With that thought, Axel turned around and walked back to the room he had just stormed out of. His steps were heavier now, less fueled by the fire that had driven him earlier.
"Why are you back?" one of his former roommates, Andy, asked almost immediately, eyebrows raised with curiosity. Dallas looked like he had the same question simmering, but it was Andy who spoke... half mocking.
"I mean, you left here with all that fire in your chest, ready to confront Ivan, to make him know who you are. Did you even make it into the room?" Andy added, laughing with the other roommate, Dylan.. though Dallas didn't.
Axel sat down on his bed firmly, forcing his voice to sound steady, even though he felt their words stab closer to the truth than he liked. "I'm not afraid of him. I don't know why you guys are always so afraid," he said, refusing to let any weakness slip into his tone.
