Mira's world was indeed crushing, and she felt like she'd been punched in the gut. Fiancee? Leo had a fiancee? All this time, she'd thought they had something real, something special. But it seemed like she'd been blind to the truth.
As she stood there, trying to process her emotions, Mira couldn't help but feel like she'd been played. She glanced at Eva, who was watching her with concern. Mira's eyes narrowed, and she took a deep breath.
"Fiancee?" Mira repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. "You never mentioned that before, Leo."
Leo's eyes met hers, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. "I was going to tell you," he said, his voice calm. "But things got complicated."
Mira's laughter was bitter. "Complicated? You think that's an understatement?"
Lucy, sensing the tension, stepped forward. "Maybe we should talk about this later," she said, her voice smooth but deep down happy this was going she forgot to report them.
But Mira wasn't having it. She turned to Lucy, her eyes flashing with anger. "No, let's talk about it now. You're his fiancee? How long have you been engaged?"
Lucy's smile faltered, and she glanced at Leo. "We've been engaged for a while," she said, her voice hesitant.
Mira's eyes widened in disgust. "A while? That's vague. How long is a while?"
Eva stepped forward, her eyes locked on Mira's. "Mira, calm down."
But Mira wasn't interested in talking. She turned on her heel and walked away, leaving the others standing there in awkward silence.
As she disappeared into the hallway, Lucy turned to Leo. "Maybe I should go after her?" she suggested wanting to rub it all over miras face.
But evashook her head. "No, I'll handle it. You just got back, so enjoy ." She said rolling her eyes and walked after mira
Lucy nodded, her eyes blazing glare. "Okay, I'll leave it to you then." She said forcing the words out
Mira stormed into a bedroom, slamming the door behind her. She couldn't believe what she'd just heard. Leo was engaged? To Lucy? It didn't make any sense.
She paced back and forth, trying to process her emotions. Anger, hurt, and betrayal swirled inside her, making her feel like she was going to explode.
How could Leo do this to her? Had he ever truly cared about her? Or was she just a distraction, a way to pass the time until he married Lucy?
Mira's mind was racing with questions, but she knew she wouldn't get any answers. Not now, at least. She needed to calm down, to think clearly.
She took a deep breath and walked over to the window, staring out at the city below. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the skyscrapers.
As she stood there, Mira realized that she had a choice to make. She could confront Leo, demand answers, and risk losing everything. Or she could walk away, leave the penthouse, and never look back.
The thought of walking away was tempting. Mira didn't know if she could handle the pain of being in a relationship with someone who was already committed to someone else.
But a part of her still held onto hope. Maybe Leo would explain everything, tell her that it was all a mistake, and that he loved her.
Mira's heart was torn, and she didn't know what to do. She stood there, frozen in indecision, as the city lights twinkled to life outside.
Meanwhile, Leo watched Mira storm off, feeling a pang of guilt. He knew he'd hurt her, and he didn't blame her for being angry.
He turned to Lucy, who was watching him with concern. "Ikets go," he said. "She'll calm down herself."
Lucy nodded. "hmm you are right. But Leo, we need to talk about this too. About us, and what we want."
Leo's eyes met hers, and he nodded. "We'll talk later. Right now, I have alot of things to deal with so go to your room." He said headed straight to his
As he walked towards his bedroom, Leo wondered what he Mira was thinking. Would he be able to fix things, or would he lose her forever? The uncertainty hung in the air, like a challenge waiting to be met...
