Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: Poseidon What Could Be Wrong With Me?

After Zeus separated slightly from Demeter, he looked around at the gods, displaying a gentle and confident smile. "Please rest assured, everyone. I have confidence in everything in my heart—I will never have any problems."

"My dear brothers and sisters, dear comrades-in-arms, we never need to worry about momentary gains and losses. Temporary victory or defeat is not important—everyone's safety is the foundation of Olympus."

"Only when everyone is safe can I always charge forward at the front with peace of mind. You are my most solid support!"

Then Zeus turned his gaze to Poseidon, who was still in poor condition, his eyes full of concern and comfort as he asked warmly: "My dear brother Poseidon, are you alright now?"

Poseidon, clearly still not in good condition, forced out an ugly smile.

In this battle, he had suffered the most severe injuries, his divine body brutally shattered by Coeus.

Of course, as long as it wasn't completely destroyed, recovery would be quick.

A law god's divine body was ultimately not fundamental—the difficulty lay in raising the upper limit, never in recovery.

Although he had suffered the most severe injuries, the gods were still most concerned about Zeus. Being neglected to one side, he inevitably felt a bit jealous, but Zeus's concern still warmed his heart.

Seeing all the gods' gazes follow Zeus's words and focus on him, he naturally responded stubbornly: "Just a minor injury—what could be wrong with me? Not worth mentioning!"

Speaking of this, Poseidon gritted his teeth in hatred, his angry voice almost squeezed out through his teeth: "I was merely ambushed by those two despicable beings with no honor whatsoever, using base methods!"

"They are Primordial Titans, noble sons of Uranus! Yet they have no honor at all, acting so basely, conducting such despicable sneak attacks!"

"Next time, I will definitely make them pay! Make them pay an unforgettable price for today's vile actions!"

Upon hearing this, Zeus rose abruptly, raised both arms high, and let out hearty laughter full of power. The laughter was filled with confidence and strength, echoing endlessly in the hall.

"Yes! Definitely! My dear comrades, I promise you that all those gods who dare oppose us will ultimately pay the most painful price for their choice!"

"This campaign has been hard work for everyone! What could be more important than a post-battle feast?"

Zeus opened his arms to all the gods, extending the most sincere invitation: "My dear comrades, let us begin the feast! Use the most mellow divine wine and most delicious immortal delicacies to relieve your fatigue!"

Inspiring words flowed from his mouth: "The temporary defeat was only because our opponents abandoned honor! But such despicable tricks—they will only have this one chance to succeed!"

"After today, they will have no more opportunities!"

"Victory will belong to us! Only to us!"

As Zeus's words fell, thunderous cheers instantly erupted throughout the Olympus temple.

The slight gloomy haze cast by defeat finally completely dissipated in this declaration full of hope and power, and in the atmosphere of the approaching grand feast.

The faces of the gods once again radiated the brilliance befitting deities, filled with confidence once more!

After the gods became immersed in the feast, Zeus keenly noticed that Metis's emotions were somewhat low and melancholy.

He imperceptibly sent an almost undetectable glance to mother goddess Rhea, who immediately understood and quietly took over leadership of the banquet, presiding over the temple's revelry with graceful and gentle demeanor.

Zeus then inconspicuously came to Metis's side amid the clamor, his tall and majestic form slightly bending down as he used a whisper only they could hear to gently invite her: "My dear bright-eyed goddess, would you be willing to leave this commotion with me, go outside for a walk, and clear your mind?"

Metis nodded slightly and followed Zeus out of the noisy temple.

The two gods' figures walked side by side on the prosperous and brilliant Mount Olympus, flowing with sacred radiance.

In this short time, Mother of All Things Gaia had already used her supreme power to repair the world that had suffered war's trauma.

The earth's torn cracks had healed, collapsed mountains had risen again, and various flowers, grass, and trees once again covered the earth.

Only those lives that had been completely destroyed in the terrible divine war could never be recovered.

Flowers bloomed like brocade, vegetation was lush, and rich fragrance filled the gentle breeze. But there were no bird songs or butterflies—the entire world was exceptionally quiet, quiet to the point of emptiness.

Zeus's handsome face bore a gentle smile. His gaze focused concernedly on the obviously downcast Metis as he spoke first, saying softly: "This time was merely a small defeat, but the advantages are still all on our side, and we've probed the God King's hidden assistance."

"Actually calculating it, we haven't truly lost anything, and victory still leans more toward us."

"So, my dear bright-eyed goddess, what heavy worry prevents a smile from appearing on your absolutely beautiful face?"

Zeus paused, his voice deep and magnetic, carrying infinite comfort and tenderness: "How I want you to know that not seeing your brilliant smile makes me sadder than this small defeat."

Zeus's sweet words of comfort successfully created deeper ripples in Metis's heart, but instead made her feel more melancholy and guilty.

She lightly furrowed her beautiful brow, her cherry-blossom-tender lips pressed slightly together. Her voice was as gentle as a breeze passing over the ocean, yet carried obvious bitterness.

"Zeus... the God King's suddenly appearing helpers this time may have appeared because of my existence."

"The two intellect great gods were originally low-key and silent, rarely involved in disputes. Their relationship with the God King is also not very intimate."

"With their wisdom that perceives everything, they couldn't fail to see the current situation clearly, couldn't fail to know how dangerous it would be to help the God King now."

"But this time they acted unusually to help the God King."

"It must be because the God King learned of my existence and exaggerated my threat, which moved the two Titans to act."

"With the God King having their help, it will become very difficult for us to win this war."

Zeus thought to himself: This silly girl is actually feeling guilty over this matter, when she bears no responsibility at all.

But outwardly, he nodded in apparent agreement, calmly echoing: "Yes, this does seem very much like the real reason that caused them to act. They must have felt the threat you pose to them, which forced them to help the God King."
