Once Zeus had completed all preparations, he immediately went in secret to meet with his mother, Rhea, and disclosed the full details of his plan.
Upon hearing it, Rhea's beautiful face paled in shock.
She firmly opposed Zeus taking such a dangerous risk, hoping he could find a more secure alternative, but under Zeus's determined insistence, she could only agree with immense unease and worry.
Immediately after, Zeus asked Rhea to watch over him while he personally tested the "elixir" meticulously prepared by Metis.
Though he claimed it was out of trust for Metis, in truth, how could he rest easy without trying it himself?
This was meant to be used on the God-King! There was only one chance!
And it was the most crucial step—if the God-King could not be weakened, if the invincible God-King was not made vulnerable, then there would be no opportunity at all.
Moreover, without personally experiencing the effects of the elixir, how could one grasp the timing with precision? How could he perfectly seize that fleeting, decisive moment?
He had to rehearse it once! A full, real-time simulation with no margin for error!
Once all preparations were in place, Rhea used her own formidable authority to restrict Zeus's divine body's "mobility" and vitality, causing his senses to gradually dull, his power to silently fade, and even the flow of divine laws within him to become obscure.
Without hesitation, Zeus decisively drank a mouthful of that deep and mysterious "elixir."
After testing it, his heart was greatly settled, and even Mother Rhea felt significantly more at ease.
The operation began.
Rhea asked the Goddess of Night to use her boundless darkness and profound silence to completely conceal Zeus's essence, allowing him to pose as a minor god from the mortal world.
He was then assigned as a servant in Cronus's divine palace.
Cronus paid no attention to such trivial matters, and certainly wouldn't notice a minor servant.
In his eyes were the myriad realms of the universe—why would he concern himself with a mere minor god?
As the queen of the gods, Rhea still held the authority to appoint attendants, and no one would question such a thing.
This was also Zeus's first time meeting his so-called "father god."
From his divine form alone, the God-King truly lived up to his title as Lord of the Universe, King of the Gods.
His majestic aura and imposing bearing were strikingly similar to Zeus's own.
This divine body of the God-King was, in the truest sense, flawless—an ideal fusion of divine law and physical form.
After all, he was the embodiment of multiple supreme laws. As the King of the Gods, he spared no expense in constructing his divine body with the most refined essence of the cosmos.
Every muscle, every bone, every drop of blood brimmed with infinite might, radiating immortal brilliance.
Moreover, aside from the six giants, he was the first god born of pure law to possess a physical form—a cosmic miracle created by Mother Gaia, who had poured all her effort and power into forging him.
He possessed power sufficient to split the heavens and earth.
And that was just back then.
After becoming God-King, over the endless years, he had done everything possible to optimize his divine body, continuously refining it.
Now, the God-King's physical form was, in the truest sense, flawless in every regard—a divine body of absolute perfection, imbued with infinite divine might.
His appearance, too, was magnificently heroic, his majestic form containing boundless strength.
Mount Othrys was already unimaginably vast and towering, yet Zeus had no doubt that the Second Generation God-King, Cronus, could easily shatter that immense mountain, tens of millions of miles high, reducing it to dust—as effortlessly as flipping a hand.
He was, after all, a primordial god of creation. After countless years, none questioned his strength, and none could challenge it.
So many primordial gods, no matter how dissatisfied or resentful in their hearts, still had to bow and humble themselves before this supreme God-King.
However, once a god of pure law acquired a physical body, they also became more susceptible to being targeted.
Having a body meant one could better enjoy the richness and beauty of the material world, savor the pleasures and glories of existence.
But it also meant the body could become a vulnerability—a point of attack that could not be avoided.
To gain something is to risk losing something.
This was the inevitable law of balance in the universe—an unchanging principle in the evolution of all things.
Since arriving at Cronus's side as a servant, Zeus had remained low-key and humble, cautious and restrained, silently observing everything.
After a long enough period, he finally earned a sliver of the God-King's faint trust and became his personal cupbearer.
Then Zeus discovered something that left him quite displeased.
Oceanus's "dutiful daughter," Philyra, was actually having an affair with the God-King!
It had to be noted—back in the day, Cronus had brought great suffering upon Oceanus. The entire oceanic divine race remained distant from Cronus, keeping up only superficial politeness.
Oceanus and Tethys were well-known for their kind dispositions, always loving and attentive to their children.
Philyra was not just some unknown nymph—she was a true goddess who embodied divine law, certainly a favored daughter of the ocean gods.
And yet, as a cherished daughter of the ocean, Philyra was secretly sleeping with Cronus!
She had gone to consort with the enemy—now that was a truly "dutiful" daughter.
Oceanus's dignity had been utterly trampled by this "devoted" daughter.
Still, Zeus was only briefly surprised. He wasn't overly shocked—after all, they were all descendants of Uranus. This sort of thing wasn't all that rare.
The God-King had already shown great restraint—he had only a few lovers, and most were kept hidden.
What truly irked Zeus was the matter of respect for his mother, Rhea.
A mere oceanic nymph—what kind of standing did she have? Sleeping with the God-King was one thing, but to blatantly stroll into Mount Othrys, into the God-King's divine palace?!
If she had gone to the mortal world, that would've been one thing. But she dared sneak into the divine palace?!
Utterly audacious! A blatant insult to the Queen of the Gods!
Did she not understand what "affair" meant? Having an affair meant not going to the other person's home!
Zeus had already begun scheming—he would find the right time to teach her a proper lesson, show her what it meant to follow rules, what it meant to show reverence.
Killing her outright wouldn't be easy—she was still a goddess of law, and offending Oceanus wasn't worth it.
But she absolutely needed to be taught a lesson!
She had to receive a punishment severe enough to remember for eternity—to understand the price of offending the Queen of the Gods!
In truth, Rhea herself didn't care about such things anymore. Her heart had long since become as still as water—this kind of petty matter couldn't stir a single ripple in her soul.
She had no love left for the God-King. If anything remained, it was only resentment.
Though she hadn't moved away from Mount Othrys like the other gods, she had built a new palace on a more secluded peak on the mountain.
If the God-King wanted lovers, so be it—just don't let them appear before her.
That, in fact, was a good thing. It spared her from entanglement and having to fake politeness.
