Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: The Star of Genesis, for Humanity’s Sake

"Alright, roll call! Answer loud and proud!" Da Vinci chirps.

"Fujimaru Ritsuka!"

"Here!"

"Mash Kyrielight!"

"Y-Yes!"

"Olga Marie Animusphere!"

"Yeah, yeah…"

"Gil-kun!"

"Hmph."

"And me! Let's start the briefing!" Da Vinci declares.

"Leonardo, can you not sap all the tension?" Roman sighs, trying to rein in the recreational vibe.

"Girls together get noisy, right? Humor's key, even in a pinch!" Da Vinci retorts.

"We're about to discuss something critical! Can we stay focused? King of Heroes, say something!" Roman pleads.

"Injustice is the privilege of kings and geniuses. Commoners must endure it," I reply.

"Damn it, am I the only sane one!?" Roman groans.

If they were truly slacking, I'd snap them into line. Let's call it Da Vinci's knack for easing tension.

"Romani, I'll take over," Olga Marie steps forward.

"As Director, first, my thanks. Master Ritsuka, Mash, and King of Heroes Gilgamesh—your efforts erased the Fuyuki Singularity. Well done."

"We all pulled through! Right, Mash, Gil?" Ritsuka beams.

"Yes, Senpai!" Mash nods.

"Indeed. Has the situation improved? Any unknowns?" I ask.

"Just before, Leonardo and I restored Sheba, and Romani observed. Results?" Olga Marie prompts.

"Here," Roman says.

Chaldeas appears, still a blazing crimson sphere.

"Whoa, it's all red," Ritsuka marvels.

"The future past 2017 remains incinerated. The stars are burned out, this observatory the last stand. Outside, it's a realm of death," Roman explains.

"Chaldea's like a space colony. Step outside, and it's a dead world. Nothing connects to the outside—everything's gone," he adds.

"Romantic… or not. Nowhere to go," Ritsuka muses, unfazed.

Bold or fearless? A remarkable Master, tempered by surviving a death trap.

"So? You didn't drag us here just to confirm the status quo. What's the plan?" I press.

"Impatient, huh? Poise matters," Da Vinci teases.

"Speed over perfection, fool," I retort.

"A plan, Roman!?" Ritsuka urges.

"Of course! Look," Roman says.

The crimson Chaldeas shifts to blue, but the Earth is distorted, seven points glowing chaotically.

Those points seem like turning points in human history—revolutionary inventions, pivotal nations, decisive ruptures. The seven foundations of humanity's legacy.

We must face them, correct the distortions.

"Singularities have Grails. Time and space travel require them," Roman explains.

"The Grail is a Singularity's core. Even if you fix a Singularity, leaving the Grail means starting over. Retrieve it—or destroy it—to clear it," Olga Marie adds.

"So, we go to Singularities, grab Grails, and repeat. Sounds simple!" Ritsuka says.

"Not so optimistic. Singularities are still human history," Roman cautions.

"We must confront it—blaspheming history to save it," he continues.

Human history, woven by great figures and heroes, a tapestry of triumphs.

To fix it, we reweave it, thread by thread, steadily.

"…"

"Given the situation, I must ask you this. Call me cowardly or cunning—I'll bear it," Olga Marie says, her earlier hesitation gone, now radiating a leader's dignity.

Humans are fascinating. They resonate when struck, the vessel muses. I agree, watching the moment unfold.

"Master Number 48, humanity's last Master, Fujimaru Ritsuka. Are you ready to face this greatest trial?" Olga Marie asks.

"Will you be Chaldea's limbs, eyes, blade, and shield, confronting this broken history?"

"No vague words. Yes or no. Speak clearly now."

"Do you have the resolve?"

"Of course! Let's save the world together!" Ritsuka declares.

Reckless or truly bold?

"Hah, hahahaha! An instant answer! Doctor, this one's survival might be a hidden boon!" I laugh.

Exactly. The vessel's amusement strengthens my soul's resolve.

"I'm sorry, Ritsuka, for burdening you…" Olga Marie murmurs.

"No, Director," Ritsuka interrupts. "It's 'thank you,' right, Gil?"

Indeed. Friends don't need excessive formality.

"Mind your manners, though. You're too familiar," I chide.

"Clash physically, and you'll bond! Right, Mash?" Ritsuka grins.

"I-Is that so? Understood! Then I, Mash Kyrielight, will clash with full force!" Mash vows.

"I'll die!" Ritsuka yelps.

"Listen seriously! You heard, Romani!" Olga Marie snaps.

"Yes! Your words seal our fate! Under Director Olga Marie Animusphere, we execute the primal and final order!" Roman declares.

Chaldea stirs. The fragile plank adrift in ruin transforms into a ship setting sail.

"The endless journey to restore humanity, the Grand Order! By Director Olga Marie's decree, we proceed!" Roman proclaims.

A girl stands tall, eyes forward, driven by her will, her wish to live.

"Fulfill your duties! I'll bear all responsibility for failures! Our efforts, our struggles, will forge our future! A little whining's allowed! Together, we'll seize our tomorrow!" Olga Marie rallies.

"Keep moving forward—to our tomorrow!"

"""Understood!!!""" the group responds, resolute.

Roman called me, this nameless King of Heroes, one of them.

I can't yet say what I can do. But bit by bit, I'll choose, see, and decide.

To judge and rule all things with this supreme golden vessel—

To honor the King of Heroes, Gilgamesh, with refinement and progress, never shaming the vessel that still accepts this foreign soul.

When I return this vessel, I want to declare who I am with pride, living each day toward that.

To draw even slightly closer to the star that illuminates all.

"I'm always watching, by your side."

A voice—not the vessel's, not my soul's—strikes my heart.

"Stay strong, nameless soul."

A nostalgic voice, faintly heard.

With this, the First Order of the Nameless King of Heroes concludes. Now, the true Grand Order begins.

What did you think of the Nameless King of Heroes? Amazingly, this Gilgamesh calls others "mongrel" less than a handful of times, using names or nicknames instead—friendly!

Thanks to your warm comments, I reached this milestone despite it being a prologue! Gratitude to all who embraced this nameless soul. Good people exist beyond Chaldea too!

I'll review materials per Singularity, so updates may be slow—sorry! But if even one person waits, I'll keep trying, however clumsy.

To Babylonia! Save Uruk! Charge into the raging collection battle!!!

For now, that's all! Thank you!!
