Sitting in the library had to be the dullest thing Axel had ever known, especially when pressure pressed on him so heavy it felt like it was going to crush his chest.
His mind refused to quiet, every second dragging out like punishment.
Only sitting still and remembering how he had no escape this time from meeting Ivan, no way to slip out of what he had been cornered into.
All he could do now was wait for it to happen, for the moment to finally come, so that maybe afterward he could breathe and stop drowning in the anxious thoughts Ivan kept stirring in him.
What unsettled him most was how often Ivan's eyes found him. Axel caught him more times than he could count.. stealing glances, holding them a little too long, pulling them away as though nothing had happened.
