Chapter 1 - chapter 1; second chance

Pain.

That was the last thing Isabella Iyke remembered before her world went dark. The betrayal of the man she loved, the mockery of so-called friends, and the cold indifference of her relatives as her life was destroyed…

She had died with tears in her eyes, filled with regrets and unspoken rage.

But when her eyes opened again, she was not in a hospital, nor in the cruel, final place she expected. Instead, she was back in her room—her old room—in the Iyke family mansion. The soft velvet drapes, the familiar scent of roses, the faint sound of her mother's voice calling from downstairs…

Her heart stopped.

This was impossible.

She rushed to the mirror and froze. Staring back at her was not the broken, ruined woman she had become, but the youthful face of her eighteen-year-old self. Her eyes were clear, her skin unscarred, her hair glossy and untouched by grief.

"I… I've been reborn?" she whispered, clutching the edge of the vanity.

Tears spilled down her cheeks, but this time, they were not of despair.

Heaven had given her another chance.

No longer would she be the naive, foolish girl who trusted the wrong people and lost everything. This time, she would protect her family, cherish those who loved her, and destroy anyone who dared to harm her.

At that moment, her mother, Lady Evelyn Iyke, pushed open the door. "Isabella? You're still not dressed? Dinner is ready. Your father doesn't like to be kept waiting."

Isabella turned, and for the first time in years—years she had already lived once—she saw her mother alive, healthy, and smiling. Emotion surged through her chest as she threw her arms around her.

"Mother…" she whispered, voice breaking.

Evelyn blinked, startled. "What's gotten into you, child?"

Isabella only smiled through her tears. This time, I will not let you die.

Downstairs, the family gathered at the long dining table. Her father, Lord Adrian Iyke, sat at the head with his usual stern expression. Beside him were her two brothers:

Damian, the quiet, calculating one, whose loyalty ran deeper than he ever showed.

Marcus, the lively and reckless one, who always found a way to cause trouble but adored his sister fiercely.

As Isabella entered, all eyes turned to her. She sat down gracefully, hiding the storm raging in her heart.

No one knew yet.

But in this second life, she was no longer just the pampered daughter of a tycoon.

She was a woman reborn—with unfinished vengeance to claim.
