Kaios crouched over the limp carcass, his eyes gleaming with strange light. Then he started butchering— or atleast something that resembled it. He was just plunging down the jagged blade, then tore upward with savage yank.
Metalic gore and twisted fragments were burst out and scattering across the metal plain. Each pull was less about precision and more about raw frenzy.
Kaios's mentality was finally changed after this baptism of the kill and gore. Where Dante took it more sanely, Kaios had lost it.
Meanwhile outside Raion sat cross legged, observing this with a bucket of popcorn in his hand. At first he was pertifed by what he saw, but then his shoulder began to shake and soon he burst into a loud laughter.
"What a luck... oh what a luck!" Raion crackled, kernels spilling from his grip. "A monstrous and crazy disciple at the first draw, the future— ahh.. the future will be downright entertaining."
Inside the metallic plain, Kaios— who only a moments ago was behaving like a madman, oblivious to the last two beasts and their state, suddenly froze. The crazed expression upon his face, drained in an instant, as if someone had just turned off a switch.
He blinked, breathing steady again, and looked around at the ravaged battlefield.
"Did… I do this?" he muttered, his voice filled with genuine confusion, even though he knew it his art. "Well… anyway."
He shrugged off, a sliver of indifference there even when his sanity returned.
His eyes then focused into remnants of the bull horror.
"Hmm… if every alloy from these beasts carries the same traits as their bodies, then I know exactly which parts to take that will be better suited for it."
He muttered as he went ahead and started hacking the femur. The sparks agai. Filled in the environment as metal hacked with another.
After a while finished separating the entirety of femur from its body, storing it with him. Now, he possessed three unique alloys, each with their distinct properties.
His gaze then shifted to the remaining two horrors, who had somewhat recovered from the earlier blast. His focus interchanging between two.
"Centipede it is..."
Before these words could resound, Kaios had already rushed at the direction of centipede. His movements were fluid, while a metallic dust scatterring with each step.
In his grip was— a kusarigama,it's curved blade gleaming slightly. It was newly shifted form of wolf spine— the same one that made them like this, after the thirteen second randomisation.
He spun it, as he started to approach the horror, is blade cutting through wind. Then he made the first slash, one to check the defence of it. Sparks flew as the blade deflected from its metal shell.
"Tough shell, huh...",Kaios said flatly. "but will broke eventually."
He didn't stop, relentlessly striking again and again, each swing heavier than the last, momentum building with every blow.
The centipede also didn't just defend, it lashed its rusty chain at him with a striking speed, eager to corrode everything that will came to contact.
But this time Kaios didn't block it, he simply dodged past from each strike, showcasing his reacting time and dexterity.
At that the boar horror also charged from behind. Its tusks being splited and melted into ugly looking hooks, intending to yanking and pulling him, making imbalance and a perfect target for the centipede.
Kaios did not wait, he launched off the ground, using the shield made from the crow alloy to glide in air, waiting to delay for two seconds.
He counted in his mind..1..2...now
As on cue, both weapon in his grip changed, shield shifted into a machete while the kusarigama fused into a staff.
After shield changed to the machete his gliding came to an end. Gravity did its job and he started to descend rapidly. Mid descent Kaios dismissed the matchete, tightly gripping the staff with both of his hands.
He plummeted like meteor, funneling every ounce of the momentum into the staff. With both of his hand gripping the staff, he swung at it with all of his strength.
Air cracked, all the kinetic energy it absorbed in that thirteen second compressed at one point. The staff connected squarely on the torso of the centipede horror.
Craaack...
The centipede's shell couldn't withstand the impact. It burst outward, segments flying apart as if ripped from the inside. The entire section of it collapsed into heap of shells and ruined chains.
The horror didn't even manage a pained cry— before its body was torn through.
Kaios came out of that wreckage, though he himself was not unscathed. The sharpnels those manage to fly out in his direction, left some shallow cut along his chest and arms. Thin stream of lood coming out of it, soaking his torned clothes, making them clung with his body.
"Now one more to go...." Kaios said his gaze focusing on the boar in front of, while wiping the blood mark on his cheek.
Both the boar and Kaios looked at each other, then they kisAhem... charged at each other.
Its previous ugly hook being melted into a piked spear, burning with heat. Its each step being thunderous as he charged at Kaios.
Kaios gripping a club— femur of the bull horror also rushed at it, but before the boar could reached at him, a sharp spear pierced its head.
The fight was anti climatic, it did not even last a second.
"What a dumbass!" Kaios mocked casually at the dead body of the boar, violating it even after its death.
"As I had thought, it really does have the property I expected it to." Kaios spoke while caressing the the spear, which had already turned into the femur.
It has one interesting property— self reshaping memory. It could be turned to the anything instantly as long it had transformed one into it. It could remember the stress, wounds and impacts of the previous shape.
That's why it had transformed instantly into the jagged bone spear previously created by the bull nightmare.
Kaios then went ahead and started to harvest anything, that he could from the two corpses. As they were now the treasure trove for him, ready to gift him two new alloys with two unique properties.
In some time, his harvesting came to an end. From the centipede, he took its corroding metal chain, and from the boar, its tusks—super heated and ever-changing in form.
As it all ended, his eyes shifted to the horizon, lingering on the final nightmare. It had floated there from the very start, never once intervening—even as all its comrades were slaughtered.
Its singular eye, surrounding with every type of things, observed his works from the start like an invegillator.
Kaios chuckled as he started to approach it slowly.
"Looks like it's time for the, Boss Fight."
