Chapter 77 - 77

What's going on?

This isn't right!

This rather bizarre discovery made Nick Fury's brows furrow.

Everything else on the monitor was displayed normally; everything inside the office, including himself, Eyepatch, was perfectly fine.

But why was the diary the only thing not showing up?

Nick Fury even conducted another test, holding the diary in his hand and checking the monitor again.

The result was...

The monitor showed his hand as empty, holding nothing at all!

He just maintained the posture of holding something.

This diary has a problem!

A big problem!

It might even be a supernatural item!

As Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., as Eyepatch who had dealt with many supernatural incidents,

He didn't show any panic but immediately made this judgment.

"Coulson, come here!"

After making this judgment, Nick Fury didn't delay.

He immediately dialed an internal line, calling the honest Coulson over.

"Officer, what are your orders?"

Coulson arrived in front of Nick Fury at the fastest speed, standing like a spear, awaiting his boss's instructions.

"Take this... ahem!"

Nick Fury casually picked up the diary from his desk, about to instruct Coulson to take this "diary" for analysis.

But just as he was about to say the words "diary," he suddenly felt his throat gripped by an inexplicable force!

Making Nick Fury utterly unable to speak!

Nick Fury's single eye couldn't help but widen, a look of disbelief and bewilderment on his face. What just happened?

Had he been cursed with witchcraft or some evil spell?

However, because it had just happened, and there wasn't a clear causal pattern or connection yet,

Nick Fury temporarily didn't connect it to the diary.

"Officer, are you alright?"

"What was that just now?"

Meanwhile, Coulson, across from Nick Fury, felt a sense of strangeness while also being surprised and alert.

Why did this scene in front of him feel so familiar?

It seemed Natasha had performed a similar act in his office back then?

The honest man didn't know what was wrong with his Officer, nor if it was related to Black Widow's earlier incident.

But judging by the performance, it was too similar.

"Not sure yet."

"Just now, I was going to say this book... cough, cough, cough!"

Halfway through his sentence, Nick Fury once again clutched his throat, struggling in pain.

Because he was once again gripped by that inexplicable force.

Only when Nick Fury's attention shifted and he no longer intended to utter the words "diary" did the force disappear.

Nick Fury then returned to normal.

At this moment, Nick Fury clearly perceived the pattern.

Because both times he "fell ill," it was when he was about to say "diary."

So...

Nick Fury's single eye began to fixate on the diary in his hand.

Is this thing behind it?

"Officer, are you trying to tell me about a certain 'suspected 084' that you can't verbalize?"

"Once you try to do so, you'll be stopped by an inexplicable force?"

Coulson became even more certain of his guess.

Because Nick Fury and Black Widow's "symptoms" were absolutely identical.

"You've experienced the same thing?"

Nick Fury's brow immediately raised, and his gaze instantly sharpened as he stared at Coulson and asked.

"Yes, Officer."

"About half a year ago, Natasha came to my office. She brought something with empty hands that she wanted to report to me."

"But she couldn't say anything about that item. Whenever she tried to tell me something, she was just like you were just now."

"Also, Officer, judging by the posture of your hand, are you also holding that 'suspected 084'? But I can't see anything."

Meeting Nick Fury's gaze, Coulson truthfully reported what had happened at the time.

Nick Fury's expression suddenly shifted.

Exactly, that's what happened!

Black Widow's state as described by Coulson was exactly the same as his own just now.

And...

Nick Fury picked up the diary again and waved it in front of Coulson.

So Coulson really couldn't see this thing?

Coulson was right; this thing could indeed be classified as a 084.

"Then I guess Natasha must have analyzed that '084,' right?"

Nick Fury immediately made a logical guess.

"Yes, Officer, Natasha went to the technical department."

"But she still couldn't confirm the existence of that 'suspected 084.'"

"But now it seems this 084 truly exists, doesn't it?"

Coulson sighed.

When Black Widow came to Coulson back then, Coulson was actually half-skeptical about the matter.

After all, with not a shred of physical evidence, how could he believe it?

But now, Coulson believed.

After all, his own Officer couldn't possibly be acting with Natasha to tease him, could he?

"Natasha went to the technical department?"

Nick Fury understood.

Since Black Widow had gone to the technical department to analyze the diary but still couldn't confirm its existence,

Then it seemed unnecessary for him to analyze this diary again.

After all, the equipment in the technical department was still the same. If Natasha got no results, neither would he.

In that case...

Forget it!

After a brief thought, Nick Fury made this decision.

Since he didn't know who sent this 084 to him, he would just see what the other party was up to!

"Coulson, what happened today must stay within this office, no spreading it outside, understand?"

"Also, tell Natasha to come over as quickly as possible."

Having made up his mind, Nick Fury issued this order to Coulson.

"Understood, Officer."

Coulson replied and left to carry out the order.

And after Coulson left his office, Nick Fury, unable to contain his curiosity, began to open the black leather diary.

Nick Fury really wanted to see what such a supernatural diary contained!

"Zhou Cheng's diary"

The large characters on the title page immediately caught his eye, making Nick Fury freeze.

Zhou Cheng?

Isn't that Satan?

He had just returned from Satan, and then, back in his office, there was a diary named after Satan?

So, after all that, this supernatural diary was given to him by Satan?

Nick Fury suddenly understood.

According to the intelligence S.H.I.E.L.D. possessed, that Satan clearly also wielded some kind of extraordinary power.

Even the wings on his back were very likely not high-tech products.

They were also an extraordinary item.

In other words, that Satan possessed supernatural power.

So it wasn't strange for the other party to "give" him a supernatural diary.

Considering the timing, right after he had left the other party, Nick Fury's gaze became meaningful.

Satan, what are you up to?

With a sharp grin, Nick Fury no longer hesitated.

He continued to flip through the diary, browsing its specific contents.

However, as he read, the smile on his lips began to subtly freeze.

???

What the hell?

Nick Fury had initially thought that Satan "sending" such a supernatural diary to him must have a certain profound meaning.

But what was written in it?

A transmigrator from another parallel Universe?

Knowing the direction and future of this World?

And predicting many things in the tone of someone who had already experienced them?

So what exactly did that Satan want to explicitly or implicitly convey through this method?

Nick Fury couldn't grasp Satan's precise intention for a moment.

But Nick Fury wasn't impatient.

He calmly and patiently continued to flip through the diary, browsing its subsequent content.

Soon, Nick Fury had a general understanding of the diary's contents.

The diary's content was broadly divided into two aspects.

The first was predictions from someone who had already experienced things, and the second was unrelated daily life.

Nick Fury first filtered out the daily content and focused his attention on the predictions of the future.

Initially, Nick Fury didn't take this seriously at all.

After all, in Nick Fury's opinion, the predicted content was worthless, even deceptive.

Aside from things like a Super Hero era, an era of chaos, which couldn't be verified, there were also things that had already happened, like Stark being kidnapped.

Although the diary specifically recorded the date, stating it was written before Stark's kidnapping, would Nick Fury believe it?

Couldn't you just make up any date you wanted?

It lacked any persuasive power.

"Wait a minute!"

However, when Nick Fury saw the diary's account of his own mental journey to establish the Avengers, he was stunned.

If other things recorded in the diary could be fabricated, then this matter absolutely could not be.

Because this matter was known only to Nick Fury!

He had indeed intended to form the "Protectors" after Captain Marvel left.

And it was indeed because he saw the name "Avengers" on Captain Marvel's plane that he changed the name.

The diary got everything right, down to the smallest detail!

But the question was, how did that Satan know about this?

It was impossible for the other party to know.

Nick Fury had never told anyone!

Could it be...

Nick Fury's heart stirred.

Could it be that the other party was truly a transmigrator from another Universe, as he claimed?

Isn't this too exaggerated?

As Nick Fury, who was always very suspicious and couldn't even trust his closest people one hundred percent, he naturally wouldn't easily believe this answer.

How much to trust the content of this diary, Nick Fury felt he still needed facts to speak for themselves.

He would wait for Black Widow to arrive, understand the situation from her, and then make a judgment.

As these thoughts flashed through his mind, Nick Fury unconsciously flipped through the diary.

Before he knew it, he had reached the last page.

Nick Fury paid attention and saw that it recorded precisely what had just happened.

"Didn't expect it, didn't expect it, today I was actually visited by Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury."

"What's even more unexpected is that Nick Fury actually wants me to join his Avengers."

"I almost scoffed on the spot."

"Join the Avengers? Am I so full of myself, or do I have nothing better to do?"

"Isn't being a billionaire good enough? Isn't enjoying the life of a rich person, eating and drinking every day, good enough?"

Nick Fury.

Nick Fury's lips couldn't help but twitch, and his entire face also twitched.

As the head spy of the World's largest intelligence agency, Nick Fury naturally knew that "Nick Fury" was a type of egg-based food from China.

Precisely because of this, his old face turned even darker.

Damn it, even if you don't want to join the Avengers, do you have to be so insulting?

So, is this Satan's purpose?

To express his determination to refuse joining the Avengers in this way?

But very quickly...

Nick Fury shook his head.

He didn't believe Satan would go to such great lengths for such a purpose; no sane person would do something like that.

The other party demeaning the Avengers, looking down on the Avengers, was very likely just a facade.

Like the other contents of his diary, it was all an attempt to explain something deeper.

But what exactly that was, Nick Fury couldn't discern now; he could only analyze it step by step.

"Nick Fury, pfft!"

Tony Stark in his mansion almost burst out laughing.

Zhou Cheng's analogy was truly vivid and apt, simply a stroke of genius.

Nick Fury's head, at first glance, wasn't it just like that Chinese food, the Nick Fury?

Similar, it was really too similar!

And besides seeking him out, Nick Fury also went to see Zhou Cheng?

But to be fair...

Zhou Cheng usually annoyed the Playboy when he insulted him, but now the attitude he displayed deeply pleased Tony Stark.

That's right, isn't being a super-rich person good enough?

How desperate must one be to join that Avengers?

"Although I refused on the spot, I must have been put on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s surveillance list regardless, right?"

"Although understandable and unavoidable, I have to say it's really annoying!"

"But well, surveillance is surveillance, just bear with it and it'll pass. S.H.I.E.L.D. won't exist for many years anyway."

"Once Black Widow and Nick Fury team up to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D., it will all be over."

S.H.I.E.L.D. will be destroyed?

What a joke!

Nick Fury almost scoffed aloud.

For no other reason than that it was simply too ridiculous.
