Chapter 164 - Chapter 158: Death of the God Ego

"Confidence is a good thing." Facing Thanos's threat, Ron chuckled, "Just don't be overconfident, Thanos."

"Eternal?"

After clashing with Ron, energy ripples swept out, and they both retreated in space. Ego stared at Thanos with some anger.

As a Celestial, he recognized Thanos's origin.

After this Eternal appeared, he didn't even glance at him, daring to ignore him.

Especially the identity of an Eternal made Ego even more furious.

Thanos, who had narrowed his eyes and was about to act due to Ron's words, turned to look at him.

"Ego the Living Planet, I've heard of you in the Universe.

I heard you don't need to eat, so I can spare you today."

The Universe's resources are limited. If a living Planet needed to eat, how much would it consume? That was something he, who was destined to save the Universe, could not tolerate.

"Spare me?

You Eternals are nothing more than servants created by us Celestials.

How dare you disrespect your Creator."

Before Thanos could move against Ron, Ego instantly erupted in a thunderous rage, an unstoppable killing intent, and a torrent of divine power spewed from his mouth.

After only meeting Thanos for a dozen seconds, he furiously attacked him.

Ego had traveled the Universe in his divine power avatar state and knew his own origin: he was a Celestial.

Because of his congenital deformity, he had never tried to find his kin, but he understood all the secrets of the Celestials.

The Eternals were created by the Celestials, serving as their subordinates and servants.

"Creator?"

Thanos snorted coldly, unleashing a vast surge of cosmic energy with a punch, effortlessly blocking Ego's attack. He asked with suspicion, "You are a Celestial?"

"How dare you, Eternal servant!"

Further enraged by Thanos's scrutinizing and doubting gaze, Ego's massive Planet body charged forward.

After only speaking two sentences, his killing intent towards Thanos instantly surpassed even that towards Ron.

As a Celestial, Ego was arrogant to his core towards mortals, viewing them as short-lived insects and ants that would die in the blink of an eye.

However, even though he only had a brain, his strength surpassed many Celestials, but his congenital underdevelopment still made him somewhat sensitive and insecure when it came to matters concerning the Celestials.

Compared to the hostility of outsiders, the disrespect and slight of a servant can sometimes cause more anger, and this was Ego's state of mind at this moment.

He abandoned Ron and charged at Thanos.

"Servant?"

Being called a servant repeatedly, a somewhat annoyed Thanos unleashed terrifying purple cosmic energy between his fists and palms, engaging him in a fierce battle.

Ron, who had been observing, now became the observer.

Watching the two fighting, a faint smile played on his lips.

"It's quite a coincidence that these two guys, one an Eternal genetic mutant freak and the other a Celestial with a congenital developmental deformity, are both unique cases in their respective races."

Thanos showed where his confidence came from.

Before, he only had a powerful physical body; now, his physical body was not only more than ten times stronger but also gained the ability to manipulate cosmic energy.

The enraged Ego was not his match, and was even being suppressed.

Boom!

Thanos unleashed a punch, and a purple cosmic energy ray blasted through Ego's divine power torrent, carving a chasm on his divine power-protected Planet body, a chasm comparable to the East African Rift Valley.

At the bottom of the dark abyss, the Planet's core was faintly visible, a sphere encased in extraordinarily hard rock.

Breaking through his defense was something Ron, who had fought Ego for a long time, had not been able to do.

Even though this was neither painful nor itchy for Ego, the crust was merely a shell he condensed, not his flesh and blood.

But he couldn't help but be shocked and enraged; his fragile brain was protected by the crust.

Ego quickly retreated, manipulating the surface to heal and repair itself.

"Ron, hand over the Stone."

Thanos, who clearly didn't have him in his eyes, turned his gaze to Ron, carrying an overbearing aura like a Universe ruler.

He displayed extraordinary power.

Thanos extended a thick finger, and a high-intensity cosmic energy ray attacked Ron.

Buzz!

"You want the Power Stone."

With a cold gaze, Ron swung his lightsaber, blocking the ray, and said unhurriedly, "You'll have to see if you can take it from my hands, Thanos."

Thanos's demonstrated attack power surpassed his own.

But he showed no panic, instead, he swung his lightsaber and charged forward.

"Insects, insects!

You will all die."

Waving his tentacles, Ego also launched another attack at Thanos, while not forgetting Ron, roaring furiously, his roar echoing across the galaxy.

The three began a chaotic battle.

Unimaginable terrifying energies constantly collided.

Ron had more than one Power Stone in his hand, even if his manipulation of the Reality Stone couldn't be used for combat.

But altering reality to teleport him, Jane, and the others away was easy.

Since he was in an unbeatable position, there was naturally nothing to worry about.

Moreover, once Ego died, he would immediately gain a large amount of ability points.

His eyes gleamed with battle intent, and he wielded his lightsaber, holding nothing back, his attacks sharp and fierce, dodging the attacks of the two as if he could foresee the future.

"Everything is already destined."

Now possessing unprecedented power, Thanos exuded an extremely strong cosmic emperor demeanor, acting unhurriedly, just as he did when fighting the Avengers on Titan and Wakanda, as if the outcome was already decided.

"I am the destiny of this Universe.

It is destined that I will save this Universe."

Here, Ron and Ego's battle turned into a three-way free-for-all.

Ebony Maw and Corvus Glaive, two of the Black Order, watched the terrifying battle with dread, knowing they had no chance of getting involved.

They turned their attention to the silver spaceship.

"Take that spaceship."

Ebony Maw waved his hand, his voice cold as he gave the order.

Ron had not deliberately hidden himself when he appeared in the Land of Nihility with Jane and Daisy, and the spaceship's appearance had not changed.

He wanted to capture the people on the spaceship to threaten Ron.

Swish swish!

One by one, the fleet's ships shifted their dark muzzles, immediately aiming at the spaceship where Jane and the others were.

Overwhelming artillery fire rained down.

"They dare to attack us, return fire."

Daisy ordered angrily, and the spaceship's pilot controlled the ship, which, unharmed, fiercely retaliated against the bombardment.

The spaceship was made entirely of Vibranium, and The Collector's modifications and upgrades were not limited to the navigation system.

Thick energy laser cannons blasted the fleet's ships into sparks.

One spaceship against an entire massive interstellar fleet still had the power to retaliate.

Bang!

As the battle progressed, a good while passed.

Suddenly, a purple lightsaber sliced through the divine power defense, instantly extending and erupting into a massive pillar of light.

The surface was torn open again, and even the Planet's core brain was impacted.

Ego retaliated with shock and anger, swinging his tentacles to strike.

Ron dodged, then turned and swung his sword again, tearing through Ego's defenses once more.

"Your divine power is almost exhausted, Ego."

Among the three, Thanos was the strongest, Ron had infinite energy from the Power Stone, but only Ego's power was not strong among the three, and his power was limited.

Moreover, the chaotic battle was most disadvantageous to him; his Planet-like size was completely incompatible with agility, making him almost a target for the two to sandwich.

"I am a Celestial who created the Universe, how dare you kill me?!"

Ego was not a fool and realized this, but his size also meant that escape was hopeless, and his angry retaliation was useless.

Bang!

Suddenly, the massive yellow crystal giant-like figure in the starry sky vanished, and Ron's main body appeared through the torn earth, at the center of the ground, on the stony sphere much harder than steel.

"The Universe also has an end, Ego."

Inside was Ego's brain, and he plunged his lightsaber down fiercely.

A towering purple pillar of light pierced through the sphere.

"No!"

Ego, as the Living Planet, immediately let out a cry of unwilling defiance that echoed through the starry sky.

The next second, the divine power covering the Planet's surface dissipated, and the bulging giant face froze, signifying the death of a God.

Ron glanced at the rapidly increasing numbers on his panel, and his eyebrows shot up.

"I suddenly realized that I seemed to have underestimated the ability points I could gain from killing Ego."
