Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: The War Ends

However, as time passed, the Whitebeard Pirates' side clearly gained the upper hand.

Because Whitebeard was uninjured, his combat strength was greater than in the Sky Screen video.

Meanwhile, not far from the battlefield, the Blackbeard Pirates were hiding quietly, waiting for the right moment to reveal themselves.

But watching the situation on the battlefield, Shiryu of the Rain looked grim.

"Given the current situation, can your goal be achieved?" he asked Blackbeard.

Blackbeard's expression was equally serious.

He didn't answer Shiryu's question, only coldly watched the battlefield, hoping for a favorable development.

However, reality was likely to disappoint him.

With the help of the Red Hair Pirates and the former Roger Pirates members, the Whitebeard Pirates were breaking through like a hot knife through butter, quickly reaching the center of the plaza.

Even though Kizaru and the others were showing their true strength this time, they couldn't completely stop them.

As for Garp, due to his performance in the Sky Screen video, the World Government held a grudge against him.

But because the Summit War was imminent, they had no choice but to seek Garp's help.

However, they gave Garp a strict order: he must go all out in this war.

Otherwise, if Garp chose to hold back, the Marines would use all their power to kill Straw Hat Luffy.

But if Garp chose to stand with the Marines and fiercely attack the pirates this time, they would consider sparing Straw Hat Luffy's life for now.

When he received this order, Sengoku was incredulous. He intended to say a few words of persuasion, but the other party ignored him.

After coldly saying, "Hope Garp understands what is most beneficial for him," they directly hung up the Den Den Mushi.

Sengoku looked helplessly at Garp, not knowing what to say.

Garp clenched his fists and said coldly, "I understand."

After that, he said nothing more.

But on the battlefield, he truly used his full strength to block the Whitebeard Pirates' advance.

This time, the person staying on the execution platform with Sengoku wasn't Garp, but Akainu Sakazuki.

Probably because Akainu's actions in the video better aligned with the Government's requirements.

They even planned to dismiss Sengoku from his Fleet Admiral position after the Summit War and directly appoint Akainu as his replacement.

However, they hadn't revealed this intention yet, so no one else knew their thoughts.

Thus, for now, the Marines were still under Sengoku's command, desperately trying to hold off the Whitebeard Pirates.

Although the Marine side had help from the Beasts Pirates and Big Mom Pirates, these two crews hadn't sent many people.

They were no match for the fully assembled Red Hair Pirates, so the Marines began to lose ground.

Just then, the Marines' remaining reinforcements finally arrived: CP0, making their debut under the leadership of Rob Lucci.

They wouldn't normally appear now, but due to the Sky Screen's appearance, the Five Elders were worried.

Thus, they had them appear early to help the Marines fight against the Whitebeard Pirates' side.

Besides CP0, Marine scientist Vegapunk also appeared with more Pacifistas.

Their numbers were much greater than in the Sky Screen video, so their firepower was also doubled, the Marines' full reinforcements had arrived.

With this help, the Marines gradually managed to hold off the Whitebeard Pirates' side.

The fighting grew more intense; the two sides were basically evenly matched, and no immediate outcome could be determined.

CP0 directly confronted Whitebeard and Red-Haired Shanks, while Garp began fighting against Dark King Rayleigh.

Admirals Kizaru and Aokiji fought against former Roger Pirates members Scopper Gaban and Major Mulligan, respectively.

The remaining pirates, plus Luffy and his group, also began battling Marine officers, the Beasts Pirates, and the arrived Big Mom Pirates members.

The battle between the two sides lasted a long time.

Finally, with one person's help, Luffy successfully broke through and charged toward the execution platform once more.

That person was Boa Hancock, who had long arrived near Marine Headquarters but hadn't chosen to come ashore immediately.

This time, however, Hancock's assistance to Luffy was seen by the Marines, who silently decided to punish her after the war.

Hancock had clearly anticipated this, but as long as she could help Luffy, she didn't care at all.

So she quietly blocked the Marines trying to attack Luffy, supporting his efforts to save his brother.

Just as Luffy was about to reach the execution platform, Akainu, who had been defending there, immediately blocked him.

Luffy saw him.

Seeing his enemy inflamed his rage; he looked at Akainu, fury blazing in his eyes.

"It's you! Absolutely, absolutely unforgivable!"

Luffy spoke, immediately entering Gear Second and charging at Akainu.

But clearly, he was no match for Akainu now. Akainu easily blocked Luffy's attacks.

He snorted coldly, mocking, "Hmph! With just you, you think you can break through my defense? I think you should go to hell first and scout the path for Fire Fist Ace!"

As he spoke, he quickly activated his Devil Fruit ability and began attacking Luffy.

This time, Luffy's body hadn't reached its limit, so he dodged in time.

But Akainu clearly had no intention of letting him go.

He launched several more attacks at Luffy, who barely avoided them.

However, while dodging the final attack, a Marine sneak-attacked him.

Luffy found he couldn't avoid it in time.

Just as he watched the attack about to land, Sabo suddenly appeared, directly blocking the blow.

Sabo then began fighting Akainu in Luffy's place.

Seizing this opportunity, Luffy immediately reached Ace's side.

Long before, when the Sky Screen video played, Mr. 3 had secretly studied the key he replicated in the video.

So before Luffy set out, he had already given him a copy of the key.

Thus, Luffy directly took out that key and unlocked the Seastone shackles on Ace.

Fire Fist Ace was rescued once again.

Upon discovering Ace was saved, the Whitebeard Pirates members cheered. They no longer lingered in battle and began preparing to retreat.

Noticing this, the watching Blackbeard group grew panicked.

"What should we do?" Devil Sheriff Lafitte looked at Blackbeard. "Do we intercept them?"

Blackbeard shook his head. "No. I thought having more participants would be more advantageous for us. But Kaido and Big Mom didn't take it seriously, only sending a few lackeys. This resulted in Whitebeard's losses not being as severe as expected.

If we act rashly, it might backfire on us. We can only give up for now and find another opportunity later. But by then, we'll probably need to seek help from others."

"Why?" Shiryu of the Rain was puzzled.

"Didn't you hear the Sky Screen? It will show subsequent videos.

By then, our goals will probably be revealed too.

If that happens, Whitebeard and the others will definitely be prepared, making our objectives even harder to achieve.

We must form an alliance with others to truly accomplish my great ambition."

While the Blackbeard Pirates were discussing, the Whitebeard Pirates had already begun withdrawing.

Because their side's combat strength was greater this time, and thanks to some method Shanks used to release very thick smoke on the battlefield, the Marines became completely disoriented.

In the end, the Whitebeard group successfully broke through and left the summit battlefield.

The result of this battle was a victory for the pirate side.
