Chapter 78 - 78

You want to know what kind of organization S.H.I.E.L.D. is?

It's not some 'small-time' organization like the FBI or CIA, which only stir up trouble domestically.

Instead, it's a super organization established by the five permanent members of the United Nations!

It's not just within America, but has branches and offices in many countries and regions internationally.

It's a proper international intelligence agency; calling it a 'behemoth' is no exaggeration.

Such a giant would be destroyed?

That's utter nonsense.

Of course.

Nothing in the World is eternal, and even an organization of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s caliber might one day vanish into the river of history.

Nick Fury can understand that.

But even if such a thing truly happened, it would have to be in the very, very distant, unimaginable future, right?

Yet that diary said it 'won't exist for many more years,' meaning it would be destroyed within a few years?

That's simply a global joke!

S.H.I.E.L.D. is currently in a period of booming development and prosperity; within the visible few years or decades, it will only become more prosperous.

Destroyed?

That Satan truly dares to say anything.

Of course, this isn't even the most absurd part.

The most, most absurd, utterly ridiculous thing is that the other party actually said that he and Black Widow destroyed S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Who is he?

The Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.!

And Black Widow?

A senior Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Are these two people out of their minds, gone insane?

Or did their brains get damaged by someone while on a mission?

They would destroy S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Alright, even if we assume, for argument's sake,

that Eyepatch and Black Widow, for some absurd reason, actually intended to target S.H.I.E.L.D. and destroy it.

But they would need the ability to do so!

No matter how capable or impressive Nick Fury is, even being in a high position within S.H.I.E.L.D., he simply couldn't accomplish such a thing, could he?

So, what the diary ultimately said about destroying S.H.I.E.L.D. was truly too absurd.

"I would, together with Director Fury, destroy S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

"Why would this happen?"

"And how did we manage it?"

Black Widow, who had received the news from Coulson and was driving towards S.H.I.E.L.D., had a completely different reaction from Eyepatch.

Although she couldn't see it and wasn't specifically told, Coulson had no idea what Nick Fury was holding.

But when Coulson briefly described Nick Fury's reaction to Black Widow, she immediately understood.

Director Fury must have also received a diary, just like her!

So Black Widow dared not delay, immediately picked up this strange diary, and rushed towards the Triskelion at the fastest speed.

However, Black Widow didn't expect that while she was still on the road, the diary updated.

How could Black Widow hold back any longer?

She immediately began to check it.

Anyway, for a frontline Agent like her, with all her superior qualities, diverting some attention while driving to check the diary's contents was not a difficult task.

The result of this glance was not trivial; she actually saw such a shocking piece of news.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was actually destroyed!

Why?

How was it done?

These were the two thoughts that flashed through Black Widow's mind immediately.

She and Nick Fury were both 'senior employees' of S.H.I.E.L.D.; what reason or standing would they have to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D.?

It simply makes no sense at all!

Black Widow couldn't help but furrow her brows deeply, and her brain began to spin rapidly.

She tried to think and understand this incomprehensible matter.

Could it be... because of HYDRA?

And after racking her brain, Black Widow could only think of this one possibility.

The diary had long recorded that there were HYDRA moles within S.H.I.E.L.D., and it even hinted that the mole was a high-ranking individual.

Otherwise, how could a Level Seven Agent like Black Widow be working for HYDRA?

So, is there such a possibility?

Director Nick Fury is that HYDRA mole, and that's why he destroyed S.H.I.E.L.D.?

It must be said, this idea was truly bold and startled Black Widow.

But Black Widow thought about it repeatedly and could only come up with this single possibility.

Otherwise, she really couldn't understand why Nick Fury would destroy S.H.I.E.L.D..

Of course, even so, there was still another huge loophole in this hypothesis that couldn't be explained.

Why would she also be involved?

She is not HYDRA!

Could it be that Nick Fury deceived her, making her carry out certain crucial missions, which then led to this outcome?

It's not entirely impossible.

Segmented management is inherently Nick Fury's style; many Agents, when performing missions, don't even know their ultimate goal.

They just mechanically complete the tasks Nick Fury assigns.

So in the future, was she simply used by Nick Fury like that?

Is that how it is?

Could it really be like that?

No!

It won't be!

Black Widow's mind was in utter chaos; she simply couldn't accept, nor was she willing to accept, this only possibility she had thought of.

She shook her head, shaking off these incredibly shocking thoughts.

While expertly driving with one hand, Black Widow began to pay even more attention to the diary.

She tried to get a specific answer from the diary.

[No, that's not exactly accurate.]

[After all, there are probably more HYDRA moles within S.H.I.E.L.D. than S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents, right?]

[S.H.I.E.L.D.? Serpent S.H.I.E.L.D. would be more fitting!]

[Haha, I can't help but laugh when I think about it. Director Nick Fury is truly a failure as a Director; he doesn't even know S.H.I.E.L.D. has changed its surname.]

[A Director who reaches this point, if it were me, I'd just buy a block of tofu and bash my head in, it's too humiliating.]

There are HYDRA moles within S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Nick Fury almost couldn't help but scoff out loud.

This assertion was as absurd and ridiculous as the claim above that he, Eyepatch, destroyed S.H.I.E.L.D..

After all, who doesn't know these days that HYDRA has long ceased to exist!

The diary even mentioned earlier that there were HYDRA moles within S.H.I.E.L.D., and now it's even more absurd.

HYDRA moles outnumber S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents?

S.H.I.E.L.D. should be called Serpent S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Is this Satan hallucinating?

Or was he drunk when he wrote the diary, and his mind wasn't clear?

He writes all sorts of absurd statements; there should be a limit to slandering oneself, shouldn't there!

He, Nick Fury, is the most excellent Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.; under his management, S.H.I.E.L.D., if not completely impenetrable, is absolutely the safest and most secure place in the World.

Nick Fury wouldn't dare claim that S.H.I.E.L.D. can 100% withstand infiltration by other intelligence agencies, as such things are pervasive, and no one can make such a guarantee.

Sometimes, for the greater good and for long-term planning, Nick Fury would even deliberately keep a few spies infiltrated by other agencies.

However, there is one thing Nick Fury can guarantee.

In some core, critical areas, they are all S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel, all under his control!

Indeed.

Even if S.H.I.E.L.D. was infiltrated by some forces and had some internal parasites, it would still be completely under control.

The diary actually said that the moles had infiltrated to the point of outnumbering their own employees; it's so ridiculous that Nick Fury doesn't even want to retort.

Even if a dog were put in his position, it couldn't be so incompetent, could it?

This analogy isn't even insulting himself; it's insulting the dog!

After all, how could there be more moles than legitimate members? Who is infiltrating whom then?

"It's truly unimaginable, has S.H.I.E.L.D. been infiltrated to such an extent?"

Black Widow, on the other hand, was deeply shocked.

When she previously learned that a high-ranking Agent in S.H.I.E.L.D. was a HYDRA mole, she knew that HYDRA's infiltration had reached a certain level.

After all, a high-ranking Agent being a mole doesn't just represent one mole.

It's like a mold spot appearing on bread; it's not just a problem of one mold spot.

Rather, the bread around the mold spot has already rotted completely.

A high-ranking Agent being a mole similarly indicates that HYDRA's infiltration is already quite astonishing.

But even so, Black Widow hadn't imagined that such infiltration would reach such a shocking degree.

This, moles outnumbering the legitimate members, can you believe it?

If it weren't for the many things recorded in the diary that had all been verified one by one, Black Widow wouldn't dare believe such a thing either.

Even so, Black Widow still expressed enough doubt about this bombshell information.

No other reason, it was too shocking.

How could such a global behemoth as S.H.I.E.L.D. be infiltrated to this extent?

If even an organization like S.H.I.E.L.D. has been infiltrated like this, then what about other agencies and organizations, and other industries?

If HYDRA truly had this capability, they could probably just rule the World directly, couldn't they?

However, if this level of infiltration recorded in the diary is true, then perhaps it can explain why she and Director Fury would destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. together, right?

Because such a S.H.I.E.L.D. truly cannot be called S.H.I.E.L.D. anymore.

Besides destroying it, there really is no other solution!

It makes sense!

Logically speaking, the logic behind the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. destroying S.H.I.E.L.D. now makes sense!

So, in the end, Director Fury is not HYDRA; he is an 'original' S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent!

The diary has also given a clear explanation on this point.

Black Widow is still relieved.

But at the same time, another problem arises.

Her own Director is clearly a very capable person, so how could he become so useless that S.H.I.E.L.D. was infiltrated into that ghostly state?

Is this still the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. she knows?

[Looking at it this way, the seemingly impressive Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury, is a big shot, an important figure in the eyes of ordinary people.]

[Even Stark, who is always arrogant and cool, dares not act presumptuously in front of him.]

[But in reality, he's just a complete failure who has achieved nothing.]

[S.H.I.E.L.D. goes without saying.]

[Eyepatch relied on his Skrulls subordinates to climb up the ranks, finally reaching the Director's position, only to end up losing the entire S.H.I.E.L.D.]

A failure who achieved nothing?

Nick Fury's already dark face couldn't help but darken even more.

No one had ever belittled him so much, looked down on him so much!

He is the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Looking across all of America, he is undoubtedly a high-ranking figure.

The immense power he wields can profoundly influence the World, and a single word from him can decide the lives and deaths of many.

Like Tony Stark, who has countless supporters worldwide, so admired and so impressive, it's just that Nick Fury isn't willing.

If he wanted to, he could directly strip Tony Stark of everything!

And what about Senators, Military bigwigs, political and business magnates, and so on and so forth.

Those who are truly big figures in front of ordinary people are the same.

In front of Nick Fury, they only face one choice: whether Eyepatch is willing to deal with you.

If Nick Fury is unwilling to deal with you, everything is fine.

But if Nick Fury truly intends to deal with someone, it's a sure thing.

No one can stop him!

And yet, he's still a failure?

Do you even hear what you're saying?!

Whoosh!

But as Nick Fury's gaze continued downward, falling upon the name 'Skrulls,' the disdainful smile on his lips instantly froze.

What's going on?

Why would Satan know that he had developed Skrulls subordinates?

This matter, just like Nick Fury's initial idea to form the Avengers, was a secret known only to Nick Fury himself!

Something he had never revealed to anyone else!

But why, again, did this Satan know?

Could it be that Talos and his group leaked this information?

It shouldn't be!

No one on Earth, besides him, Nick Fury, knows the true identity of Talos and his people.

How could Talos and his group casually leak it?

But if not, how did Satan find out?

Yes, although unwilling to admit it, what the diary said was actually true.

Nick Fury's ability to smoothly ascend to the position of Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. was largely due to Talos and those Skrulls.

A significant portion of his illustrious Military achievements, enough to elevate him to the rank of Director, were accomplished with the help of the Skrulls.

"Skrulls subordinates?"

"Aren't Skrulls aliens?"

Inside the mansion, Tony Stark was completely stunned.

The term Skrulls had been mentioned earlier in the diary, so the Playboy was naturally not unfamiliar with it; he knew it was an alien race.

He also knew that Nick Fury had once been involved in the war between the Skrulls and the Kree.

But Tony Stark didn't understand what that war was truly like, nor was he too concerned.

He subconsciously thought that once the war ended, it was over, as it was a war between two alien races.

But now, it seems that some Skrulls are actually working for Nick Fury?

What the hell.

Is that Eyepatch that impressive?

He even has alien subordinates now?

And he even climbed to the position of Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. relying on these alien subordinates!

Awesome!

That Nick Fury, he's unexpectedly playing it so well!

Although in the diary, Zhou Cheng, just as he had belittled himself previously, disparaged Nick Fury to no end.

But the Playboy still looked at Nick Fury in a new light once again.

This guy is indeed not simple.
