Chapter 43 - Louder. To Irene.

Yin's POV

Once we were done with the movie, we decided to go somewhere else.

The museum was packed despite the early hour. Apparently, the discovery of a previously unknown Egyptian tomb was enough to draw massive crowds.

I regretted agreeing to this immediately because there were too many people. Too much chatter. Too many curious glances in our direction—some recognizing me, others drawn by Irene's beauty and animated excitement.

But then I looked at her face, eyes bright with enthusiasm, practically bouncing as we waited for the tour to begin, and my regret evaporated.

For this expression, I'd endure a thousand crowded museums.

"They say the tomb dates back to the Ptolemaic period," she was saying, reading from the brochure. "And that there are artifacts that might change our understanding of the transition between Egyptian and Greek rule."

"Fascinating," I said, not actually caring about the Ptolemaic period but caring very much about the way she lit up discussing it.
