrier around the transparent container.
Fury's expression changed instantly. He subconsciously rubbed his remaining eye, unable to fully believe what he had just witnessed.
His gaze flickered between Xu Fu and Thor—only to see Thor's expression remain completely calm.
Director Fury's heart began pounding.
This Xu Fu couldn't possibly be Thor's brother… his name was Xu Fu.
"Loki had Agent Barton steal several materials," Tony said as he entered the conference room already wearing his suit."One of them was an iridium meteorite—an element capable of stabilizing portals."
"While I'm not certain how Loki intends to open the portal," Tony continued, "he's still missing one critical component."
"Energy," Xu Fu said immediately."To activate the Cosmic Cube, you need an ultra-high-density energy source, heating it to 120 million degrees to break the Coulomb barrier."
Tony Stark's eyes lit up instantly.
"Right—and unless Dr. Erik figures out another way to stabilize quantum tunneling… hey, you—what's your name again?" Tony added casually. "You're the guy who beat the God of Thunder earlier, right?"
Hearing Tony mock him again, Thor bristled and stepped forward angrily, but Tony completely ignored him and instead extended his hand to Xu Fu.
"My name is Xu Fu. And no—there is no other viable method to stabilize quantum tunneling," Xu Fu replied."Tony, let me give you a less-than-perfect analogy. Imagine spacetime as the surface of water. Because matter cannot coexist in the same space, it becomes divided into separate worlds. If you try to pass through that surface, you trigger matter transformation issues."
"To solve this," Xu Fu continued, "the teleporter itself must be upgraded. It must accelerate the transmission space to near light speed at the moment of teleportation, allowing for heavy-ion beam fusion. Dr. Banner has also acknowledged this theory."
What Xu Fu described was, in essence, the foundational principle behind Kryptonian phantom-drive technology.
As his explanation concluded, a system notification sounded.
"Ding! Friendship points increased to Friendly. Tony Stark's character card unlocked."
Due to the system's inherent bias toward superpowered attributes, Tony's character card was rated White-tier, but with a special annotation:
Creativity and intelligence—Purple-tier Hero level.
In other words, once Xu Fu equipped Tony Stark's card in his main slot, he could combine Kryptonian technology to design a Purple-tier Hero-class powered armor.
After listening to such a long chain of scientific jargon, both Director Fury and Captain Rogers rubbed their temples.
It was impossible to hold a normal conversation with this group of researchers.
Dr. Banner, who had been directly referenced, nodded and said,"Xu's hypothesis is theoretically sound. But as Tony mentioned, energy remains the biggest obstacle."
Energy capable of distorting space had always been the greatest barrier to human space exploration.
Tony fell silent for a moment, thinking."Energy isn't the problem. With the Arc Reactor, I can generate enough power to tear space apart. The real question is how to achieve directional spatial transport…"
"Ahem," Director Fury cleared his throat."Gentlemen—are we forgetting something? Our primary objective is to locate Loki and recover the Cosmic Cube, not debate spacetime theory."
Thor, Steve Rogers, and the others nodded in agreement.
Tony rolled his eyes at them as if looking at a group of primitive apes.
Ignorant mortals.
Xu Fu took out a spacetime signaling device and handed it to Tony.
"This is the answer you're looking for. As I said earlier, if spacetime is like water, then every surface has ripples. Space is static, invisible, and intangible—but it is still a form of energy, one that can be explored."
In essence, both space and time are forms of energy.
Just like the Space Stone… and the Time Stone.
Tony examined the device in his hand, growing more astonished the longer he looked."So… you came to our universe using this?"
"It was precisely because this device malfunctioned—combined with the energy surge of the Cosmic Cube—that I was thrown into your universe," Xu Fu replied.
Tony stared into the distance, absently rubbing the device between his fingers.
"Xu Fu," he said slowly, "you should really come visit Stark Tower sometime. The first ten floors are dedicated entirely to R&D—I guarantee you'll like it."
He paused, then added,"And… can I take this back to the company? Maybe I can repair it for you.
