Chapter 8 - After the Thunder

The baby now crawls toward unconscious Reyand and puts both hands on his face and starts slapping with his very small and soft hand continuously until Reyand wakes up. When Reyand woke up, he saw the kid who got all dirty with mud on his clothes and totally wet with rainwater. After getting conscious, he tries to stand up, but he is badly hurt by the attack. Then he suddenly remembers about the oval, and suddenly he sees his head cut off from the body and dead. Now he felt shock, but first he saw all the people unconscious, and the baby looked at him and tilted in confusion.

Reyand said, "Thank God you are okay," and he saw the kid start crawling, and first he went near Jasmine and started throwing mud at her face. Then he crawls toward everyone except Alice, throws mud on all the people's faces, and wakes up all of them. Everyone was hurt badly, but more than that, they were surprised to see the monster's dead body.

Adam, in a faint voice, holding his injured hand, "Who killed this monster?" Everyone looks at each other for a response, but no answer comes. Helena tried to move to the oval dead body; after looking for a while, she said, "I know what killed him: a thunderbolt." But Durden said, "Today luck is with us." But Helena felt surprised when she started getting close to the dead body; a sudden mud splash hit her face, and a baby started throwing mud at her face. She said furiously, "You, boy," but then Reyand said loudly, "Alice, wake up, dear," while holding everyone near to her while even water sprinkled, but she did not wake up.

Reyand started crying, "Dear, wake up," but nothing happened. Then the baby came near Alice and put her two hands on her face, and a small light flashed from both of his hands. Suddenly Alice woke up. Reyand and all are surprised for a bit, but seeing Alice awake, she neglects it.

Reyand said, "Oh dear, I totally freaked out." Alice said, "I am, but I just fell asleep." Helena asks, "Do you remember anything about who killed the monster?" Alice said surprisingly, "The monster is dead. No, I just remember he tried to attack us, and I fell asleep after." Everyone is surprised, but they don't react because they all are badly hurt.

After taking rest for a while, when they stand to move, they listen to the voice; if they try to react, a large number of armed soldiers come near to the incident area and cover them with a big tall man of brown hair wearing golden silver armor with the badge of a hawk in the corner, written 'imperial force,' holding a big sword. He asks, "Who are all of you? Why are you inside the forest?"
