Without saying a word, Dallas stood and left. He moved with a contained energy, each movement controlled, as though he were trying to appear unbothered.
But the tension in his body betrayed him.
When he passed Ivan, his posture remained stiff, and though his face stayed composed, the restless clench of his hands and the faint quickness of his breath gave him away.
Only after Dallas disappeared through the door did Ivan finally move. He crossed the short stretch of space toward Axel with his usual calm, "I don't want to see you with him again unless we've broken up," he said.
His voice was quiet, almost unnervingly even, and his face remained composed, the smoothness of his expression almost at odds with the edge of his statement.
