Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Romantic Cinema

The person in front of him wasn't anyone else but Maeve Winters, whom he had just interacted with last night.

Maeve regarded him with a captivating smile.

She asked, "Why? Is it surprising?"

It was indeed a bit surprising.

Dirk Carter could never have imagined that someone with such an angelic face and devilish figure would be a police officer, moreover, a deputy leader of the special task force from the city bureau.

"Not exactly surprising, just that I'm having a hard time recognizing you with your clothes on," Dirk said.

"Let's go."

Maeve pointed to the door with her finger.

Dirk felt a chill down his spine: "Where to?"

"I'll treat you to dinner, then a movie, as a thank-you for your treatment yesterday."

"Is that all?"

"Yes, just like that!" Maeve said.

What kind of move was this?

Dirk was scared out of his wits, sweating buckets down his back, only to find out after all this drama, it was just dinner and a movie?

He was somewhat unhappy about it.

He stood up and said, "Miss Maeve, I have things to do, maybe another day."

He was just about to leave.

Maeve's voice came from behind: "The name Rardin Grant, you should be quite familiar with it, right?"

Dirk stopped dead in his tracks.

Maeve continued, "Either you come with me, or I'll make sure you stay, your choice!"

How annoying.

This woman was actually threatening him.

And it was a blatant threat.

To think he had kindly helped her with treatment.

Seeing Dirk frozen in place.

Maeve also smiled slightly, and walked out of the office door.

Having dinner with a beautiful woman is always a delightful thing, but during this meal, Dirk had no appetite at all, as the issue with Rardin Grant loomed like a sharp sword over his head.

After dinner.

Maeve drove them to the cinema.

Standing at the entrance, Dirk was still hesitating about whether to go in.

Maeve took the initiative to hold his arm, intimately saying, "Come, accompany me inside."

Like being pushed into action.

Dirk had no choice.

It was a newly released, high-grossing romance film.

The theatre was packed.

The seats Maeve bought were right in the middle, in the best spot to watch the movie.

The movie was good, but Dirk couldn't focus; just as he was closing his eyes to take a nap, he felt a warm sensation beside him.

Then, Maeve's voice sounded, "Didn't you say there should be a second round of treatment? How about here?"

"Here?"

His sleepiness vanished instantly.

He glanced around.

Although the cinema was dark, with only the screen glowing, it was filled with people. Dirk couldn't even entertain the thought of treatment in such a place.

"Miss Maeve, are you crazy? There are people everywhere,"

he whispered in her ear.

Maeve chuckled lightly.

"Don't you think treatment in such a place is more effective? It's so thrilling."

The argument made sense.

But...

Dirk was still hesitating.

Maeve suddenly grabbed his hand, sliding it up under her T-shirt.

In that instant, it was like being electrified.

At that moment, Dirk realized, Maeve was actually braless under her clothes.

Dirk had witnessed her nearly perfect body, had also touched her body, but that was in a private room. At this moment, they were in a cinema filled with hundreds of people. The feeling was indeed a first for him.

Initially, he was a bit anxious.

But he gradually noticed that everyone's attention was on the movie.

It boosted his courage.

He turned sideways.

His hand massaged the acupoints on Maeve's body.

Once done with the upper body, he wandered to the lower body.

Even though the cinema was dark, Dirk could still sense Maeve's body starting to respond.

Just as she had said.

Treatment in such an environment was indeed more effective.

By the time it was ending, Maeve no longer had any interest in the movie. She closed her eyes slightly, pursed her lips, seemingly striving to control her emotions. Occasionally, the light from the screen would cast a faint blush on her face.

Mission accomplished.

Just as Dirk was about to withdraw his hand.

Maeve suddenly stood up.

She grabbed Dirk by the wrist.

Said, "Let's go!"

Go?

The movie wasn't over yet.

But Maeve seemed beyond caring, pulling Dirk out of the theater.

When they stepped into the elevator, Dirk noticed Maeve's breath had become slightly rapid, her eyes filled with tenderness. This state clearly showed that the switch of her body had been turned on. The massage just now had ignited her inner flame.

As soon as they returned to the car in the underground parking lot.

Maeve asked, "What's your favorite fruit?"

"Uh?"

"I asked, what's your favorite fruit?"

An inexplicable question.

Dirk pondered for a bit and said, "Um... Lychee!"

Maeve suddenly opened the armrest box, rummaged a bit inside, and took out a lollipop with the packaging indicating it was indeed lychee-flavored.

She popped the lollipop into her mouth.

After swirling it around a few times.

She took out the lollipop again.

Then, like a hungry wolf, she wrapped her arms around Dirk's neck...

An earth-shattering, soul-stirring kiss.

With a lychee flavor.

When emotions run deep, they're hard to suppress.

At first, they were in the front seats, but as things progressed, they moved to the back seats. In the enclosed space, they completely succumbed.

One was Maeve, who had never been with a man, and the other, Dirk, who had been bottled up for so long.

It was like two flints striking together, bursting forth in dazzling sparks.

In the dim underground parking.

The car swayed rhythmically.

The car windows fogged up with a thin mist.

If you got close enough, you might even hear some heavy breathing.

The entire process lasted at least over half an hour.

When the car's shaking gradually stopped, both were slumped in the backseat, without the strength even to dress.

"Sis wasn't lying, this stuff sure is fun."

Maeve said, looking at Dirk with a hazy gaze.

Dirk felt the same.

Tonight's thrill was something he hadn't experienced before. The body, long parched, had finally been released, and most importantly, Maeve was more beautiful than any woman he'd ever known.

Just as he was about to say something.

Maeve suddenly asked, "Rardin Grant's death, did it have anything to do with you?"

"No, but I did see him the night he died."

Dirk detailed the events of that night.

Maeve suddenly sat up straight.

She stared at him sharply for a moment.

Sighed a long breath and said, "I believe you're innocent, but right now, you're the only person who appeared at the scene, and naturally, the prime suspect. Things will be difficult later."

"No, there's someone else. As long as he tells the truth, I'll be fine."

"Who?"

"The hit-and-run driver, Darian Brooks."

Dirk said.
