Chapter One: The Meeting of the Blue Eyes
The morning was quiet, and the sun shyly slipped through the pink curtains of the room to gently caress her pure cheeks. The alarm clock rang with its usual sound, waking Sarah from her sleep.
Beep beep beep…
Sarah moved slowly, her blue eyes fluttering like two clear sea waves, and childish sleepiness appeared on her round, pale face. She got out of bed, and her thick black hair fell over her shoulders like the night's curtain.
She whispered to herself while yawning: — "Ah... a new morning, and another day at school."
She entered the bathroom with soft steps, washed her face, looked in the mirror for a few seconds, then smiled lightly at herself. — "It won't be a bad day... I think."
She put on her school uniform, simple and elegant: a white shirt, gray skirt, and long socks. She added a few simple touches to her hair, then grabbed her bag and left her room.
Downstairs, her mother was waiting with a light breakfast: a sandwich and orange juice. — "Good morning, Mom!" — "Good morning, my dear. Did you sleep well?" — "Yes, thank you."
On the other side of the city, inside a grand palace surrounded by gardens and fountains, there was noise and commotion.
In a large hall with white columns and a decorated ceiling, stood a tall, handsome young man with chestnut eyes and olive-toned skin. His name was Alexander Wilson, 25 years old, wearing a white shirt unbuttoned at the top and elegant black pants.
In front of him stood an elegant elderly man in his seventies, with stern eyes and a booming voice. — "Alexander, I've said enough! It's time for you to settle down. The family needs an heir, and marrying a Louis daughter will be beneficial for all of us."
Alexander shouted angrily, his voice echoing off the palace walls: — "You don't understand! I won't marry for your benefit, nor for the family name!"
He slammed his hand on the table, then quickly turned and left. His steps were angry and fast, as if fleeing from a cage that had become too tight. He opened the palace's grand door, got into his black sports car, pressed the gas pedal hard, and sped through the city streets.
Inside the car, he thought bitterly: — "I am not a commodity. Should I belong to a stranger just because my grandfather decided? This is madness."
Later, he parked near a small café by the street leading to a high school. He turned off the engine and leaned his head back on the seat with a heavy sigh.
At that moment, his eyes suddenly caught sight of a girl passing by the car.
She was walking with her friend, laughing softly while carrying her backpack. Her black hair shone under the sunlight, and her blue eyes radiated life. Her round face, white as milk, and her childlike features captured his heart from the very first moment.
His eyebrows rose in surprise, and he whispered to himself: — "Who is she...? I've never seen anything like this before."
He followed her with his eyes, and his heartbeat gradually quickened. In his mind, she was no ordinary girl — she was... different. Pure.
Sarah stopped for a moment to adjust her hair tie, turning her face towards the car without noticing who was inside. Alexander smiled a small, gentle smile, for the first time in days. — "I think... this day won't be so bad after all."
