AIDEN
"You scared me man" I said, "what are you doing hanging around in alleys?". I finally see mister all black's face and it's downright scary. He smiles and I decided to run and I came to a sudden realization that I can't move my body.
No! No!! No!!! this isn't how it's supposed to be, am not even given a chance to run at all. He moves closer silently, sniffing like a dog. No, like a wolf would.
"Son of Ra, you have the stench of your human mother" he sneered. "This is where you die"
"Absolutely not I said to myself, no way am dying here, not when am still a virgin. I feel a force building inside me hot and sinister and I begin to move my body inch by inch as he stalks closer to me. He draws out his sword to slice me when a lighting from nowhere zaps him, that wasn't me, I begin to look for the source when I see a shadow across the street. Mr all black seem to think am the one judging by the look he's giving me. Me? dumbass am frozen in place. He looks even more angry now, oh that's rich now he is definitely going to kill me was my last thought before I passed out.
DREAM STATE
"You should have been careful, you almost died you know" There's the voice from the dream.
'Where am I?"
"We are in your dream state" figures, I thought.
"What happened? I feel worn out"
"As you should" he said. The memories of the night starts pouring out,
"Am I dead?" I stood up abruptly from where I was lying down.
"No you aren't, the dead don't dream" he replied haughtily, looking at me like am stupid.
"I asked you what happened?"
"I don't know but it seems you had help, otherwise you would have been dead" I suddenly remember the shadow from across the street.
"who was that guy trying to kill me?"
"That's a death messenger, and that one is called CALCIUS. He's an average death messenger, not weak but also not the strongest, so your helper has certainly got powers to be able to defeat a death messenger of his ilk. More will surely follow after him, thinking you defeated him, meaner, stronger and scarier ones",
"That's a nice way to lift my spirit you know", I said sarcastically.
"What am I going to do from now on, how do I evade my attackers?" And i realise that am buying into what he said and he must have also figured that out judging by the knowing smile on his face.
"I will be training you in your dreams cause that's the only way I can communicate with you for now. The first training will be on how you can defend yourself, so we don't have a situation where you are frozen like yesterday" This is going to be a long night, I thought.
Am late, how did I not wake up when the alarm went off. I take a minute to get my bearing and think, so this is how my life is going to be from now on. I get up from bed to prepare for school, my phone rings, a message from Justin, "you know Shirley from yesterday, she asked for your number so I gave it to her,am just giving you a heads up" the text read.
"Why would you give her my number" I replied , before proceeding with my morning rituals.
Walking feels tiring this morning. somebody forgot to tell me that me getting tired in a dream is going to affect me in Reality, I could break his leg, argh.
"You seem weary today" a voice said and I jumped.
"you scared me, don't sneak up on me like that"
"I called out your name but you didn't answer" Shirley said.
"I didn't hear you, I was lost in thought"
"you left abruptly yesterday, did I offend you?"
"No you didn't, I was late for class"
"Mind if we walk together?" She asked, without waiting for a reply, already falling into step beside me
She has beautiful eyes, a vivid blue. How come I didn't notice yesterday?, Oh she asked a question, "No problem" I answered back. As we walked into the school I begin to realize it was a huge mistake walking with the most beautiful girl on campus. Everybody's eyes are on us, this is not good, not good at all', I mused.
"Is there a problem?" She asked,
"No, why do you ask?"
"I don't know it seemed you changed just now, like from uncomfortable to very uncomfortable"
She's perceptive, I told myself. "I don't like the attention that's all" I told her. "What's your major? I asked,
"It's Diplomatic relations, same as you. so we will be taking the morning class together and you better get used to the attention cause I intend to hang around you." she stated, smiling.
"She sat with you through out the day dude....huh, Aiden are you even listening to me?
"Of course I am", I replied, no I wasn't. Am thinking of skipping work today because let's face it, am scared and I don't want to face any more scary looking dude. Plus am alone in this except for Zain who is useless outside of a dream and my anonymous helper, who I can't rely on. This is not how I saw myself a week ago, definitely not, I had my future planned out.
"You are not listening to me, seriously you have been acting wierd since yesterday, what's up man?,
"Am just tired Justin nothing to wo
rry about"
"I think you are hiding something from me Aiden,
"am just stressed out, really!"
"Okay, if you say so anyways. Am off, see yah" he said, waving.
He isn't going to leave it alone, I thought. "Bye, see you tomorrow", I shouted.
