Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: How Did You Just Start Touching?

Of course, Kronos was more ruthless.

His plan was to first cast Zeus and the others all into Tartarus for imprisonment, then pull them out one by one to devour and digest them!

Completely absorbing their laws and power to achieve unprecedented strength.

Now, Kronos truly regretted in his heart that he shouldn't have offended the Night Goddess so much before!

However, upon further thought, there were also deities occupying darkness laws in the rebel camp now.

As long as he promised the Night Goddess to allow her to also devour those laws derived from darkness, it wasn't impossible to win her over.

After all, what real benefits could the Night Goddess gain by helping that group of rebels?

That rebellious son surely couldn't offer better terms than himself, right?

Kronos pondered this way and immediately made up his mind, deciding to personally visit and persuade those deities who might waver, seeking their assistance.

Deciding to act immediately, the God King's execution had never been lacking. Once he made a decision, he acted swiftly and decisively.

After discussing with Coeus and the others, he briefly instructed Coeus and Phoebe to handle the battlefield aftermath, while he directly set out to visit Themis, the goddess who wielded sacred order.

Coincidentally, Zeus had the same idea.

But before setting out to persuade the gods, Zeus had an important matter to handle first.

That was stabilizing military morale.

After Zeus and Rhea safely returned to the Olympus temple, seeing the two gods completely unharmed, Hera, the goddess of wisdom Metis, and all the gods could finally truly let their hearts rest.

Now Zeus was the undisputed core—anyone could have an accident, but Zeus and God Queen Rhea could not, otherwise everyone would perish at the God King's hands.

However, even though their hearts were much more at ease, having suffered defeat in their first battle today inevitably left the gods' emotions somewhat low, and the atmosphere in the temple was gloomy.

The gods gathered around, their gazes carrying worry and exhaustion.

Zeus was surrounded by a circle of goddesses who cared for him. Although today showed slight defeat, his face showed no trace of gloom.

He still maintained that reassuring confidence and composure, a gentle smile playing at the corners of his mouth as he called out loudly: "Gods, please follow me into the hall to be seated."

After all the deities were seated, Zeus looked around at the gods, his steady and powerful voice echoing in the hall: "Gods, this time we suffered slight defeat—it was indeed my carelessness, this was my mistake."

"The God King is ultimately still the God King. No matter how many wrongs he has done, no matter how tyrannical he is, there are still gods willing to pledge loyalty to him and serve him."

"Even though we still hold absolute advantage, this encounter has given us profound experience—facing such a terrible opponent as the God King, we absolutely cannot have the slightest carelessness or underestimation!"

His gaze gently swept over every deity's face in the hall, his tone becoming quite relaxed and optimistic: "But today we also saw through the God King's true strength and can confirm—the God King is no longer our opponent!"

"He can only use these despicable methods now, and today's tactics can only be used once!"

Zeus raised his arm and called out confidently: "Next, we need only advance steadily. The God King has no other assistance, and those despicable sneak attack methods will never succeed again! Victory ultimately belongs to us! Honor ultimately belongs to us!"

Under Zeus's optimistic and relaxed demeanor and the infection of his powerful words, the gods' slight dejection from defeat dissolved considerably, and their moods recovered much.

The great hall immediately erupted in deafening cheers: "Victory!"

After comforting and stabilizing morale, Zeus looked tenderly at Hera, his eyes full of deep concern as he asked softly: "Hera, are you alright now?"

Hera gently shook her head, a smile blooming at the corners of her lips as gentle as spring sunshine: "Zeus, I'm fine now. Thank you for avenging me."

Zeus gently shook his head. Although his face still carried a smile, his tone obviously became cold and resolute. Mentioning this immediately made his anger surge.

Although everything was under control and the hero-rescuing-beauty effect was very good, he was still very angry!

Hera would forever be his Zeus's Hera!

The names Zeus and Hera were forever bound together!

He said tenderly to Hera: "Don't worry, Hera. This time I made them pay a price, but this is just the beginning. I will truly avenge you."

This was Zeus's heartfelt promise—the will of the Supreme Heavenly Lord that would inevitably be realized!

Hera, who had already returned to her pure jade perfection with flowing divine radiance, pursed her lips tightly upon hearing this and nodded slightly.

At this moment, her originally low heart lake seemed to have a scorching star thrown into it, instantly melting into a pool of warm spring water.

Her strength was completely melted by Zeus's tenderness and promise, and all her grievances and anger transformed into deep trust and dependence.

She even secretly rejoiced at Phoebe's sneak attack.

Seeing Zeus go mad for her, her heart also rejoiced to the point of madness.

Hera gazed at the god who occupied her entire soul and said softly: "Zeus, I believe you will accomplish everything you say, but this matter is not urgent. Your safety is most important—I, we all cannot do without you."

Hestia finally found an opportunity to interject. Her brilliant red fire pupils were full of warmth, and this usually gentle and steady goddess now had a serious expression on her youthful face as she said: "Zeus, you are the most important. Only with you here will the hope of light and a beautiful future always exist."

Resilient and intellectual Hestia's concern was restrained and deep, but gentle and bright Demeter was different.

Demeter moved close to Zeus's side, almost pressing against him. This most gentle and romantic young mother goddess had care and dependence overflowing on her delicate face.

Most boldly, she directly grasped Zeus's large hand and held it against her abundant chest. Her crescent-moon-like eyebrows furrowed tightly as she said with infinite care: "Zeus, please don't make me worry anymore. I really cannot bear this painful torment."

"No matter when, please be sure to preserve yourself first. As long as you're safe, everyone will be safe."

Zeus chuckled and nodded repeatedly, lightly embracing the most delicate Demeter with a brief touch before separating, and with tremendous willpower withdrew his hand from the harvest goddess's abundant granary.

There were too many gods present now, and he was comforting military morale—it really wasn't appropriate to be too intimate. It wasn't the right time.

With just Demeter's touch, Zeus had already keenly noticed several inappropriate gazes.

Although he wasn't afraid, the timing was wrong with too many outside gods present. The most important thing now was still boosting morale.
