Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 Memories

"(Y/N)..." A voice that I didn't know, but felt as if I should, rings out, causing me to turn to see a woman with a bright smile, looking as if she were sitting in a chair, and the contraption I was in was vibrating.

"We're almost there, honey." A man's voice rings out as I see his green brown eyes in the mirror staring over at me. "Who are these people?" I wonder, but I then feel myself smile.

"Okay-" I was interrupted by a large crash, causing everything to go black. Suddenly, I begin to feel myself moving again, causing my eyes to quickly open. "What the hell happened?!" I wonder as I place my hand to my head and get up to see I'm riding on a two-headed dragon demon.

"Lord Sesshomaru, she's awake!" I hear a girl's voice chirp, causing me to look over to see a little girl with a tiny ponytail, a white and orange kimono, smiling at me.

"Who are you, woman!?" A little imp demon rushes in front of the young girl, causing me to put on a confused expression.

"I'm (Y/N)... How did I get here?" I wonder as I look around to then see a man with light white hair dressed in a kimono, but it also had armor on it.

"You smell of Naraku." A deep male voice states with a slight, curious expression, causing me to look away.

"She does... Are you another one of his incarnations?!" The Imp demon exclaims, causing me to scoff as I look away.

"No, I'm nothing to him..." I trail off, but then I feel a glare causing me to glance over to see that the man was now closer than before. Grabbing my chin, he turns my face towards him with a serious expression.

"Explain." The man demands. "He obviously hates Naraku, but there's no way I've met him, I would've obviously remembered." I think, as I then put on a slightly depressed expression.

"He threw me away, ok?!" I exclaim as I slap his hand away and turn away from him.

"How dare you, insolent-"

"Jaken!" The man interrupts the Imp demon, causing me to look over to see the man walking away. "Is he not going to kill me?" I wonder as I look down with a slightly depressed expression.

"Yes, m'lord," Jaken says, but then the girl jumps onto the two-headed dragon in front of me with a brighter smile than before, and it begins to move. "They're just going to let me tag along just like that?" I wonder as the girl looks over at me.

"I'm Rin." Rin introduced herself, causing me to slightly smile.

"Nice to meet you." I greet as I glance over at one of the dragon's heads, causing the girl to point to it.

"That's Auh and that one's Un," Rin informs as she points at the other head, causing my eyes to widen, but then I bring my mouth closer to her ear and point at the man, who was walking in front of A-Un.

"And what's his name?" I ask, causing her to giggle.

"That's lord Sesshomaru, and Master Jaken is standing beside him," Rin answers as she points to the little Imp, who then turns to look over, putting on an angry expression.

"What are you telling her, you foolish girl?" Jake asks, causing Rin to shake her head.

"I was introducing everybody," Rin answers, causing Jaken to scoff, but I then see the dude named Sesshomaru kick the little Imp. Quickly, I place my hand on my mouth, covering up my urge to laugh. "Surves that stuck up Imp right." I think, but the girl puts on a concerned expression as we begin to pass him.

"Mater Jaken, are you okay?" Rin asks as the Imp stands back up and glares over at us.

"I'm just fine." The Imp insists and begins walking after us, trying to catch up. "I don't know what happened to the castle, but wherever you are, Kohaku... I hope you're safe." I think as I look up into the bright blue sky.

(To Inuyasha)

"So, this is where Naraku's castle used to be?" Inuyasha asks as they were standing in ruins.

"Yes, there are still traces of Naraku's miasma. This is it." Miroku answers.

"Hmm." Songo sounds as she and Kagome stare at it with worried expressions.

"It doesn't make any sense, though. There are hardly any signs of the ruins. Are you sure Naraku's castle was really here?" Inuyasha questions as they were walking around.

"You've got a point. Considering it's Naraku, it wouldn't be the first time we've been lured to a false castle." Miroku responds as Kagome looks around as if searching for something.

"Maybe the castle we saw before was just an illusion." Kagome sighs as she kicks a stone that was on the ground.

"No, it was real." Songo insists as she was bedded down on the ground.

"How do you know that?" Kagome asks with a somewhat hopeful expression, causing Songo to look over at her.

"There's no mistake. Naraku's castle was definitely here." Songo proclaims, causing Kagome's eyes to widen.

"Songo, what have you got there?" Kagome asks as Songo is pulling armor out of the ground.

"What's up, Songo? Did you find something?" Inuyasha asks as he begins walking over.

"This was my Father's armor," Songo answers as she holds a piece of armor to her chest.

"The day he was murdered, we Demon Slayers were lured to Naraku's castle. My Father and all the others were slaughtered. The Assassin was my young brother Kohaku. His mind was being controlled by Naraku." Songo explained as she continued to dig up the armor and weapons.

"Their bodies were buried in the corner of the courtyard... Right where we're standing." Songo added as she stared down at the remains.

"I'm sorry, Songo." Kagome apologizes.

"Hey, guys!" Shippo calls out as he holds up a sword and a kimonos.

"Wait, wasn't that..." Kagome trails off as Shippo begins to rush over, but Inuyasha's nose then twitches, causing him to put on an annoyed expression.

"These are (Y/N)'s." Inuyasha declares as he grabs the sword and the kimonos, causing Kagome to rush over to him with a worried expression.

"Why was her stuff left here... She was using this sword the last time we saw her." Kagome insists, and Inuyasha nods.

"Juromaru and Kageromaru were trying to kill her last time-"

"Are you trying to say she's dead?!" Shippo exclaims, but Inuyasha scoffs.

"There's no way someone as stubborn as (Y/N) would be killed so easily," Inuyasha states, causing Kagome to put on a slight smile.

"You're right. Thank you, Inuyasha. I'm sure she's fine wherever she is." Kagome looked up at the sky with a hopeful expression.

(To (Y/N) )

Rin and I were chatting the day away as we were riding on A-Un, but I then looked up to see that the sky was now a bright yellow, and I smiled up at it.

"I've missed the different colors of the sky..." I trail off, causing Rin to put on a confused expression.

"What do you mean, (N/N)?" Rin asks, causing my smile to brighten at hearing her nickname she made up for me as I glanced over at her.

"When I lived in Naraku's castle, the sky was always dark purple, so I could never tell what time it was or if it even was a new day," I answer, causing Rin to put on a depressed expression.

"It sounds kind of sad." Rin points out, causing me to chuckle and shake my head.

"I got pretty used to it..." I trailed off, but then my stomach growled, and A-Un then stopped, causing me to look over to see Sesshomaru, who had been walking that whole day, had stopped in his tracks.

"Rin." Sesshomaru's voice rang out, causing Rin to jump off A-Un with a bright smile. "Oh crap, are they going to punish me for my stomach rumbling?" I wonder with a confused expression.

"Yes, my lord!" Rin chirps and then turns to me and holds out her hand innocently.

"Damn, humans," Jake remarks as he rolls his eyes, causing me to take Rin's hand as I jump off A-Un, which makes her begin to drag me away and over to the nearby forest.

"What are we doing, Rin?" I question, causing her to turn to me.

"You're hungry, so we're getting food." Rin proclaims, and my eyes widen as she begins to collect berries from a bush. "Such a young child is collecting her own food?" I wonder as I stare at her in amazement, but then I shake my head.

"Is there anything else around here?" I ask, causing Rin to point up at the tree above us.

"That fruit in the tree is safe. I usually climb, but you should be tall enough to reach it." Rin answers as she looks up, causing me to look up to see several fruits in the tree.

"Ah, okay!" I chirp as I reach up and grab a few of them. "Kohaku was the one who had taught me what things were safe to eat in a forest when we had traveled together... Please, be safe, Kohaku." I think, while collecting fruit from the tree.

(To Kohaku)

"Did you remember anything?" An old man asks Kohaku, who was staring down at his food.

"No... Not really." Kohaku answers.

"How about... Where you came from? Or your name?" The old man questions.

"Wait a minute, now. Perhaps you lived close to the castle." The old lady adds.

"Castle?" Kohaku asks with a confused expression.

"About 10 days ago, Lord Hitomi's castle suddenly vanished into thin air, and it was the very next day that we found you lying unconscious. Perhaps you've suffered a frightening experience, and that's what caused you to lose your memory." The old lady explains, but Kohaku remained silent.

"Well, never mind." The old man states.

"Yeah, guess not. Meanwhile, you can stay here as long as you like. Now, eat up. There's lots more." The old lady insists.

"Hmm, thank you." Kohaku smiles.

(To (Y/N) )

Rin and I brought back the food we had gotten from the forest to Jaken and A-Un, but Sesshomaru was nowhere to be seen.

"About time, I had assumed you two got lost." Jake points out as I let out a sigh.

"I may be Mortal, but I'd have to be stupid to get lost in that dense forest." I insist, causing Jaken to scoff.

"No fighting, let's dig in!" Rin chirps, causing me to let out a sigh.

"Yeah, I'm starving." I nod with a smile. Rin and I began to eat when I noticed Jaken staring at me with a suspicious expression.

"Now I know what other smell you reminded me of." Jake stands up as he points at me.

"Inuyasha's wench, you and here smell too much like each other for it to be nothing. Are the two of you related?" Jaken inquired, causing me to stare at him for a moment.

"If you're talking about Kagome..." I trail off as I look away from him and over to see the moon begin to rise.

"I wouldn't know," I state, causing Jaken to narrow his eyes at me.

"What do you mean, woman?" Jaken asks, and I scoff.

"Me helping Naraku was because the only memories I have are of him saving me, nothing else before that," I answer, causing Rin's eyes to widen.

"Nothing?" Rin questions with a worried expression.

"Yeah, Kagome insists that I'm her cousin... However, I don't want to trust something unless I can remember it and know I'm not being manipulated." I respond, causing Jaken to nod.

"You're smart for a human, but my nose doesn't lie," Jake informs.

"My nose doesn't lie... You and Kagome are related." Koga's voice sounds out threw my head. "Maybe Kagome and I are really related..." I think as I let out a sigh, as I look up at the moon, illuminating the almost dark sky.

(To Kohaku)

(Kohaku's POV)

"A castle... that's right. I have a feeling I was there." I think as I stared up at the crescent moon from underneath a tree. Suddenly, I began to hear the sound of buzzing as I saw a dark cloud begin to appear in front of the moon.

"Huh?" I question, as I see it wasn't a cloud, but demonic bees heading towards me.

"Ah!" I sound out as I rush towards the old couple's hut.

"Gramps! Granny!" I call out as I rush in, causing them both to turn to me.

"Huh?" The old man sounds out confused.

"I have to leave you." I insist.

"Where will you go, my boy?" The old woman asks, causing me to turn away from them.

"I can't stay here anymore. It's dangerous, so don't go outside. Thank you for all your kindness." I thanked them and rushed back outside the hut. "That's it. I remember me and... A woman was in the castle the night it disappeared." I think as I continued to run through the forest.

"Kohaku, I do not need to keep you alive any longer. Go join your Father and the others." A voice echoes threw my head. "Kohaku. My name is Kohaku? But what about that woman, and why wasn't she with me?" I wonder as I then look up ahead.

"Ah!" I shout as I see the ground being torn up, while heading towards me, causing me to stop in my tracks. I scream out as I barely dodge the advance towards me, but pain begins to rush through my shoulder, causing me to grunt.

"Huh?" I question as I hear growling, causing me to look up to see a crazy looking demon in front of me.

"Kohaku, you cannot escape from me." The demon states, causing me to stand up and ready myself, while glaring at the demon.

"Surrender and give me the Sacred Jewel Shard in your back." The demon demands. "Sacred Jewel Shard?" I wonder with a confused expression.

"Surrender the Jewel!" The demon demands as it tries to crush me with its arm, but I dodge it just in time. Using its other arm, it goes to slash me, but I jump once again. However, the demon's tongue heads straight towards me, which makes me fall to the ground, and my Chain scythe flies out of my hand. Suddenly, I hear the demon's growl ring out, causing me to turn.

"Aah!" I scream as I see the demon heading straight towards me.

"Kohaku!" I hear someone call out my name, and I then see a large weapon cleave the head off of the demon. Frozen in fear, I didn't move as I saw the demon's head and body fall to the ground in front of me. Hearing something behind me, I quickly look over to see a woman catching the large weapon and landing on the ground.

"Who are you? Do you know me?" I ask with a confused expression.

(To (Y/N))

( (Y/N)'s POV)

"(Y/N)." A voice rang out. "It's that woman's voice again." I think as I look over to see her looking back at me from her chair, as she did before. "Am I having the same dream I had last time, again?" I wonder as the man then shifts his eyes up at the mirror.

"We're almost there, honey." The man insists. "Here it comes..." I think as I smile.

"Okay-" I was interrupted by a large crash causing as it felt as if the contraption was rolling down a hill. Finally, it stopped causing me to feel pain rushing through my body. "What happened?" I wonder as I glance over to see that the man and woman were both covered in blood, causing tears to form in my eyes.

"Mom... Dad!" I call out, causing the man's eyes to open and shift towards me.

"(Y/N)-" The man I called my Dad is cut off, and my vision goes black. Suddenly, I opened my eyes to feel tears running down my face. "That couldn't have been just a dream, right?" I wonder as I look over to see Rin, and beside her is Jaken. They were both lying against A-Un, fast asleep. Standing up, I began to walk over to the cliff that was nearby and look up at the crescent moon while I still felt the tears sliding down my face.

"I guess they're dead..." I trail off.

(To Kagura)

Jumping down from the sky, Kagura lands with a villainous expression, followed by a chuckle.

"Kagura, what do you want this time?" Inuyasha asks.

"I know you're hiding Kohaku. Inuyasha, let me have him." Kagura answers.

"What?" Inuyasha questions.

"Don't play innocent with me. Hand over Naraku's kept boy. You see, Kohaku went berserk and ran off from the castle with a Sacred Jewel Shard embedded in his back." Kagura responds.

"And that's the reason you've come for him?" Inuyasha asks.

"Naraku always goes overboard. Imagine dispatching this enormous army simply because he wants the shard." Kagura answers as she lightly fans herself.

"So, you're after the Sacred Jewel Shard, are you?" Inuyasha questions.

"Correct. Although once it's removed, Kohaku will die. We're under orders to let Songo have him after that." Kagura informs, while she shuts her fan.

"How dare you?!" Miroku exclaims, glaring at Kagura.

(To Kagome)

"Protect Kohaku for me, and I'll go stop those demons," Songo calls out, and Kagome nods.

"Sure thing. Good Luck!" Kagome bellows as Songo turns away and begins running.

"Kirara!" Songo calls out, causing Kirara, who was beside Kagome, to rush after her with a roar.

"Kohaku, you must live!" Songo shouts as she jumps onto Kirara and flies towards the huge group of demons.

"Come on, let's go!" Kagome insists as she grabs a hold of Kohaku's hand, and they begin to run. Suddenly, a demon heads towards them with a growl, but Kagome quickly draws an arrow and lets it fly towards the demon, killing it in one blow. However, two more demons appear behind them, and four more in front of them.

"How will we stop them?" Kohaku asks.

"I can do it," Kagome answers as she grabs another arrow and begins taking out the demons left and right.

"I'm out of arrows." Kagome proclaims as she looks around to see a tree with a small cave under it.

"Let's hide in that hole." Kagome points out, causing them to quickly make their way into it.

"We'll wait until Inuyasha and the others come," Kagome states.

(Kohaku's POV)

"That lady..." Kohaku trails off, "I feel like her and that woman I was with are quite similar." I think with a concerned expression.

"I hope she'll be alright," I say, causing Kagome to smile.

"Oh, you mean Songo. She can handle herself. She's strong. Don't worry about her. Songo's your older sister. Can't you remember her? Or are you're memories still locked up inside of you, Kohaku?" Kagome asks.

"Hmm. I do seem to know her. I mean, she seems so familiar. That woman and her are so much alike..." I trail off, causing Kagome to put on a confused expression.

"Woman?" Kagome questions, and I nod as I look up at her.

"She and I were together when the castle disappeared, I think her name was... (Y/N)." I respond, causing Kagome's eyes to widen.

"You're saying you and (Y/N) were escaping together?" Kagome asks, causing me to stare down at the ground.

"I think so," I answer with a nod, but put on a confused expression.

"You know her?" I question, and she smiles.

"Yeah, just like you and Songo, we're related and we're torn apart just like the way you and Songo were... You know, Songo and I have been so worried about both of you. I know Songo tries to put on a cheerful face, but sometimes her sadness still gets the better of her. So, I'm glad you've returned, and I hope we'll be able to find (Y/N) as well." Kagome explains.

"Do you think it would be all right if I stay with her, then?" I ask.

"Of course it is, and that way, you'll eventually start to remember her," Kagome answers.

"Mm-hmm." I sound with an uncertain expression. I want to remember her and everything else. Still, why do I feel this way? It's like I'm scared. There's something I don't want to remember." I wonder.

"Kill her. Kill Kagome." A voice rings through my head, causing a burning feeling in my back, but I then hold up my chain Scythe.

(To (Y/N) )

( (Y/N) POV)

I felt something touch my face, causing me to look over to see Sesshomaru sitting there staring at me, but I then turned to him and began to wipe the tears away.

"Why?" Sesshomaru asked softly, causing me to stop and turn to him.

"Are you asking me why I'm crying?" I question, but he did not respond, causing me to let out a sigh.

"I-I think I remembered my parents... death," I respond, causing Sesshomaru to look away from me and over to the moon.

"You remember..." Sesshomaru trailed off with a slight knit in his brow.

"I had no memories, but of ones where Naraku saved me. However, I'm pretty sure what I just saw was a memory." I inform, causing Sesshomaru to glance over towards me. However, before I could ask the one question that had been weighing on my mind, he got up and walked away. "Why is he just letting me tag along? He obviously hates Naraku, who I used to work for." I think as I stare at Sesshomaru, whose long white hair was blowing in the wind as it glistened in the moonlight.

"Get some rest," Sesshomaru advised, and then walked away, causing my eyes to widen. "I can't change the fact that Naraku threw me away, so I'll just follow him for now." I think as I then take one last look at the moon.

(To Naraku)

(Naraku's POV)

I was wrapped in my baboon pelt, sitting on a tree, staring down at Kohaku, who was on his knees in front of me.

"Kohaku, remember that I spared your life. I also erased your terrible memories for you... And yet you still failed to kill Kagome. Why is that, Kohaku? Is it because of (Y/N)?" I ask, narrowing my eyes at him, which makes Kohaku stare up at me, and I grit my teeth. "That damn mortal, I get rid of her and she's still affecting everything..." I think as I glare down at Kohaku.

"Do you wish to become human again? Then do you want your memories returned? All... Of your memories?" I ask and then place my hand on Kohaku's head.

"No. No!" Kohaku shouts as he back away and began to sob, while holding his head.

"Huh. Fair enough. I'll let you live, for now." I state as I place my hand on top of his head.

"Forget it all, even (Y/N)." I demand causing him to stop and look up at me with blank eyes.

"Yes." Kohaku responds and I clench my fist. "Maybe I should have just killed her after all..." I think as I stared down at my fist.
