Chapter 44 - The Letter...

Ivan hesitated with the paper in his hand, debating whether to unfold it or simply give it to Axel.

It might be private. He thought.

He knew he shouldn't be this nosy. Yet before he could make a conscious decision, his fingers moved on their own, the crease opening almost on its own.

The paper unfolded under his touch as though his body refused to wait for his mind's restraint.

The first thing that met his eyes was a greeting, written in neat, deliberate strokes.

~Hi Axel.

Just two words, but they caught him in place, locking his attention. His eyes slid lower before he could stop himself, drawn helplessly to the rest.
