After Ivan left, Axel felt like he couldn't breathe anymore. His chest squeezed so tightly it was as though invisible hands were wrapping around his lungs, crushing them.
But the weight pressing on him didn't come from Ivan storming out. It came from Alpha Norman.
The Alpha's eyes stayed locked on him, burning in silence, no words leaving his mouth yet, but the stare itself screamed louder than shouting.
Those eyes carried a threat sharp enough to tear Axel apart where he stood. His whole body tensed as though bracing for impact.
"Alpha Norman…" Axel started, his voice breaking slightly as he bowed his head immediately, trying to salvage himself before things got worse.
But Norman cut him off at once, his voice low and dangerous, vibrating with the kind of control that felt more frightening than rage.
